  • If you have a bent shaft the only thing you could possibly do is remove the engine and beat on it with a hammer!! It will not straighten it perfectly but it could get better depending on the shafts length!!! It could damage the oil seal too!!!

  • Agree with Terry. Even if you get it straight enough that the mower runs, it won't be perfectly straight, and the blade will work itself loose and possibly come flying off during operation. Speaking of safety issues, don't try what this kid is saying before disengaging the spark plug, first.

  • just use a pressure washer but be carefull not to get the filter wet or it wont start

  • wtf is his name alice? sound like a typical alice.

  • never spray water on the deck of any mower it will cause rust

  • No... But leaving it covered in grass clippings and shit will.

  • Hi! Could you please tell me how to straighten a bent shaft on a Sears/Craftsman lawnmower? The blade of my lawnmower hit a rock on the ground and stopped turning completely. I think the shaft is seriously bent. Someone told me that there was a way to straighten the bent shaft without taking apart the engine. Thanks!

  • ya!!!!!!!! ditto that!

  • yes i know how take out the blade there should be a bolt in the middle of the blade after u take it out lay the blade flat on the groubd and hammer it down till it is all str8

  • you cant straighten a crank shaft once the crank is bent the engine is scrap if you want to replace it you would be cheaper getting a spares or repair engine from ebay(just make sure the crank is ok on it) and replace it with that
