  • Wow this is so off from the actual myth but it's still AMAZING!!

  • One of the worst Disney flicks.

Compare this to Aladdin, Jungle book, Lion king etc... not even close.

  • @musicgu7 WHAT DO YOU MEAN WITH THAT

  • I wanna see this movie

  • This is still one of my favorite Disney movies from childhood ..love it love it love it!!!!

  • Somehow the Swedish voices sounds much better

  • voice of hurcules is very similar to the voice of adult simba. I thought they were the same actor

  • @FangFailae hey, tangled is a comeback!

  • @rochelimit55555 dont forget the princess and the frog

  • @diegoradoblasio nah, I think princess and frog is a failure

  • @rochelimit55555 hey hey hey, why you say that, it was successful since the little mermaid and thanks to its success disney planned to release a hand drawn film every 2 years, and look that means that the princess and the frog is the new little mermaid, tangled looks like the new beauty and the beast, and that makes the the 2nd renassaince starting the pincess and the frog, is that clear?

  • @diegoradoblasio ok, lol, thumbs up for putting a lot of thought on it :) :)

  • @diegoradoblasio i don think you can say tangled is the next beauty and the beast, that was a groundbreaking animation and was the first ever animated film nominated for best picture, tangled is just another 3d film that focuses on comedy rather than story and characters, we need more 2d films for another renassaince

  • @40019974 not exactly because GLEN KEANE said that tangled is the best disney movie they ever made, in other words we can obviously say that tangled is also part of the musical 2d style (which has special 2D/CGI combined and please do not correct me because because i`ve known about the special technic they used and you can say it as your favorite 2d disney film and its animation is unlike bolt) renaissance along TPATF and tangled had much more drama despite comedy since beauty and the beast

  • @diegoradoblasio thats just his opinion, but beauty and the beast was groundbreaking whereas tangled was nothing special, all disneys new films use too much comedy and the latest pop culture references whereas the golden age used timless storytelling and created new animation techniques with each film, tangled is dire in comparsion and no where near as touching or impressive as lion king or beauty and the beast

  • @40019974 YOU ARE WRONG, LISTEN TO ME, IM TELLING YOU THE TRUTH BECAUSE TANGLED WAS MORE DRAMATIC THAN THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG AND OBVIOUSLY THEY ARE SPECIAL NATURALLY LIKE THE OLD DAYS FOR NEW GENERATIONS you big twit (sigh), you know WHAT, MIND your own business, IF YOU HAVENT ANSWERED ME NONE OF THIS WOULD HAPPEN, GOOD RIDDANCE and that`s my last word

  • @diegoradoblasio I don't see why you have to take it personally and get so angry, in all caps even, just because 40019974 doesn't wan't to accept your opinion, which is all it is, that you're trying to force onto them.

And for what it's worth, Beauty and the Beast is more widely accepted critically as being one of if not the best Disney film. Not that Tangled is bad, but BaTB doesn't have the title of only animated film to get a best picture Oscar nomination for nothing.

  • @ZephyrinSkies obviously the commentary you mentioned was the only comment i argued BUT NOT FORCING, I WAS EXPLAINING (which is different) but he didn`t me, in other words the best picture nomination isn`t necessary because we know that disney animated films is the best for the music, and like the earlier times i was glad that for example tangled would receive best song, but in other words i dont care the others, they misunderstand i explain, believe me i know everything, i hope you understand

  • @ZephyrinSkies (ups, i meant to say in the 3rd line "BUT HE DIDNT BELIEVE ME")

  • @ZephyrinSkies but please dont say something negatively, because im so tired to explain things, and whatever you do, dont you dare to think that im a selfish person i just explain things, now if you excuse me i have important things to do

  • @40019974 WHILe the princess and the frog had much more comedy since aladdin

  • @40019974 IN OTHER WORDS TANGLED HAD GREAT STORY AND CHARACTERS and remember that no matter what technic is using THE NUMBER ONE THING IS THE STORY AND THE CHARACTERS (like lasseter says)

  • I like hades My favroite Villian in hercules

  • Asking Abby.

  • Hades is the best daddy in the world!

  • wht

  • R.I.P Charlton Heston.

  • classic disney, favorite disney movie

  • Ahhhh Tate Donovan <33333

One of my favorite disney movies ever!!

  • you mean HUNKULES

  • The Muses were awesome.

  • I still think you're too hard on this movie. At least they got some basic facts (like what the names of the gods were and what they were gods of) right. And if it's like Superman, well, like I've said, that's understandable actually.

  • This is very interesting. Hercules is one of my fav Disney movies.

    *movie spoiler*

I wish they showed more lines by Susan Egan, especially how she voiced the dying Meg.

  • I've been drawing ever since I was little. The Disney movies were a huge impact in my childhood and my life. Unlike most kids, I always watch the making of it after the movie.

Now, I'm in college and animation is one of my career goals.

  • My least favourite of all Disney cartoons. No wonder it was so hated in Greece.

  • @Visonu it was? why? this movie was great! my fav Disney movie til this day.

  • @CUF17 Don't get me wrong. I still liked this film, but less than the others. In Greece, it was merely seen as an adaptation of Superman because it was so unfaithful to the original myths.

  • I don't know how I would feel about this movie, if I was Greek (although I guess I personally would have enjoyed a similar movie based on Norse mythology, even though I'm Swedish). But with all the liberties Disney took with the mythology, I still love this movie.

  • @Furienna Did you happen to notice that Hercules even has an S-Curl like Superman????

  • Ha ha! Well, it goes the other way around too. The mythological hero Hercules is the inspiration to the comic character Superman.

  • @Furienna Maybe, but I still think Disney should have stuck to the original myth but toned it down for children.

  • I'm afraid they sticked to the original myth as much as they could.

  • @Furienna No, they "sticked" more to Superman. In the original myth, Hera was Hercules's sister who tried to kill him with the snakes. SHE put him under a spell and made him KILL Megara and his family. He went to Eurystheus for redemption. He commanded Hercules to slay the 12 labours. Hercules did so and was made a God again and made amends with Hera. There were later adventures........

.......but NONE of them had Lex Luthor dressed as Hades plotting to kill Hercules.

  • What I meant was, they sticked to it as much they could and still be Disney. It's not like "The little mermaid", "Aladdin", "The hunchback of Notre-Dame" or even "Tarzan" followed their original sources to the letter either. If you wanted a truthful adaption of the Hercules myth, surely you didn't expect it from Disney? And like I said, Hercules was the Superman of the ancient Greece anyway. And furthermore, Hera wasn't Hercules's sister, but his father's wife.

  • @Furienna Yes, I got it wrong about Hera, she was his stepmother. But those other cartoons followed their source material much closer than this one did.

As I said earlier, they could have adapted the myth, but toned it down so it could be Disney. I think it was a wasted effort to make it just like Superman. Hercules and Superman may be similar characters, but their stories are very different.

  • Well, "Aladdin" is hardly anything like its original source either, and TLM and THOND were much darker stories originally. But it seems like more people are fans of Greek mythology than of "Arabian Nights", HC Andersen or Victor Hugo, so "Hercules" gets more bashing than the other movies. And I don't think that's fair. Sure, they didn't follow the Greek myths to the letter, but at least they gave children a chance to get to know Greek mythology, that they maybe wouldn't have gotten otherwise.

  • @Furienna Yeah, I guess so. Making it funny AND educational at the same time, but I would still have preferred a toned down version of the original myth than the film copying Superman.

At least THOND, TLM and Aladdin were a combination of their source material and ORIGINAL material, but Hercules was just the same as Superman.

  • James Woods :) from that fantastic show Shark that got cancelled in season 2 for some undoutedbly stupid reason.

  • loooove herculese

  • Leading candidate for the year's best movie. From the opening scene to the end, this movie that I saw on freecartoonsus keeps the audience on its collective toes moving in unexpected directions.

  • also i'm going into computer engineering. i'm hoping that right after i graduate i can take some animation classes to brush up on it cuz i already have experience with using AutoCad 3d software. i would love to work for Pixar.

  • i can now have the wonderful experience of online cartoon watching, with the best online cartoon watching site, freecartoonsus....it has got the best collection of cartoons!

  • This is tiptop cartoon!!! If you are home alone...and you don't have money to go to cinemas, see it on freecartoonsus...Film is great...fantastic....It is really entertaining and funny..

  • this cartoon that I saw on freecartoonsus was a solid, entertaining cartoon with some great acting and scripting. It is probably one of the best cartoons this year

  • Wow!! This film is worth to watch, everything here is great, no bad critics... The thing I liked the most is the way how acters have shown surprising willingness to play thay roles...it is just fascinating! You must see this to believe me... freecartoonsus is my sugesstion if you prefer online, free watching!¸

  • these disney films were awesome along with princess and the frog. i'm hoping tangled is good. i hope disney keeps making awesome movies and maybe they'll go into a second disney renaissance era.

  • @FallofDarkness55 Yay! Someone who doesn't instantly hate tangled because it's in CGI! They couldn't animate the hair traditionally, yet people still get mad about it.

They seem to be on a roll. Princess and the frog, now tangled. They were considering doing "The snow queeen" but it has been put on hold indefinitely. Next traditionally animated film is Winnie the Pooh.

  • @sighcantthinkofaname i love animated films whether in cgi or traditionally animated because of the disney renaissance. well toy story is part of that era and because of this i love cgi too. i love all disney films. and i hope they make the snow queen. i like to revisit my childhood through these fantastic animated movies. other cgi films i really enjoyed are Wall E, Up, Finding Nemo, Shark Tale, The Incredibles, and many more. i love pixar films. so do you have any favorite pixar movies?

  • @FallofDarkness55 The Incredible's stands out, The toy story's obviously, Monster's Inc, and Ratatouille are all movies I really enjoy. I actually Haven't seen Wall-E or Up but I need to see them. I'm also looking forward to their upcoming movie Brave.

  • Charlton Heston was the narrator, but didn't get an on-screen character?

Damn you! (falls to knees) DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!

  • @imlaughing2death

I must sound really stupid, but what movie is that line from again?

  • @imlaughing2death Funny. I'm laughing to death.

  • its JOSHUA frm friends lol!

  • Aww i used to watch this movie like every day when i was little. It makes sense that the same directors did The Little Mermaid and Aladdin because those are my other two favorites.

  • brilliant classic

  • YESS INDEED!!! hahahaha I love this movie

  • Hercules-Clark Kent/Superman

    Meg-Lois Lane/Mary Jane Watson/Shego

    Hades-Lex Luthor/Drakken/Joker

  • I love The Muses and Hercules

  • The actor who give his voice to Hermes looks absolutely the same as his character!!! xD

  • The mythology is very innacurate, but the movie is wonderful.

  • i love how the characters kindof look like the people who do their voices. its great!!

  • cool

  • THIS IS GREAT! I LOVE IT!

  • @ghosthost100 erm maybe a bit boring if you ask me

  • @ghosthost100 Well dreamworks made the Prince of Egypt, and that was pretty damn good.

  • This is my favourite disney movie

  • Hades is myyy favorite character too...sooo hilarious and mean ;)

  • @NakhlaTree he's so adorable the way hes always mad :) badass of disney villainry right here.

  • Love Hercules :D

Love the actors and the singers and the classical gospel is a win!! :D :D

  • Lol @ "Two words: keep. it. fun."

  • Hercules can be summed up as Disney's own Superman

  • ha i love the casting of James Wood for hades he's hilarious

  • I love the casting and the gospel... This movie is so darn FUNNY.

  • Where can i whatch the movie for free without downloading it?

  • Does anyone know who the narrator is?

  • Comment removed

  • if i rememer it correctly it was charles heston

  • Not the Narrator in the movie. The Narrator in this documentary of the making of the movie.

  • Never mind it's Mark Elliot.

  • the voice of muses are amazing!!!!

  • The young Hercules actor looks EXACTLY like young Hercules XD

  • HERCULES is the MOST HILARIOUS Disney movie PERIOD!!! i loooove HERCULES!

  • The Hydra is a water creature...I am very curiouse why they made it a land creature...hmmnnnnn..

  • maybe to fit it into the storyline of having the kids trapped in the gorge (what kind of water emergency would allow enough time for meg to run to herc and ask him for help?). that and maybe they wanted a death-by-landslide (which again, requires a land setting) because it was less violent than the actual hydra death of cauterizing head-stumps with a firebrand.

  • They could have always used a different monster X3..but whatever. to late movie is already made.

    good movie either way,

  • Paul Schafer (Hermies) loks a lot like his character...

  • Animators probaly took inspiration from him and used his appearance for Hermies.

  • 4:31 to 4:34 wasn't in the movie, was it?

  • nope, i'm watching and i dont see it yet....

  • dont think so

  • No, it wasnt, we DO see him drinking from a cup if memory serves me but we dont actually see him finishing it/having it lined up on the table next to all the other cups.

  • @cartoonexpert It was in the VHS version

  • Did you know that Bobcat Goldthwait is my favorite comedic actor, Thomas James Kenny's childhood friend?

  • THIS is why I want to get involved with the animating at Disney when i'm older. Not only do you have LOTS of fun making these, but once it's all done, you get a GREAT movie! :D

  • yea but those are the classics you dont see disney making animation like that anymore :/

  • true, all they make now is boring computer animations : <

  • @DisneySinger12 thats exactly why i do it

  • @DisneySinger12 Just be prepared to do a lot of work. 24 drawings per second of animation...keep that in mind.

  • this is the only clip i can see roger bart singing 'go the distance'...and it only lasts for a few seconds!...

  • You can?

  • one the greastest movies!!!
