I'm a pharmacist for an "unnamed" large pharmacy chain, and all I have to say is this guy is my hero! Of course I have been "trained" to 'assume a non-threatening posture, don't look them in the eyes, and give them anything they demand.' But this guy took matters into his own hands and I think it's awesome!

I think he actually "de-escalated" the situation! As it was the bad guys were going to kill everyone in the store. By firing his weapon they left in a big hurry thus dropping the threat of further violence to ZERO! Good for him!! Now go get some remedial pistol training so that you hit what you shoot at!

I wish there was a pharmacy that required, by policy, all of it's permanent employees to possess weapons and defensive firearms training. I would go there for all my prescriptions and even buy their overpriced convenience store items.

Their policies violate Michigan law so they are null and void. I hope this guy gets one hell of a payday.

And legalities aside, what if the store worker was a police officer instead? The cops would have shot the robbers and no one would have blinked an eye over it. But because this guy is a 'civilian,' his right to defend himself is in question.

'Authorities' are not royalty. If they have the right to shoot/kill in self defense then so do civilians.

Walgreens either made a mistake in their policy or a mistake in firing the pharmicist. Criminals need to know they are outnumbered by responsible armed citizens. However, any company has the right to make any policy they choose, and we have the right to work or shop anywhere we choose. I always liked Walgreens, but I'm happy to go elsewhere.

@korwynpeck They can't make policies that violate the law. Walgreen's policy violates Michigan HB-5143 so it doesn't have to be obeyed.

Unfortunately, he could have hit an innocent bystander with his weapon. It is obvious from the video that he is not a good shot nor trained in use of a handgun. There is a reason for these policies. Walgreens or any other company can be sued if an employee hurts someone; even if they were robbing the store!

@rogerxcohn Police hit innocent bystanders all the time. Imperfection is a part of life. That doesn't mean we don't have a right to defend ourselves.

Walgreens extensive training states all employees to turn around and kneel down so the nigger has an easier time putting the bullet into your cerebal cortex.
