When I played it, I was about 9. While playing I had chills! After playing, I was extremely excited. When I played 3rd DMC, I wasn't that scared, but it's the same atmosphere. No such crazy awesome shit in DMC4, or DmC... -_-

As for DMC3, loved the energy in it, the bosses were its strong points but its regular enemies and puzzle solving was bland, with a lot of recycled reaper designs, which were frequent.
@nero555ful No, the 'electric' sword in DMC 1 is named Alastor, the one with the skull is named Rebellion and makes it's first appearance in DMC 2 (withouth the skull though).
God I loved this game, on the playstation 1!! The best part was that once you started moving backwards through previous levels, it got actually scary and creepy and intense. I was only 10 so the mood change scared the shit out of me. Which of course made the game a thrill. The only 5/5 DMC game to date.

I can see why; Devil May Cry was originally intended to be Resident Evil 4 until they realized that the whole universe and plot was just too different.
I wouldn't put it passed Capcom to have tried to maintain that survival horror aspect. But Dante is just too...actiony in a way the Resident Evil cast isn't; so I guess they felt that it fit better into the hack and slash genre.
@M4TTBURKE Damn, same here man. My stepdad gave me Resident Evil: Code Veronica when I was 7 (I had been playing videogames since I was 3) and it came with a demo of Devil May Cry. After I played it he got it for me cause I asked him to... It was my favorite game ever! I played through it more times than I can remember. And I loved that change to the dark and scary feeling too, I cant explain it. Just listening to the song they played during the scary parts makes me miss it. I loved those games.

@FlameGyu I kinda like it, it has a nice effect and demons bled in the previous DMC's enough in my opinion (and there is an enemy type who bleeds quite a lot later in the game ;)

This is the best DMC DMC2 hooked with the gameplay only fell short with everything else including the characters and story DMC3 was so dissapointing. People expect so much from that first cutscene and the game fails to liver anything like it until the end cutscene which was cool too. DMC4 was just okay it fiddled around too much with the inclusion of nero and was disappointing too DMC was well balanced and fun ^^
Woah, easy there, DMC 3 is without any doubt the best part of the series (okay, it shares the throne with DMC 1). I would say DMC 2 was one of the biggest dissapointments in the history of video games. DMC 3 had that DMC 1 vibe again.
DMC 4 is fun, the Devil Bringer is a fresh new feature.

This is the best DMC DMC2 hooked with the gameplay only fell short with everything else including the characters and story DMC3 was so dissapointing. People expect so much from that first cutscene and the game fails to liver anything like it until the end cutscene which was cool too. DMC4 was just okay it fiddled around too much with the inclusion of nero and was disappointing too DMC was well balanced and fun ^^

Woah, easy there, DMC 3 is without any doubt the best part of the series (okay, it shares the throne with DMC 1). I would say DMC 2 was one of the biggest dissapointments in the history of video games. DMC 3 had that DMC 1 vibe again.
DMC 4 is fun, the Devil Bringer is a fresh new feature.

Yeah nothing happened in 4 though. And 3 has good gameplay only the difficulty was horrible making you feel weak and its all filler and lame cutscenes with no point except the first and last....

Hmm, actually i've noticed, that most games with a second part usually sucks. I can't reall remember, for what games thouse were actually, but one of them, for sure was ratchet and clank 2. hmm, jak2 sucked because of the giant...and the pop 1 suced...

Woah 2 months huh...
4 is pretty good. Devil Bringer is a fresh feature and Nero, if lacking compared to Dante, is fun to play as like Dante, however 4 happens in a weird setting, and things are left undeveloped as heck but its still fun to play.
Lol And yeah as Yahtzee said, Nero is a bit of a pussy whearas Dante is more of a cunt

it has not been predicted - and think back to the ending of dmc2 "yeah lets go all the way hell" .. and drove on his motorcycle (which popped out of nowhere btw lol) right into "hell" ..

Not a single Sparda bit. The man is arguably more important than Phantom and Griffin combined to DMC1 alone and he gets not 1 second. A real shame.
Still, that aside, great trailer showcasing Dante's abilities and Nelo's presence.

Best Series ever although No. 2 sucked thats why they put it at the back of the series (Story line goes DMC3, DMC1, Animated series, DMC4, DMC2) Leon I think your wrong No.3 was amazing no faults not confusing at all its what fixed up the big screw up on No.2
