  • The drums help build the tension. They're great.

  • beginning was alright and thennnnnnnnnnnnnnn......

  • no drums !

  • this sucks

  • J.S. was lucky to miss this one...

  • wow haha this helps with how to voice this piece thanks for uploading it :)

  • i sang along with the bass

  • U-Niq - Wildin' Out

Army Of The Pharaohs - Narrow Grave

  • Sounds almost like something that Richard Carpenter might arrange.

  • the right hand on keyboard is really 2 voices after the Grave .. why did they do it this way ? the final part works nicely here because they give the parts to more voices!

  • Yo.. THEY LOVE THE WAY I PIN A CHAMP!

  • Uniq - Wildin' Out

  • Army Of The Pharaohs - Narrow Grave

  • @megaplayah

    oh yes yes

  • my favorite swingle singer rendition... thanks for putting it up

  • the drums really do ruin this for me...

  • Not bad, but i prefer glenn gould performance on piano lol

  • barrypianon! It is vocalize. It is very difficult and glorious!

    Regards from Poland.

  • Que falta faz o grupo Les Swingle Singers.

  • Sempre strepitosi i swingle singer

  • omg. this is so cool! I was looking for this piece on piano (there are too many harpsichordists) but then I saw this! I like ^^

  • Adore this! Much better than some of the pianists on here ramming the pedal into it like lazy sods who are not prepared to do it justice!

    Well done !

Slightly barmy all the same but superb!

  • bass is excelent!!!

  • SICK!!

  • Oh and the beautiful harmonies are much easier to hear using this medium rather than a piano or harpsichord - in my opinion.

  • This is incredible and touching. (especially the first part, but i love the fugue too in a different way).

Who cares if it's not the way Bach intended it? The goal in an interpretation of a piece is not to follow the exact guidelines of the composer, but to interpret in a way that reaches the audience and brings life and feeling to the music, which was accomplished here.

  • I like this better than any jazzy rendition of a Bach piece I've heard.

  • Wow.. that's amazing >.> I can't believe one can sing like that.

  • WHAT!!!!!? this is so cool

  • Comment removed

  • I LOVED it. My only problem is that in the Fuga section, the drums were too loud, i could not hear the singers that well.

  • They are singing in F# minor.

  • yeah they are

  • Wow this is a really interesting version of Bach, I'm sure he never imagined it would ever sound like this :) but I like it, it's unusual to sing a cadenza and stuff like that but it sounds really good. The layers of notes come across really well with the different male and female voices I reckon :)

  • I am shocked at how critical some of the posted comments are. I can only assume that you do not realize how difficult singing music originally intended for instruments can be. The Swingle Singers are terrific!

  • Sorry, but you suck.

  • its so amazing i LOVE the solo. Loved this since i was a wee nipper listening to my dads old gramophone :)

  • yeah i have that too

  • Jup, I saw your comment on the AOTP vid hehe.

  • "Narrow Grave" by Army of the Pharaohs

Produced by the White Shadow (of Norway)

  • Doesn't sound flat to me, those are Bach's harmonies. And I'd like to hear how they sound without the drum, but that's been a Swingle Singers' trademark for a long long time.

  • the singing is quiet inconsistent. Flat on 1:54 , 2:18 and the worse is on 2:33.

  • No, they're not flat. I play this piece, that's how it's written.

  • that's the way Bach made it, you are new to Bach

  • She isn't flat--that is the way Bach wrote it!

  • Very funny

  • i'm learning this piece on piano and it is very difficult

i can't even imagine how difficult is "singing" that

  • I would love this without the drums...

  • I think so....

  • definitely..

  • There are no real drums.

  • BACH FOREVER!!!

  • One of my favorite themes of all times!!! I have learned from you how to sing it when I was 14 and that was a long time ago! :)

  • nothing!

  • so delete the tag, m4n

  • @musicantae Then remove the Tags of "Glenn Gould"

  • @EricTheRed03 !?!?!

  • He sings while playing :)

  • I have several albums of the swingles: Bach's greatest hits, anyone for Mozart, and Rococo a gogo and I am converting them to CDs. They sound great, don't they?

  • Thi is really VARY interesting !!!thanks for sharing!!

  • excellennnnnnnnnnnnnttttt

  • UNA BELLA SINFONIA, SALUTI DA NAPOLI!

  • just perfect

  • what's the bwv on this one? It can't be BWV 1004.

  • BWV 826

  • Awesome, Thanks for sharing.

  • great...

  • HOT!

  • This really has style. Sounds great. :)

  • Damn, I would so marry the main singer, pure sexy.

  • To me, the drumwork makes this LP. I grew up with this, their first record, and it got played a lot.

  • I rather like this, as a classical pianist too. Showing value to classical music to those who may not be so inclined. I really appreciate it!

  • I can almost imagine Bach on Shades and Ray Charles is the page turner LOL

  • I'm a classical pianist and study nothing but j.s bach. this is a discrace to bach. And i spit in your genarall direction!

No just kiding it's cool i like the arrangement. I never herd it like this

  • really funny

  • vedo che sei italiano/a cmq.. complimenti per gli altri video, se vuoi dai un'occhiata ai miei =)

  • real funny =) and true to bach's sheet.

just i'd like it without drums in last "allegro"

  • You are rigth. In the first record of The Swingle Singers, the drums are too loud, in fact themselves in the next records, keep the drums lower, and it is much better. Thanks for comment

  • @fravaglio I think this is from the Ekseption version, don't remember if it's on "5" or "00.04" album of theirs...
