  • That Tux is hilarious...and very appropriate for the occasion.

  • @mgwu36 I wonder what other beers deserve a tux?

  • This beer is not for the weak...take care....Cheers!

  • @davidrcoulter One of my cousins popped one of these open without realizing what it was. It caught him a little off guard.

  • THE FUNNY THING ABOUT THIS BEER IS THAT I HAD BOUGHT HALF A CASE ONE TIME FOR !#@ AND THEN ME AND MY FREIND DRANKEM IN 2 hoursyup.what a waste.i should have known he was an alchly

  • @markyperalez Drinking two of these in two hours is more than you would see me drink.

  • I think every beer nerd needs to experience this beer on principle, but I actually much prefer the 90 minute, especially given the price.

  • @RiffinNBrews I agree. Everyone should try it, but this is not going to be your "go-to" beer.

  • I am debating when to open this. Now or a year later? Not sure what to do. This was the last bottle I found at the store and the most expensive bottle of beer I have ever bought. $10!! I do not want to waste this.

  • @Crisgo3d It's a tough call. I hear it is great fresh. I had a six month old bottle that I didn't like as much. The character changes dramatically. I have two more bottles. I am going to wait and drink one next year and the year after that.

  • Going with a 10.0 on this beauty! i drank the whole bottle and i highly recommend doing so....just take your time and dont drive anywhere!

  • @bcummings68 I have a two bottles aging in my basement right now. Looking forward to trying it after a year or two.

  • Excuse me. Did you say 100.20 minute IPA? It looked like there are less digits on the bottle. lol. I'm just efing with you James. Great beer. I've only not liked one of their beers... but I hated it. Raspberry Chocolate stout or something. yuck.

  • @GrooveTooth They have a few others I could do without. I'm not a huge fan of "Midas Touch". I love their Indian Brown Ale though.

  • dogfish is the best beer for those who like IPAs period. Sierra Nevada is a good brewery as well

  • @classivtvfan01 My favorite DFH beer is probably their Indian Brown Ale.

  • 60 minute IPA is my go to 6 pack. It is absolutely delicious! I have tried the 90 but not the120. I think I am going to go out and get a bottle. It was 10 bucks here in FL at the store I saw. I am going to try Total Wine first and hope it is cheaper.

  • @p00j2620 60, 90 and 120 are so different. Liking one will not guarantee liking the others.

  • Scott is hotttt

  • @psusarahkate He does sweat a lot.

  • Enjoyed the review Agile. I wish I could get my hands on this one. A lot people I know don't like Dogfish Head IPA's b/c it's too sweet/syrupy for them.

  • @arsenal6106 I was worried that this was just going to be an over-hyped mess of a beer, but I really truly enjoyed it. It's sweet and syrupy, but to me it worked.

  • 120 is great, but mark is nuts to say that it's a "hoppy" beer....sure it may have alot of hops in it, but it's far more sweet than anything...

  • @xxfutureisnowxx It's hoppy in the sense that it has a lot of hops in it, but the balance leans toward the malty side and it definitely does not come across as a bitter beer. ...there are plenty of other reasons why Mark is nuts. :)

  • @AgileHProductions

haha fair enough...and good job on the reviews guys

  • I was down at the Milton Brewery the day they sold this latest batch and scored 3 4 packs. I have since tried 2 of those 12. I totally agree with this review, I was surprised by the sweetness but it didn't turn me off. I let it warm up and it got very caramely with a little more hop shining through. The 10 I have left will sit in the cellar for a while, maybe pull one out here and there but I hope to age some for a couple years(5 if I can really wait that long) and see what happens.

  • @BigJilm84 Hope you check back in here next year when you open another bottle. Let us know how it changes over time.

  • It's for the best that Joby wasn't there for the review. I can imagine what he'd say: "James, what you said in the opening is exactly how I'd describe it. It has a hoppy but sweet finish and it wasn't as strong as I had anticipated. But it's really not a beer I'd remember. I give it a 5."

  • @spewintothis For the record, Joby was there with us and thought the beer was really good. I think he said he would give it an 8 or 9. Just in case you're curious about his reaction.

  • Unfortunately Dogfishhead stopped distributing to my area so I can't get ANY of their beers without some legwork. Having said that I think this is probably not an Imperial IPA simply because it doesn't fall into style parameters. It's just too strong.Having said that it would be hard to classify since it's way too hoppy for a barley wine and is one of the strongest purely fermented beers out there.

  • Great review. I was definitely surprised by the lack of hop character from 120 Minute, but it was a great beer. You guys lucked out on the 4-pack!

  • @ERRATICTV Luck? It was a lot of strategic planning. We had it shipped here from our East Coast representation. :)

  • I'm sitting on one right now thanks to Greg from gregsbeerreviews. I could not get one here in Wash. state. I think this beer is prob. in a style all it's own. I may drink mine this weekend with my wife. watch for the vid.

  • @dorf68 You should post your video as a response to this one, so our viewers (and myself) can check it out. Looking forward to it. It's a pretty cool beer. It exceeded my expectations.

  • You guys covered this beer pretty well. You said about the same thing I'd say and gave it decent respect. cheers.

  • @donosborn I'm shocked. I think this is the first time you haven't had any constructive criticism. Glad you enjoyed the episode. This is one of my favorite episodes overall. I had a good time tasting this beer and I think it led to a good discussion.

On another note: I'm thinking about building a 20 Gallon All-Grain Homebrew setup. Any advice on where I should start looking for ideas?

  • I LOL'ed through out the whole video. Poor chef getting corrected twice and looking like Bender from Futurama. Good job guys!

  • Sure I need to try it but I've heard this is a syrupy mess of an IPA. San Diego pale ales with tear the enamel off your teeth with bitterness and are the true hoppiest beers on the planet, not this one.

  • @StumpyJoeJr Perhaps in terms of bitterness, yes, but in the sheer amount of hops put into this beer, it can't be touched by the San Diego bitters. San Diegians love their bitter beers, almost like a pissing match as to who can make the most undrinkable beer in the market.

  • @StumpyJoeJr Its probably closer to a Barleywine than an IPA. I don't really think there is anything about this beer that really makes it an IPA other than the name.

  • I'm still trying to figure out what Chef was wearing. lol

I'll pass on the 120. I"ll stick with real beer.

  • James you should of had a beautiful waitress pouring your beers that would have been a great video impression

  • @billybobdick100 I was thinking a butler, but a beautiful waitress would work too!

  • Really good episode, glad you could score some in Ohio. I prefer teh 60 for every day drinking, the 90 for just one at a time, and the 120 for special occasions. Why do I have to choose one. I had one of the recent test batched on tap at the brew pub, amazing. I give it a 10 on draft, 9 out of the bottle.

  • @dhartogs Have you had the 75 Minute IPA?

  • @AgileHProductions Yes, it's hard to judge as it's on cask so it has a different feel altogether since it's served warmer and less carbonated. That being said, it's much closer to the 60 than to the 90. I had a tasting try of teh 60, 75, 90, 120, and one other beer. Did the verticle. Then had the two Burtons.

  • I definitely prefer the 90 over all three, but I'll get a golden twinkle in my eye whenever I see the 120 in stores.

  • @lastdayinsin3 I think that 120 is now my favorite of the 3, but definitely a special occasion type of treat.

  • what the hell are you guys wearing?

wow $7.50 a bottle, that's cheap. Its like $12 here in NY (damn taxes)

I think Brewdog's "Sink the Bismarck" would be the strongest IPA in the world (if you consider it beer)

To me this is more like a brandy or sherry

  • @ChadzBeerReviews I thought this was more beer-like than I was expecting it to be. That alcohol definitely hits you in the tail for a while after you drink it.

  • @AgileHProductions I really need to re-visit this beer. It was one of the first episodes I ever shot. I poured the entire thing into a tumbler and drank it in like 20 minutes. I remember not being very drunk afterwards, strangely enough even though the bottle I was drinking was the 21% ABV version, lol

  • @ChadzBeerReviews That's awesome. I'll have to go back and watch that sometime. Did you like it?

  • Having had all three, I prefer the 60.

  • Mr,James knott. today you like a James Bond. would you like a beer and dry martini?

  • @swordfish824 I think it's official... now I have worn every piece of clothing in my closet on the show.

  • Chef looks like he just got back from a trip to mars........

  • @justtryharder I thought he looked like an android.

  • I have never tried this but I would rather call it an american strong ale instead also it's hoppy is a wrong term how he is using it. Hoppy is the smell bitter is the taste.

  • Why would you consider it a strong American ale rather than an IPA? Can you reply in a message?

  • @lastdayinsin3 Definitely not an IPA in the historical sense of the word. You can't imagine the English sending this to their troops in India. There troops wouldn't do a good job of defending the crown after drinking this.
