the right hand on keyboard is really 2 voices after the Grave .. why did they do it this way ? the final part works nicely here because they give the parts to more voices!
This is incredible and touching. (especially the first part, but i love the fugue too in a different way).
Who cares if it's not the way Bach intended it? The goal in an interpretation of a piece is not to follow the exact guidelines of the composer, but to interpret in a way that reaches the audience and brings life and feeling to the music, which was accomplished here.
Wow this is a really interesting version of Bach, I'm sure he never imagined it would ever sound like this :) but I like it, it's unusual to sing a cadenza and stuff like that but it sounds really good. The layers of notes come across really well with the different male and female voices I reckon :)
I am shocked at how critical some of the posted comments are. I can only assume that you do not realize how difficult singing music originally intended for instruments can be. The Swingle Singers are terrific!
Doesn't sound flat to me, those are Bach's harmonies. And I'd like to hear how they sound without the drum, but that's been a Swingle Singers' trademark for a long long time.
I have several albums of the swingles: Bach's greatest hits, anyone for Mozart, and Rococo a gogo and I am converting them to CDs. They sound great, don't they?
You are rigth. In the first record of The Swingle Singers, the drums are too loud, in fact themselves in the next records, keep the drums lower, and it is much better. Thanks for comment
The drums help build the tension. They're great.

omg. this is so cool! I was looking for this piece on piano (there are too many harpsichordists) but then I saw this! I like ^^

Adore this! Much better than some of the pianists on here ramming the pedal into it like lazy sods who are not prepared to do it justice!
Well done !
Slightly barmy all the same but superb!

Oh and the beautiful harmonies are much easier to hear using this medium rather than a piano or harpsichord - in my opinion.

the singing is quiet inconsistent. Flat on 1:54 , 2:18 and the worse is on 2:33.

No, they're not flat. I play this piece, that's how it's written.
