Check out Origami Bicycle Company for some interesting folding bikes. Their Crane model is only 24 lbs. and folds up nice and compact, and only costs $289.00.
I dint know that. That aside, it'd be great if we bicyclists, world over, are cajoled(not coerced) about wearing helmets as norm or discipline or choice than by law. Bicycling advertisements, Photo-ads, etc are one of the many ways of suggestively getting the message into our head. Wearing it will & should be by choice.
Nice bikes, but I think it's time manufacturers get out of the "mountain bike/ no fenders" thing.
I live and ride in New York City can attest to the attention classicaly beautiful but modern urban bikes get with sweeping chain guards and fenders with (or without) some chrome.
Mother and son need to rethink the stripped down bike thing if they want to capture a market share that is silent but very much here.
@Joecom12 It's a good point about commuter bikes not being featured too much. Though they don't feature them here Tern offers some great bikes with racks and fenders like the Link D8, Link P7i, and Verge S11i. Theses bikes would all make excellent commuters! - Peter
@jeffk412 If anything all the good from Dahon is with the Tern brand now. Dahon Global and Tern are the same company. The term knock off doesn't apply here.
How can anyone seriously consider going any further than on an inner city run with a Brompton? 16" wheels are no better than a Victorian bone shaker.. Give me a 20" Dahon anyday and have change in pocket for a w/e in Paris..
@rkokish the bike someone likes, rides, and can afford is the best bike for them. bike fridays are not exactly stylish bikes imo. some of them, that tikit, are fug or they look the same not considering the paint job and handlebars. and they are ridiculously expensive. i won't be getting a tern however. i think the bikes are expensive, some are too big, and they simply aren't what i'm looking for right now. already have a dahon btw.
Nice to see all of the riders wearing hel.... Oh no wait none of them were wearing helmets.
Please tell me these are going to be better made than Dahon, because if they are finally we might be able to get a viable alternative to hideous Bromptons!
@666davidfrench there are so many bikes in the dahon line-up that to suggest that a brompton beats them all is sorta crazy, if not a sweeping generalization. i'm sure you haven't been on every dahon. also, bromptons are not hideous.

Why don't any of these people wear biking helmets?
veeraa 3 months ago
@veeraa In many countries helmet is not required by law (such as Italy).

knock off of Dahon... look into the history of the battle between Dahon and Tern, not just the rulings. not pretty.

Good to see a bike promo without helmet propoganda. Nice bikes, shame you can't buy in UK yet.

Are not Bike Fridays a viable (though admittedly expensive) alternative to hideous Bromptons?
