Depending on what country you live in -- El Dorado is two, 2 hr movies. The first movie is called El Dorado - Temple of the Sun. The second movie is El Dorado -- City of Gold. Like the Lord of the Rings movies, the two El Dorado movies continue with the same characters/villains going after the same goal. You'll be missing out if you don't see both movies.

For some reason, some countries only carry the second movie, which won't make much sense if you haven't seen the first one.

Yes, it was Made-for-TV movie but it was brilliant for its level. Shane West showed more mature acting, finally. Natalie Martinez and Elden Henson looked no less impressive and Luke Goss was decent villain. This Adventure movie was better than so-called "blockbusters" Sahara, National Treasure 2 and Fool's Gold.

El Dorado is one of my favorite TV Adventure films (along with The Librarian trilogy and The Curse of King Tut's Tomb)
