For those getting stuck at G1 screen after applying the rc33 update try wiping the device first using alt+w THEN apply the update with alt+s.

well i tried rooting my g1 using files from the xda-developers website. and i was able to downgrade to the RC-29 and EVERYTHING seemed to work. the updates were completed and evertyhing but nothing worked. and now im trying to do yours but instead of the colorful screen (which i've gotten before) i get androids on skateboards. :/

just got the root access to RC 33 and its the shiznit. Its great you should check out the toggletether app on the market. Turns you phone into a WIFI router, but you need root access. awesome thanks

hey idk what im doing wrong i never unmodded my phone i have rc30 j.f 1.4 firm ware 1.0 i downloaded the link named it update.zip dragged it over to my g1 unmounted it power off home and end key a whole bunch of tect gos down my screen the it gos to the modded recover thing its already stared at alt l then i press alt s it down it starts to download stops immediatly and says update aboted(bad) i saw 2 other things alt x exit recovery and go to console and alt b nandoid v2.1 backup any ideas?

make sure that if you have vista windows just name it update... it will automatically turn into a zip file. if you name it update .zip, it will turn into "update.zip.zip" if you are running xp then you have to name it update.zip....
