Islands is my favorite King Crimson album. King Crimson themselves, and any true KC enthusiast will understand what I mean about "this being their best album". Maybe it's because I like the Odyssey.

Next in line would be Poseidon. For the longest time, I, too, disliked this album, so I can understand why you would say that. This album passes through so many moods, I think that's why it makes for the best selection of King Crimson's talents.

Listen to the first one "(In the court of...") and all of the albums they did with bill brufford )("larks toungue in aspic", "red" and all of the 80´s stuff ("Discipline", "Beat" and "3 of a perfect pair", that should be a good start!
