  • If I smoke and hear this song I get fucking nostalgic. Like, I randomly had the memory come to mind of myself being 4 years old on an overcast midday after preschool and watching a vhs of the land before time and then my mum ordered a pizza. I had apple juice in a sippy cup.

  • Boards of Canada always bring out these really abstract feelings in my mind, and make me think of a place that is both existent and nonexistent, somewhere mingled in the reality we know.I feel like their music express the voices of some far away place. It's so profound. Fuckin dope.

  • OH, immm commminnng! YEAH

  • THIS SONG MAKES ME CRY!

  • i came here from trying and failing to listen to over the horizon radar on it's own because my brain was confused when this track didn't start.

  • Yes I can use this as background music in my dreams, excellence at it's finest

  • Boards of Canada, and space. Never ceases to amaze.

  • AMAZING

  • Aspiration- a brilliant mind.

  • I've heard this song hundreds of times and I still get goosebumps

  • this song blew my mind the first time i heard it; whole boc discog on shuffle, on acid, halloween night, it just took control of the trip... then the next song started. boc boc boc

  • @Vertsk8er419 yeah noone cares

  • @charlotterobbins1 ok? the post was stream of consciousness anyways, i forgot i had even made it until you responded. let me do what i do unless you feel you've got a better alternative, and let me know if so.

  • I love the part @ 2:40 when those "laa laaa laaa"'s come in, great way to complete the track .

  • @BigC25586 Lol; BoC bless you, too.

  • 4 people who work for NASA didin't like this video.....

  • Nasa gone thanks obama'

  • @Slasher2344

Actually, you can thank the Republicans for that, what with refusing to lower tax cuts for the rich and all, leading to us cutting our more frivolous/unnecessary expenditures (like space travel, though it is beautiful). Also thanks for bringing up political bullshit on such a great music related video.

  • @Slasher2344

NASA has just gone to smaller, unmanned, science-based programs for the time. There are some seriously cool and exciting missions currently underway and in the works, such as the James Webb Telescope. And Obama doesn't set NASA's budget, Congress does. So you should write to your representative about funding NASA.

  • @ajre82 Obama has done little or less than little to defend NASA and its increasingly miniscule budget though. Don't give him a free pass.

  • @IneptTroopr

Well what do you expect him to do? If he says we need more funding for NASA, he will get LESS. That's the way the Congress currently works. Regardless of your opinion of Obama, scientists have learned more about our universe in the past 10-15 years than they did in the previous 500. We don't live in an Cold War-driven Space Race anymore, and as our technology gets better, the need for multi-billion dollar projects is just a waste of money. Again, blame Congress.

  • @ajre82 Thanks Obamabot. Good hunting

  • nice :)

  • M0:00RE

  • Watching this Blazed= AMAAAAZING

  • It's a shame that the NASA shuttle program has been put to a halt and it probably won't come back for a while. Not to say that I would have a good chance in becoming an astronaut, but I've always wanted to go into outer space :(

  • reminds me of tiger tiger by duran duran

  • the first second to 0:12 was a beautiful moment.....

  • This song feels like it draws a lot from Lloop - Bulbbs

  • My name is Marcus. I was a homeless 20 year old living in Pleasant Hill of the bay area. I had a job and lived in a tent outside the city. I was a night owl by choice. I invested my money in music and jackets. And would walk from ten to five in the morning (ex.) and play this song from Pacheco to Walnut creek on foot. It puts BoC on the street scene. Which i would like more often to come upon. and not on mp3's... which is still good?

  • @JackandtheCoat NICE I ONCE SALVIA TRIPPED IN BAY AREA WITH BoC, ill always remember now there was a homeless guy walking around with BoC on somewhere around there. KEEP FLOWING WITH BoC BUT LISTEN TO DUBSTEP AND FLOW TO THAT ALSO

  • god damn sexy song

  • BOC is my religion.

  • the birds would pause to listen to this

  • You mean that was a sample of some girl fucking? I always thought it was a small child screaming at something in approval. Seriously. XD

Great work with the vid, BTW. Another great BoC vid. I sometimes wonder if the brothers have ever seen these nuggets of brilliance that have been put to their music. I hope they like them as much as I do.

  • This track is drugs.

  • @Ssprocker8

    Feel honoured

  • @StanleyDonwood Stanley you are a legend. I love your artwork and Radiohead so much. It's all bloody fantastic. Also, your website is great.

  • @StanleyDonwood How about you get a grip and take your bad attitude out on yourself instead of on others.

  • @StanleyDonwood who didnt ?

  • i always thought it was a baby. not a woman. a baby.

  • sounds very much like something i heard in circus cella i think is how its spelled

  • Love the little interludes they chuck into the background............ mind bending stuff! :D

  • Why would you not love this? I mean, it's not the kind of music I play daily at work.. This is the music I listen while on MDMA or LSD..

Simply beautiful! Thanks for posting! This is by FAR the best video with this song on Youtube!

  • play this song over top of rainymood trust me its epic

  • @GOGOCED Awesome!

  • the video suites it a lot, outerspace, galaxy kinda shit, i really like it

  • 3 people wish this was a new artist with with an autotuner.

  • dmt + this song = pure bliss

    intangible enlightenment

i still get shivers upon my entire body when I hear this song....

  • This song makes my brain go into Zero-G mode! Where all is mystical and fascinating! Like being a child all over again!

  • This music is not for everyone and you don't need drugs to enjoy Boards of Canada, you just need an open mind. You should be willing to try new things, listen to different music. If you don't like it, thats okay! If you do like it, great! I personally love BoC!

  • I am very aware that drugs enhance the effects of music.

But If you feel the urge to use them to enjoy this music more, then what we have is psychological addiction forming -- do not kid yourself.

Everyone assumes from the get-go that they are smarter than the average user -- that they won't fall into the nets of the drug -- that they are always thinking prudently.

I promise that a large number of addicts began with this thinking

  • This song is cool! Someone is having fun in the background early in the morning, hence the name 'Dawn Chorus'. Rather self-explanatory isn't it?

  • this is some heroin song right here haha, i see blue flowers they look tasty and i feel like eating them

  • this is some heroin music right here i see blue flowers, and i can eat them

  • Clearly a Song to listen to when baked.

  • Weed's enough

  • @much0J fuck that. this song was made for acid. try it

  • Lovely song

  • I DONT DO DRUGS... JUST WEED.

  • who ever did that music video, big thumbs up for capturing boards of canada's style :) LOVE THIS FREAKING SONG! stoned and sober alike (for the argument's sake)

  • DONT DO DURGS, just smoke pot.

  • Dawn Chorus... one of the most beautiful sounds I've heard in life ... ever

  • You are absolutely right about this song making anything seem majesic : )

I've named a lot of my screen names and email accounts after this song because it has had that much of an impact on me.

  • @Dawnchorus67 including ur youtube account lol

  • fbiao8ga a8erg4ghergarees duuuuuuuuudeeede>,! thisa is like a fuck its damn...

  • forget drugs, i get high on this music.

  • Almost all the top comments of Boards of Canada songs are either about doing drugs or about how you can enjoy this without doing drugs.

Drugs tend to enhance or dull senses, depending on the drug and the sense, thus it can have the same varying effects on listening to music or experiencing the world around you. On another note, Boards of Canada makes great music.

Why is everyone so fucking opinionated about this?

  • boards of canada is soo great overall, in this song i just got a suggestion : life goes on, feel good and never worry!

  • am actually waking up to this......woooooooooowwwwww

  • If the sun could ever play music while it rose up out of the horizon it would sound like this.

  • The main reason people enjoy psychotropic drugs (cannabis, mushrooms, LSD, etc) is because it raises one's level of awareness. So everything seems more beautiful and meaningful, music sounds better, etc. One can raise their level of awareness without the use of drugs (though they're a pretty fantastic shortcut).

  • "Music is a safe high" Jimi Hendrix

  • Never done drugs, drank alcohol, or anything, and this song is still pretty legit.

  • Music IS THE ULTIMATE drug (written by a drunk guy it is A Extre3me remark).

  • Or maybe Dawn Chorus is a nice morning pick-me-up

  • Listened to this when I was down in the dumps...lifted my spirits without any effort...absolutely magical feelin when I hear this...stoned or sober..every time

  • If any of you have listened to the album this song is on while tripping out you know that this song is a wonderful compliment to the song right before it . Just utter perfection in timing and pulling your emotions every which way.

  • Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaah!!!

  • this is just fuckin brilliant

  • I listened to this song just about 20 times before I picked up on the fact that some chick is taking it hard in the background

  • @bfizzledizzle Makes the song even better

  • @bfizzledizzle Two questions-

1: Where did you find this info? I heard someone else say that.

2: Do you mean the very prominent screams throughout the song, or the subtle ones near the end that sound like a chorus?

  • @Cyberdwarf14

The ones throughout that go, "aaahhh... ohhh"

    Total porn star orgasm

  • Really? To me it sounds like someone saying 'Mom? ..... Moooooom!?' like they're trying to wake her up but she won't wake up. Thus: Dawn Chorus.

  • @bfizzledizzle like an 8bit nintendo character porn star no doubt :)

  • @bfizzledizzle

haha, my girlfriend pointed it out to me. i didn't want to believe it.

  • This makes me think of intense love sessions into the early hours of the morning

  • I do drugs, therefore I listen to Boards of Canada.

  • 2:22 That would be SO MUCH FUN.

  • this song as well as alot of others from boards of canada def put me in a different world

  • The first time I listened to this song I had my speakers all the way up and I was eating this huge ice cream cone. Probably the best 3 minutes of my life.

  • All drugs are bad. Cannabis and mushrooms are safe though.

btw this is one of my favorite songs to listen to while gettin high.

  • @CNSagent DITTO I TOTALLY AGREE!!!

  • Favourite band... ever :)

  • Vaping a field of weed on the moon would create an atmosphere of pure THC.

  • @hohmassacr343 how would you vap anything in a zero oxygen environment?

  • @jackworrall89 really? you're an idiot.

  • @hohmassacr343 hahaha :P

  • I could imagine fucking stealing that rocket, hotboxing that shit with like 6 blunts and fucking blasting off into space with this song playing through some loud ass speakers.

  • BONGRIPS!

  • amazing tune!!

    cheers.

  • LIGHT THE BLUNT AND BLAZE IT!!!!!!!!

  • i thought this song had something to do with porn....you know the girl moaning....sounds like from pleasure.....

  • I was one of those kids when I was 4 or 5 years old who really really wanted to be an astronaut and travel to far away places and meet aliens and pilot my own space shuttle, but I had lost that feeling over time. But after watching this video, I kinda want to be one again and this is the song that I would play if I were to go up haha.

  • @hier0phant

Go suck a bible somewhere else jesus

  • You don't need drugs to enjoy this. This is coming from a sober person!

  • @IlyaKhleboyko

  • thank u for uploading a longer version!

  • wow it fit so perfectly..I actually watched it instead just listen to my song ahaha

  • ...."mellow and chilled for your listening pleasure"....

  • sounds scary to me when i hear the voices...But makes me think about life and what i can change in it

  • My first thought when it starts to fade out: noooo! I don't want it to end...

  • this video makes me wanna become an astronaut. what a fantastic track

  • great definition of time & space what a tune too...

  • crazy thing.. the chinease or the japanize sent seeds of peppers and some other vegtables and fruites into outer space and grew them back on earth and they grew amazingly CRAZY.

just a fact i thought you all should know.

  • This song embodies all of the confusion, perplexity, sadness and frustration of not just a single human's experiences, but the collective experience of humanity. How do they manage to tap into this?

  • Ahhh.... that's Boards of Canada for you... Almost as atmospheric and transcendent as Ulrich Schnauss. A very close second!

  • Hrm...I almost have to agree with you there. Ulrich is definitely second :) They're still both better than every other band... combined

  • oh yes, oh yes, quite, quite. One couldn't agree more! Yes the collective experience yes, yes. Stunningly beautiful yes indeed it is. How very complex and beautiful

  • Excellent video !!

  • This is cool :)

  • you definetly need drugs to enjoy this song to the max, sure you've litsened to this song, but have you litsened to this song, on WEED?
