When you're talking about the "birthday" of a country, are you saying that its birthday is the same as when it forms its own government? or when it was first populated by organized groups of settlers who formed their own local governments? Because if so, then the birth of "America" is a lot earlier than 1773-8.
I stand by the traditional July 4th, 1776 of course. The holiday was not originally "selected" but rather "accepted" for one simple fact: that was the date on the Declaration of Independence, which was printed & well known. People just started celebrating on that day, actually DURING the Revolutionary War. It did not become a Federal holiday until the 19th century.
It is such a part of American culture that the "date" has taken place of the name "Independence Day"! You have zero chance of changing it so I wonder what the point of this really is?
Well, although I don't necessarily agree with your approach & perspective on American history it's tough to say anything bad about this video. Looks like the whole family got involved with this project and had a lot of fun doing it. I have not seen kids this age get so excited about the American Revolution in a long time, so I guess this can't be all bad. You have a great looking family BTW, you must have either German or Polish roots with the name "Klos"?
Had a lot of fun doing this! It turned out great dad! <3 ya
