  • iam geting the 2012 ford focus 5 door

  • How have you filmed this & drived at the same?

  • Man I hope you enjoy this car man your ride is decked out and its kicks ass I have a 2010 focus sel couldn't afford the 2k12 model. It's like you have a computer on wheels Ford wasn't playing around when they made this car nice ride bro

  • @Kwanze Thanks! MyFord Touch has been a disaster and the transmission isn't so hot either...but hopefully I can get MyFord Touch fixed and working properly after the 2.0 performance upgrade and actually start to like the car again

  • How much did you pay for it, after taxes and everything?

  • I'm glad I got the chance to test drive the focus because I now know that it's not for me. Being that I'm a tall guy it just didn't feel comfortable driving. It's roomy as far as sitting in the drivers seat but what I didn't like is that the gas petal is all the way in the right corner so it makes it a bit weird. I also don't like that when you accelerate and get up to speed it kind of jerks like a stick shift. I really thought I would it. It looks great on the outside.

  • Just bought one yesterday, my first brand new car. Love it!

  • Get mine in white in april. Cant wait!

  • My first new car is a 2008 ford focus I love it but wish I could have the 2012 now I like that one better now LOL :(

  • @dekilandd You should have a better reason to not drive with fog lights on other than "I don't think they look cool". My fog lights are set to ON at ALL times. Even during the day. If I had 6 more lights on the front, I would have all 10 of them on all the time too. The more light on the front of your car, the more noticeable you are to other drivers, and that means it's safer for you.

  • Comment removed

  • Nice car but you shouldn't use the fog lights if there is no fog. I hate persons that are driving with the fog lights always turned on just to look cool, because they aren't.

  • @dekilandd i always drive with the parking lights on, on my car it looks coooool

  • @camaroman101 LMAO :D

  • @dekilandd I love my fog lamps! >:p & not to look cool. Here in Chicago with horrible city streets, at night the fog lamps help to illuminate pot holes and hard bumps more brightly. But I understand what you mean. I really can't stand people who don't know to switch there're headlamps all the way on. For some reason they believe the DRL's are full intensity. Grrrr lol

  • awesome car! i would love to have one

  • like this car can you do a video in sports mode would really like to see its full acceleration with auto maual mode many thanks.:)

  • @JaccobAmilla14 search my videos, you'll find some 0-60 and Sport mode videos

  • maldição esse carro vai vir para o brasil custando 100% Á mais doque nos estados unidos isso chega a me dar desanimo

  • @killarshark33 I don't have it and I wouldn't bother getting it on a car this small. In order to get it, you have to order the $1,295 Titanium Premium Package and that allows you to then order the $795 Parking Technology Package...so that's a lot of money if you really want just that one feature.

  • PJ amongst the waves at 1:46

  • First of all I appreciate your reviews ! I am considering purchasing the 2012 ford focus titanium hatchback. My questions are as follows 1) I see on your console you are averaging 17 mpg, have you not driven it much? b/c the mpg claims it averages in the 30's? 2) Do you have a rear back up camera, and if so , can you see it at night from the white reverse lights?3) I have 2 dogs, do the back seats fold flat & is there room for 2 dogs to lay comfortably? 4) Push button start, Key start? Thanks!

  • @hurricane8813 The car gets about 33mpg, this was just the night I brought it home from the dealer...it had been idling A LOT. No back-up camera. Kinda tight for two dogs unless you get the hatch. The key inside the fob is for the door, use that to pop the panel off on the steering column and then insert the fob into the column the touch button to start if the battery dies in the fob.

  • @hurricane8813 There's an available back-up camera. Notice he doesnt have leather seats and all the bells and whistles? There's more to be got in this car.

  • The only things I dont like is that you cant get those gauges from the ford edge and explorer and hid projectorlamps. other than that great car.

  • Why would you want to use fog lights, when there is no fog? In the UK, (not sure about NA) it's a motoring offence which you'd get 3 points and £60 fine for improper use of fog lights

  • @rangersfcf1 That is the most bizarre thing I've ever heard! Nobody cares in the US when you use fog lights, I use them because they make the road illumination more even. In the US they're usually considered a sporty feature to have and are mostly used to enhance the styling of a vehicle. Many people like the look of a car when it has its fog lights on so that's another reason.

  • @mercmilan06 The police here in UK say it's because it "can blind other drivers" - understand if it is the rear fogs that go on but front? we have some strange laws here! Regards of road illumination, we have Xeon bulbs in our focus' (I am about to take delivery of my Zetec in a couple of weeks!) but I know they dont in the USA as they have Halogen bulbs. Do you not think it would be better to get Xeon bulbs if you can? helps the road illumination massivly! Do you have the auto parking feature?

  • @rangersfcf1 Yeah I think the xenon bulbs would help, but the fog lights help make the road illumination even right in front of the car past the front bumper. Mine doesn't have auto parking, that would have added another $2,000 to the price of the car because you have to order the Titanium Premium Package before you're allowed to order the Parking Technology Package

  • @rangersfcf1 here in the US they dont do much except for look cool...you cant really call them "fog lights"

  • @mercmilan06

In Poland also when you using fog lights you breaking the law. You get 2 points and 100 pln fine. And that's not all about the lights, using "long lights" (Idk, how is caled in english. this blue icon) in the city is also forbidden, 200 pln fine.

  • @mercmilan06 i dont know what part of the us you are from but people do care....

  • the european model is greater :X with many more options instaled

  • lol oh man

  • There is automatic headlights!!! Im driving this car =)

  • that blue color on the dash makes it so lovely..

  • Someone will crash trying to navigate that ridiculous touchscreen! Bluetooth connection is cool though. Steering is way too light for me, making it feel too light and not solid. Sure, it's a slow car, but a letdown for me from a stop. Nothing compares to HID headlights-shame on you Ford! Key-less is cool. Driving it, it nice and quiet, but not like a luxury car! In a few years, it will probably start falling apart like good 'ol Fords do. The rear spoiler is not aligned. Quality bad.

  • does changing of the ambient lighting has an effect on the color of the switchsymbols?

  • @netchecker3 nope, it only changes the color of the cup holder light, foot wells, door handle, and map pockets

  • I thought the Titanium version had Xenon lights already installed. You don't seem to have Xenon lights. What happened?

  • @GamerAndReviewer not the North American models, they're all just halogens...we don't even get projector lenses

  • @mercmilan06 OK. =)

  • Honestly hows your MPG?

  • @kotwicki90 very good, the car was idling a lot that day so that's why it looks so bad. If I'm just commuting back and forth to work or school, I get 35mpg (now that is it broken in)...if I do a bit more in-town errands or something, the average will slip down to 34 or 33 depending. (I reset the trip computer each time I fill it up and it is accurate to about 0.3mpg last time I checked)

  • Thanks for the vid! Would you recommend the car for a new driver?

  • @iMustafa7 Yeap! Great MPG, easy to drive, fun without being overly-powerful, packed with safety features...just a great car for anybody really

  • @mercmilan06 Thanks!

  • Do all the Ford Focus trims come with push button start and ambient lighting? Like the SE, SEL or only the Titanium?

  • @cmccane Push-button start: Titanium only (standard equipment). Ambient lighting: SEL and Titanium only (standard equipment)...random fact: SEL and Titanium also have auto up/down on all 4 power windows

  • Love the blue that is great!

  • Pulllman Standard playing at Kansas State Fair Sept 15,2011, and is participating in Ford "Gimme The Gig II." Search Gimme The Gig II on YouTube, then cast your vote for Pullman Standard.

    PEACE

  • Thank you for your review, i think it is a really good & pretty car because there are all what need a driver, I mean very comfortable system!

But can smd answer for my 2 questions:

    1. How much does it cost in USA

    2. Why in this car to install a big screen at the center and in other Fords Focus of this modelы screens are very small??!!

Or it depend on the mode so I saw the headline "Ford Focus 2012 Titanium"...!! I don`t understand it((

  • @Dmitrij40Kot Thanks, this car is $23,465. This car is equipped with the best audio system you can get, some less expensive Focus models have the MyFord system which includes the smaller screen. In the USA, the Titanium model comes standard with this larger 8" MyFord Touch screen, which is paired with the premium Sony Audio system

  • мне кажется отличным этот автомобиль, по соотношению цены и комплектации - там есть почти все что нужно и что не встретишь в автомобилях подобных марок.Теперь осталось посмотреть его в эксплуатации)

  • I like this car! In Russia Focus 2 was the most popular cheap car, and now I think that new Focus more better. I like new design, new economical engine and technological DSG. And main quality of this car is price. You can buy Ambiente 1.6 105hp if you have $15000. Russian Lada Priora Luxe coast $14000. And what price in USA on basic version?

  • @177emin the base U.S. price for an S sedan is $16,500...my car was $23,465

  • @mercmilan06

I know that in USA secondary student can buy this car, because $15000-20000 is not big money for them. Is it true? Or maybe this price higher than usual cheap car for students. Thank you for answer:)

  • @177emin For a brand new car it isn't that expensive, but it really depends on the student's financial situation. The only reason I can afford to lease a new car is because I live at home, this car costs me a lot less than living on campus so for a commuter student like myself I can pay for it.

  • @mercmilan06

And what about fullsize car? For example Chevy Impala or Ford Crown Victoria. Big size, big engine V8. Or epoch of this cars has passed? And "f..ck fuel economy" now is not actually?

  • @177emin The only people left who like those types of cars are pretty much rednecks and old people who refuse to admit that they don't need those large wasteful hunks of junk and that there are much more practical and fuel efficient means of transportation

  • Those roads are crazy no street lights anywhere :o .. Great car!! Really want to get one, the sound of that engine is class aswell!!

  • В USA другая версия авто! Основной монитор шире в разы!

  • looks good man, while im a bigger car guy myself, im drawn into the better mpg and technology on these cars.

keep us posted on the mpg and reliability.

how many miles are you at now?

    thanks

  • @adnamarie it has about 1,850 miles on it and I'm getting 34mpg out of it now :) ...no issues with reliability yet

  • Fuel economy ratings for the 2012 Ford Focus Titanium are 27 city/37 highway.

  • damn dude...17.7mpg is terrible for that car! You must be dogging it pretty hard...I get close to 20 avarage with my 2011 Ford F-150 FX4 5.0L V8.

  • @MercuryMorrison1 uh not really, the car was brand new and I had never reset the trip computer...this is what happens when cars idle a lot before you drive them and don't reset the trip computer. I get over 34mpg with this car

  • damn ... ur car is overheat!!!!

  • is it pretty quick?

  • @chrisw40 my best 0-60 time is 8.2 seconds...feel pretty quick but not anything spectacular, gotta rev it a bit (isn't too much low-end torque) but the PowerShift 6spd DSG gives great throttle response because it operates like a manual transmission

  • @mercmilan06 not bad.

  • Nice to see the German version of the Focus over here. Should have been here years ago. That version is light years ahead of the old version. The interior workmanship and materials is like what you find in much more expensive cars. It's quiet, very good looking, and I love the blue instrumentation. All that and it's built right here in the good old USA....Wayne, Michigan. The engine's built in Dearborn, Michigan. So we Americans can have our cake and eat it too for a change.

  • thats an annoying turn signal omg!!!

  • I still don't entirely what the mean by fog lights. Is it specificity used for fog?

  • @scvs2 not specifically, but they're called fog lights because they're mounted low on the car and are supposed to illuminate the road w/o too much glare back from the fog as you would get from just using the regular head lamps

  • @mercmilan06 The correct usage of fog lights in severely thick fog is to only switch on your side-lights (tail lights and dim front lights) with the fog lights switched on. This eliminates all glare from headlights.

  • @scvs2 Fog lights are indeed only for fog. In Europe you will get fined for using them when it's not foggy as they do cause unnecessary glare to other drivers, especially over hill crests. On a clear night they only illuminate a few feet from the front bumper anyway so there is no benefit from them when there's no fog. I've known a lot of people who have paid fines for having them on, and many people think they look nice.

  • @toyota4life94 Dude, I love Toyota.....a lot.....but Ford has come a long way, and this is a great car, not just in my opinion either, but many people. You are obviously hating and stubborn for the sake of being stubborn.

  • that looks awesome at night. I am waiting for my own SEL I ordered. I wanted Titanium, but I insisted on a manual and the highest trim for a manual in Canada was the SEL. I can't wait!!!!

  • motortrend recently said this about the 2012 ford focus titanium..."The downside is that this cheater rubber raised substantial doubts about the driveability of regular Foci. Absent the extra stick, what would distract from a dual-clutch transmission dubbed "horrible" and "half-baked?" "It's clunky at low speeds and rough when starting from a stop. To top it off, the shifts don't feel much faster than in any other auto in the group," noted Evans."...any truth to this?

  • @ghost1103 Motor Trend sucks, the Focus came in 1st place in a Car & Drive and Automobile mag comparison test...the standard car handles very well and rides smoothly/quietly and is very fun to drive still and the standard rubber is more practical to live with...they're just pissed PowerShift isn't as snappy as the VW DSG that my mom has which is a performance transmission, this car still has to have mass-market appeal...the tranny can be jerky at low speeds, but that's expected from a DSG anyway

  • @mercmilan06 DSG is not a performance transmission, and its not jerky, its in fact the smoothest of all double-clutch systems. And its fitted to all kinds of VW group car, even the 1,2 liter engine, so its not a transmission for performance cars only.

  • @derbigpr500 Besides, Powershift (same as 99% of Focus components) was developed by european Ford division in Koln, Germany, and they had the VW's DSG set as a benchmark and tried to reach the level of performance that DSG offers, since Focus was mainly developed to compete against on european market against VW Golf, Audi A3, Citroen DS4, BMW 1, etc...sadly, american Ford had fingers in development too, which shows in couple of aspects which are worse than in old Focus...

  • @derbigpr500 What do you consider the New Focus does worse than the 2nd generation? It is my understanding that people complain about the EPAS being too light and lacking feedback. I own a Focus 2 and I can set the EHPAS to comfort, standard or sport mode, I think the New Focus has this feature too.

PS: I think the improper use of vehicle lighting is an offence in all the EU. However, I find 'daylight running lights' to be quite useful, and on the New Focus they look very very cool.

  • @ghost1103 I hate motortrend. Cheater rubber? WTF you dont take off points for this you add on becuase Ford has the balls to offer summer rubber. Having rode in a new Focus i can say there is a slight shudder from a stop but then its mostly smooth shifting.

  • @yellowcow13 haha i like motortrend but i was kinda disappointed about what they had to say about the focus....i think its a really nice car.....i would probably still buy it however its a little disappointing that the transmissions shudders.

  • @ghost1103 You have to really look for it to feel the shudder. I have noticed that motrotrend has been hating on Fords a lot lately. Superduity, Explorer, Focus.... Every one else loves those.

  • @ghost1103 DSG problems can be solved by getting the 5-speed. Cheaper price tag, cheaper to replace, easier to fix, faster shifts (with practice), & 0-60 in under 8 seconds from what I've heard.

  • Impressive looking cockpit at night.

  • so wonder what gas milage manual get if the auto only gets 17 mpg

  • @dieselboy77 i didn't reset the trip computer and the car only had like 20 something miles on it.....this car gets 31-32mpg for me in combined driving so far, just under 500 miles on it now

  • @toyota4life94 then go be miserable in that cheaply made, slow, boring econobox.

  • @toyota4life94 think what you want, but toyota along with many other auto makers are rushing to make something to compete with ford's sync and myfordtouch system

  • @toyota4life94 By the way, why the hell are you watching this video if you hate ford so much? go watch someone test drive a piece of shit Corolla

  • @toyota4life94 good, i just replied because that was just an extremely stupid comment. especially since toyota is copying ford with their entune system. thats not just an opinion by the way.

  • @toyota4life94 just an fyi, toyotas are the most boring cars to drive because of their inferior chassis

  • soooooo sexyyyy

  • Does the start button light up at all?? Everything else seems to

  • @mgillign yes the start button lights up at night :)

  • @mercmilan06 Thanks, btw a Myford touch video would be awesome!

  • is that 17 mpg accurate?

  • @carguy379 no this was idling at lot for the first few miles of it's life (which makes you get 0mpg) so that made it read low and I hadn't reset it yet....I am averaging about 31mpg with the car right now

  • btw does it have a 7k or 6500k redline?

  • @xoquixxoqafxo believe 6500! it would easily do 7000+ but bcuz is automatic it will prolly not pass 6500 .

  • damn, the interior looks really beautiful at night :) I just wish you could get HIDS on this car tho! But congrats :D

  • Wow. Never seen a car with exterior light monitor. That's very nice and unique!

  • @sjvirchow what those many people say is true, but the accuracy of the voice control totally makes up for it....MyFord Touch is not as bad as the media would like you to think it is, I actually like it a lot!

  • "enjoy the ride" haha thats Nissan

  • I'm pretty sure you said your pre-ordered this one... did you get an okay deal considering it was pre-ordered or did you get less off because it wasent on the dealers lot?

  • @steve9509 didn't really have any negotiating room, but I got a $500 instant rebate for being a college student and they gave me a pretty decent trade in price on a 2002 Taurus with a ruined torque converter (brother's old car, he's taking over the payments on my 2006 Milan and I leased this Focus)

  • does that one come with a back up camera?

  • @Munden4411 this one doesn't have the Premium package or the Parking Technology package, so it doesn't have a backup camera

  • Interesting acceleration dynamic, geared just like the Fusion, if not shorter. It barely moves at all under 2500 RPM, but 2700-2900 looks like a sweet spot for it. it hauls in the higher speed range. I think I could get along with this over the 3.0 in the Fusion. They seem to pull about the same rate.

  • So why didn't you chose the Jetta? I personally find the Jetta more interesting.

  • @LoveTheCity123 the 2011 Jetta is an awful car by comparison to this car and the old one if you ask me...worse gas mileage, worse interior, bland styling, way less features, cheaper suspension, over-priced, it doesn't have a DSG anymore for gas models...the 2011 is a huge disappointment to me considering how awesome my mom's 2012 Jetta Wolfsburg is

  • @mercmilan06 **2010 Jetta Wolfsburg

  • @LoveTheCity123 It's SO ugly, and has been dumbed down to compete with the likes of the Toyota Corolla etc... the old model would have been a competitor to this Focus.
