  • you make the crowd feel every note that you play. that shows passion. don't let anyone tell you that you aren't good because its a lie. you have what every great guitar player has, Heart and Soul.

  • If you enjoy the T_man you really need to check out Quinn Sullivan he is also 8 and is probably a step better then the T-man. It would be cool to see them both play together.

  • I agree he is not a prodigy,he is a hardworkin kid. watch Joe Bonamassa as kid, that's a prodigy. The problem is once T-man becomes a teenager the novalty runs out and he is just one of thousands of great guitarist. He needs to widen his music scope so he will continue to stand out in the music world. I have met T-man and his dad and they have the right attitude to handle any situation. As most of us musicians know the music business can fuck you up. Good luck T-man, You have a great start.

  • Thanks for the comment. You mentioned Joe Bonamassa, so this is a quote from Joe about Tallan.

Joe Bonamassa said of Tallan T-Man Latz, "You are a true prodigy and I am very proud of you.. from one blues wonder kid to another. You are so far ahead me at your age its not funny."

Hope to see you around sometime backroadjunkie, please say hello.

  • that's a prodigy.

  • I don't mind a teenager or older making me look bad but this is depressing.

    Nice job kid!

  • i love texas flood haha whats the True story on this deal?

  • a bit messier than usual in my opinion, but still pretty damn good.

  • very gooddd!!!!!!!!!!

  • He bends those notes and puts his body into it the way SRV used to. Interesting.

  • he isn't that good. He has been taking lessons for like 3 years. it doesn't matter the age. blues is the easiest kind of music that's why everyone plays it at one point. He is pretty good but no prodigy like he is dubbed.

  • ....

    WHAT?

  • 2@ Blues scales easy fair enough but to play the blues with this kind of feeling, very special

  • dumb asss you half to play blues before you play anything else

  • Blues is the easiest kind of music...what in the world are you talking about haha. You just dont know.

  • you dont know what your talking about

  • I am saying that blues is definately not the easiest kind of music...lets take a look at some of the best guitarists in the world... Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Winter, Rory Gallagher, Jeff Beck, T Bone Walker...to name just a few...what kind of music do they play? Yep, blues.

  • yo is that a squire or a fender becuse if you can get those sounds of a squire not bad i am asking becusse i have never played a squire before plz some 1 reply

  • I've been playing for 33 years, and trust me, this little dude is the real deal.He blows me away with what he's accomplished at an age where most kids still can't even spell guitar....

  • ARE YOU KIDDING ME! I LOVE THIS KID!

  • good job tman....but the "showing off" in your playing and style is kind of a turn off to your audience...tone it down and be more humble or youll fade away. best of luck in the future ;)

  • T-man live for the guitar. Don't let anything sway ur concentration on what you love. Think your own thoughts, be your own person. Learn. Live. Love. Nothing is more important than your passion for doing what you do.

  • when you devote ur brain to something everything else gets a lil fuzzier lol. I know exactly why this kid seems like he has autism lol.

  • Hes good for his age, Definetly no Stevie though...yet

  • I think it would be impossible for an 8 year old to play blues like this unless he was a reincarnated master like SRV. This is unreal.

  • You are looking at SRV people. This is a big league reincarnation.

  • does he have like a mental problem or something

  • i'd like you to play like he does

  • Great Job kid. Keep playing no matter how many people try to put you down

  • can't wait to see how good he is in a few years... IMO he really just needs to learn how to stay on beat and play with more dynamics, not just loud and fast... keep it up lil man... u could destroy me yesterday, today and tomorrow.

  • every good. butyou dint play the solo the same.

  • Anyone who covers a blues song note for note is playing it wrong. That's playing from memory, not from the heart---> not the blues.

  • Wow...the kid has really strong hands.

And he couldnt have a better influence.

Too bad all kids his age couldnt be as concentrated on what they do in life.

Totally fucking Amazing! go Srv! Go kid. I'll be looking for you soon enough!

  • wow ur good. Did you learn by ear, or by notes. How do people learn by ear, I am taking guitar lessons nd I still suck compared to u

  • i am self taught. and i learn by ear. its just something thats natural i guess, u got it or u dont.

  • I'm 20...and I want to be you. Strange how that works isn't it?

  • lol. he rocks

  • cantai como una loquita que hubico paisaneke

  • The only thing i think this kid needs to work on his his timing. It's off in some spots but other than that, Awesome job man. Don't ever give up.

  • OMG DUDE!!!! your incredible! im twice your age and i cant even attempt SRV! props to you :)

  • your a cocksucker, hes 8

  • damn that kid must have had a rough childhood to feel the blues that well :)

  • this kid and that yuta miyazawa are the next up and coming guitar greats.

    keep it going.

    great

  • My bands playing a show with this kid at Knuckleheads saloon October 19th. Hes a badass

  • Great job kid! Keep up the hard work!

  • i hope his elementary school band mates can hang with him....i dought it..

drop the drum machine and get a solid rhythm section!

    good job kid!!

  • Man I saw this kid on the news and he is amazing. Most 8 year old boys are busy playing with legos and this kid rocks harder than most of the people i know?! There's no debate, he kicks ass.

  • yo grim.....your brain activity is grim.

  • grimchain are you retarded? "Unless of course they have a disorder that impairs there motor skills." Some people's motor skills are just better than others, making it easier for them to learn to play the guitar. What you're saying is basically the same as saying if anyone wanted to they could be in the NBA as long as they practiced enough. Some things just come easier to some people. And crosscutsaw333, I hope you're kidding; I'm sure you couldn't do anything this well when you were eight.

  • good..but not as good as me

  • did u read my comment i said u made a good point, and maybe there is talent passed on trough genetics. but wat im saying is the iin this particular case i think the kid just practice alot.

  • Good point. One of the first intelligent arguments i have seen on youtube. Most ppl would just say "no ur stupid" or something like that. But yeah still this kid just practiced alot. Not that he isnt good but i dont think i would consider him a prodigy until he composes something great

  • Ok i am not on expert on genetics. But i never said that motor skills and such can not be passed down in genes. Wat i am saying is the actual ability to play guitar can not be passed down. And anyone can learn to play like this kid if they practice alot for 3 years regardless of the genes. Unless of course they have a disorder that impairs there motor skills.

  • very sloppy, horrible singing, poor note choices, same old boring licks, retard face making, congratulations kid, your are the next eric crapton.

flame away, I'm not the one who posted the horrible covers... If the kid wants to be recognized as a musician, he needs to become one first... a word of advice, come back in ten years tman, you have potential, just quit posting this substandard blues usurpury in the meantime.

  • he's 8. How many licks does the average 8 year old even have?

  • Far out man! Wow!

  • well spoken lamerica80

  • Will you fucking morons stop mixing in satan and god and shit in this.. This little dudes got talent and he will bang more bitches between age 16-17 than you ever will in a lifetime.

  • Go watch Yuto Miyazawa. You'll get there, little dude.

  • You rock little dude!!!

  • Attention: Anyone leaving negative comments or giving ratings under five stars: you guys are all fucking idiots. this kid is amazing. all i hear is a bunch of bitter wannabas that will probably never be able to play this song as well as this kid can at eight. fuck off.

  • WOW stupidest comment i ever read. The ability to play guitar can not be passed down in genes. Some ppl may be more creative in song writing but the acual abilty to play is not genetic. I just read a article on this kid and it said he practice countless hours for 3 years. because he was passionate about guitar. I bet that u could learn to play like this if u practice 6 hours a day for the next year, might have took this kid longer because he is pretty young.

  • Some people catch on quicker then others :P You'd see that it's best to start kids early, their brains are like sponges and they catch on alot easier, everything is like that, it's best to start early.

  • This kid is nasty. Saw him on CNN/HLN this AM

Wish I could play like that when I was 8.

    Rock on kid.

  • cute

  • He's good, but hes not the best, it'll come to him, he definetely needs to wear the guitar higher so he can get some more feel for the frets. :)

  • Thats like telling me to tie my shoes tighter because it would feel better... trust me, this kid knows what feels good to him... and for he 8-10 year old bracket YES, he IS the best.

  • I'm just saying, cause he's alittle off timing.

  • I've high-fived this kid after a festival once! He's the man, and a great guitarist who really loves and feels what he does. I hope he goes places because he really deserves it.

  • If this kid or his parents or any of you actually cared about your eternal souls, you would be researching the spiritual lives these rock stars he emulates have lived. It is a FACT that MANY rock stars including Hendrix were HEAVILY involved in the occult and openly admitted they are possessed by demons. Not all talents come from God. Satan gives "gifts" too. Rock is the tool of the devil and always has been, leading countless souls to rebel against God. You all need to wake up b4 it's too late.

  • Sounds like its too late for you to wake up at all

  • Seriously dude, fuck off.

  • God isn't real, LOL

  • God doesn't exist :P

  • To vatican2refuter: Hmm... From your username I'm guessing you might be one of those Pius X Society weirdos or something similar. I've had family members get mixed up with your lot and I have to say you have some very strange ideas.

To joeFCKNenabnit and ZacksArt: do you have any proof of that? If you do, take my advice, write a book and watch the money roll in. If you don't, how can you say with such finality that God doesn't exist?

Oh, and great guitar skills for an 8-year-old.

  • Nice that someone this young can play this well but there are lots of great young players. Anton Oparin kicks everyone's ass, but as far as young blues guitarists, T-Man & Quinn Sullivan are both good. I think Quinn is better though because he has more of his own style, is tastier & can actually sing. IMHO Tallan sounds like a weak version of SRV. But I'd like to see them in a band together, because it might be a good thing for both of them...as long as Tallan didn't insist on singing.

  • Marc Storace, a vocalist with the heavy-metal band Krokus, told Circus magazine: "You can't describe it except to say it's like a mysterious energy that comes from the metaphysical plane and into my body. It's almost like being a medium..." "Little Richard" had similar experiences and identified Satan as the source of his inspiration: "I was directed and commanded by another power The power of darkness ... that a lot of people don't believe exists. The power of the devil. Satan."

  • Hail Satan.

  • I think you'll find that the Beatles' "possession" had more to do with LSD than with demonic activity.

  • and yes, i can easily play this stuff, and ive seen PANTLOADS of kids do the same.

  • most "prodigies" like this focus on learning blues songs or shitty tapping exercises that impress the ignorant. play us something original that is as interesting as the music the greats made, then youll be a prodigy. the only impressive thing about you currently is your amazing attention span, especially for a little kid. but still, monkey see, monkey do for the time being. mozart=prodigy, you=something else

  • You're just jealous because by the time he's your age he'll probably be the best damn guitar player in the world.

  • ooooh, ouch!

  • hater.. if u cant do better, shut ur ass up... u be hatin cause u cant be in his place.. shame on ya'll jealous of a kid???? satan's child?? serious??? stupid haters...

  • All good gifts come from God not Satan, this boy is God gifted. Next thing theyll be saying Beethoven or Mozart got their music from Satan.....come on please. This chhild is incredible, kudos to his parents for spotting and nurturing that talent.

  • It's not a gift, it's called practice, hes been playing for 3 years, he just progresses fast. God doesn't exist :P

  • No one said he got a gift from satan but that he sold his soul to satan. But i think that he just practiced.

  • Im 18 and I don't think I'll ever be this good. keep on kicking ass kid

  • Right now he is only mimicking, which is how we all start out. I hope his parents are encouraging him to try to come up with own stuff. It will help to keep things interesting for him as he gets older. I dig it. Yeah, he is a kid, but if he was a grown man this would still be impressive. God, has given this kid a gift

  • For an 8 year old kid he sure can play the blues. If he is this good now just wait till he is 16....move over guys Tallan is in town.

  • Actually, it's more probable that this so-called prodigy made a pact with Satan in order to play like this. Or, his parents made a pact in his place. This is no joke, it does happen. Countless rock stars have admitted doing as much, and have admitted to being possessed when performing. Check out these documentaries: "They Sold Their Souls for Rock N Roll" and "Rock N Roll Sorcerers of the New Age" at:

    w w w . goodfight . o r g

  • i hate you

  • Yeah i think since alot of rock is consider to be the "Satanic" that they probably say that for publicity.

  • nice talent, just keep outta the bars please

  • what a born loser that guy(theherm) is. ragging on a 8yo kid? come on man.just cuase your a nobody and always will be. go die.

  • >It doesn't matter anyway. Blues guitar is dead

So he shouldn't be playing what he likes?

  • hes choosing to play the blues, and the blues arent dead

  • THeHerm, you jealousy is palpable. Sounds like you are a guitarist who didn't have the talent or ability to make it.

This kid is amazing, as he grows his interests will change and he will apply his gift to other forms of music. For now, he is just a kid having fun.

  • now this makes me a believer in reincarnation

  • It doesn't matter anyway. Blues guitar is dead and fucked out. This is just one more white kid with no sense of what's actually going on. He'll just grow up to be a parrot, little else. But hey, he does have decent chops in Em....

  • blues guitar will never die...

  • sheee-it, dud you rule. I just read an article online about the bastards who are trying to keep you from playing plive. These are people who couldn't draw a box on their etch-a-sketches at 8. I SAY, LET TALLAN PLAY. You're an inspiration man. I can't wait to get home and show may 5 year old son (huge KISS fan) what he can look forward to.

  • this kid cant sing BOOO!!!!!!!

  • The prodigy. The grand State of Wisconsin sould showase this talented blues guitarist

  • O.O omg wow!

  • An incredible prodigy, but how 'bout turnin' the kid onto some jazz guitar stuff that doesn't involve the 8 year old interpretation of the melancholy of blues. I'd love to hear what he can do.

  • yo fender needs to design him a guitar more his size... sick chops for a little man though, needs to work on his timing but that'll come soon enough

  • I'm just glad you've got the good artists as

your inspirations and not these new morons of

today's music, you just rock man!!

    Haha I feel so inferior.But I don't care!Yeah!!

  • you deserve cookie and milk!

  • the best thing about his playin is he just lets it flow ,never looks down at his guitar or thinks about it . he just lets it flow out SRV style. i love it. ten years from now we should be in for a treat.

  • Keep on playing those blues little guy!

All your recent news exposure is only going to make you more popular! Keep rolling with the punches and laying down those licks!

  • Awesome!! Just think how good he'll be in

    another 5 years...

  • Mind boggling it will be. I think we are seeing SRV's spirit popping back up to grace us once again

  • nah, SRV is a legend but this kid is his own person. Influenced heavily by SRV but that's it.

  • he should be fairly good he practices 3 hours a day on theses licks

  • well done kid!!!you are amazing. keep practice !!!nice voice!!! !!extreme guitar player!!!

  • He is 8 years old and he plays other things as well as the guitar. And as for setting up kids with early lessons with guitar or anything else; how many kids would stick with it or even practice? Let alone make the choice to start playing on their own.

  • im gonna speak the truth. yes hes good. but three years. i mean he should know a little bit more about phrasing and more scales besides a minor pentatonic. but other than that it is very pleasing

  • I was underwhelmed with his technique, but surprised by his phrasing. I expected to feel the opposite from a young kid.

  • Good Job learning how to play an actual instrument instead of wasting your time playing guitar hero or rock band. Keep it up!

  • What strings does he use 8 or 9s? Cause if hes bending with 10s or more with such small hands with that nice vibrato even more kudos to him!

  • Nice T-Man! Keep up the good work!

  • pretty damned cool that a little kid has a handle on the mindset of blues playing. Can't wait til he hits puberty and his voice really comes in ... he's got some cojones for aiming his sights high. Just look at Henry Garza of LLB, who cites SRV as a major influence in his blues guitar playing

  • BTW, at 8 I was competing with teen and adult black belts in military Tae Kwon Do. You don't know me dipshit.

  • And know one wants to know you, you sound like a ignorant pile of garbage.

If you were such a star at 8, why didn't anyone know who you were?

  • Cry me a river you pussy fart. I'm not impressed, he's not one of a kind, get over it. Any kid given guitar lessons at such an early age could be doing the same.

  • and no not any kid given guitar lessons at an early age could be doing that.....

  • You're naive. Do a search on Youtube, he has a lot of competition. The kids that will "make it big" will generally be the ones that are coming from a well off financial background or have family with contacts in the entertainment business.

  • Please. at 8, you were still pissing yourself. Probably still are now.

  • At 8, I could have split your face in half with a jumping spinning back kick ya moron.

  • Amazing. He's probably a better player than Stevie Ray when he (SRV) was eight. When his playing truly matures, we may just have another guitar legend.

  • Call Elkhorn, Wisconsin city council at (262)723-2219 and let them know what you think! lets get this kid back to doing what he loves! Take back our freedom.

  • i wish i could play like you.

The guitar is biger tham you lol. Grat play.

  • Great start but still a looooong way to go

  • I bet at 8 you were doing half this good right? Lets see some raw footage from you son. Put it up! Thought so. When hes twenty I hope he comes back and comments on your kids ability to solve single digit math lol.

  • I don't care how old he is, I'm not an ass kisser like you are you fucking pedophile. A lot of these "prodigies" don't end up turning into the virtuosos they're billed as when they're kids. Guys like Malmsteen, Laiho-been playing since they were his age and I surpassed them after playing for 4 years. Cry me a river thuimble dick.

  • Really. What's your name ? When you have your first album nominated for best rock intstrumental by the time you are 20 let me know and then we'll say you have passed Malmsteen. That's the problem with "musicians". They think because they can play somebody else's music that they are at least at good as that person. Creating music that other people actually want to listen to is a far cry from spending 24 hours a day in your basement copying somebody else.

  • I have never studied any guitarists material. I formulate all my own arpeggios and material. I'm unimpressed, go cry about it and have momma change your diaper. Search youtube, plenty of kids his age with parents dumping money into skateboard lessons, guitar, karate, drawing and the arts in general. He's doing great for a kid his age but I'm not bowled over or going to throw oodles of praise his way because unlike you, I know humility is far more important than building an ego for child.

  • ok ok, calm down.. I think you are the only one getting your panties in a bunch over this. And if you really play guitar, you are a liar saying you never studied any guitarists material. Every guitar player does or has. I don't doubt you make up you own licks, or music. But to say you never play anyone elses stuff is retarded, unless you don't know how to play and you just hit strings and blindly put your fingers on different frets.

  • You are the ones that need to calm down. I stated my opinion and your brainwashed group mentality took over and got childish and nasty. It's as though people like you belong to "The Borg" from Star Trek the Next Generation. Studying a guitarist's material as opposed to learning a few riffs isn't by any means the same thing. As of right now, this kids just one more guitarist out of MILLIONS that strive to be SRV, nothing special about that at all. SRV is overplayed and overrated.

  • chidlish and nasty! you are clearly dillusional. You calling everyone on here names, then you write that.

By the way was that you on your page? was that your music, I would rather listen to this Kid anyday then that garbage you were playing.

  • you should do some research on this kid i think....they say hes a child prodigy...

so your opinion of "great for a kid his age"....is a little bit of an understatement...

ur jelous that youll never, and can never be as good as hes gonna be

  • Yes and who are they?

People with a special interest in his career dumbass. I'm not impressed so please, cry me a river for not showering him in praise. He's got a long way to go if he wants to work in commercial entertainment. I currently have very little competition as a guitarist and musician. Now go back to jacking off to your Jonas Bros. videos.

  • he does have a long way to go, if he wants to be the best ,good thing he has the rest of his life to get better

  • It's not so much about being the best, it's about learning the business and also developing something new to offer. The options are become a Disney kid and churn out a commercial product that only suits young children or tough it out until you build a sound that can be mass marketed. Either way the business is full of huge risks and dangers. People don't realize what someone will be getting into if they're going to be in this business, ESPECIALLY a kid. It's very cut throat and dangerous.

  • This post truly exhibits the "humility" you claim to hold so dear in your response below.

By the way, spelling Deth wihout the a and Jon without the h......very very innovative. If your guitar playing is half as innovative you might just be the next Chirs Impelliteri.....wait....he wasn't very original was he. :) I'm sure you are a fine player.

  • Encouragement is great but what I see here is the voices of irresponsible idiots building up a kid's ego so that he ends up falling flat on his face when he expects the REAL world to respond the same way to his performances.

...unless his parents are someone famous or know someone famous that will cash in on him. Then he'll have a path laid in gold for him no matter how good he is or isn't.

  • magical..

  • You are amazing - I can tell you are really, really into the blues . Someday you will be as famous as Hendrix, Stevie Ray , Buddy Guy and other greats !

  • dude you blow my mind

  • Your great on the guitar, but the singing needs a little practice :)

  • i love the fact that this kid plays a full size guitar it shows determination and true talent to handle it

  • once this kid gets alittle more strenght in his hands he's gonna be unbelievable....in the 2nd grade only...unreal

  • i agree with trendkill333

  • Awesome, you are a true prodigy.

  • huahauhauahuahuahauhau

realy funy man, i´m your fan right now, I dont use half of your energy when i´m playing this

    cogratulations

  • Jesus! That is a pretty fair rendering of this tune and he's only eight?! Nice!

  • way to go t-man... srv would be proud!
