  • What type of Clematis would be more suitable to go over a large pergola please? Any information will be greatly appreciated.

  • Can you grow other Clematis plants from pots?? i have railings around my garden and im hoping to grow some clematis from pots to climb them. I have bought some and im unsure as when to twist them round the railings, as they are still only small as yet?? Please help x

  • @beaniebumble ,hello friend, yes you can grow all the clematis varieties in pots, remember, the larger the pot you use the bigger the plant gets, the only problem, is when the plant gets big (and trust me they can reach up to 4/5meter high if planted against a wall) you have to keep the compost moist, (do not forget to water them) ,2nd you do not need to twist them at all, they attach them selves to raillings / other plants....etc if you like to cover say a wall with them then choose

  • @beaniebumble choose an evergreen variety such as carnaby clematis , Niobe clematis or Ernest Markham clematis, the leaves stays green all year round, and they make a lovely feature by covering ugly concrete walls or fences , around march ,you can take lot of cutting from them to re-plant in other areas, hope this info would help,

  • clematis is a greek word. simply for climbing plant :)

  • @djvdwolf ahhhh stop ,you making me jalouse, any chance of some seeds, or hardwood cuttings, lol ,

  • @aityadeen123 its even worse i am at 76 now ^_^

  • @djvdwolf NOT at all my friend, you just matured ,that's all, keep on gardening but don't over do it, how long had you this 37types of clematis? , which is your favorite and why?

  • @aityadeen123 i mean i have 76 different ones :P (its not my age -.- i am 21)

but star of india is my fav. because it was my first clematis (A)

  • @djvdwolf ahhahhaha, i really though you were 76y.old .lol. i had lot of sympathy for you ,lol, (hard work in the garden....)

yes star of india is one of my favorite too, i like it because it's a vigorous climber , and the violet mauve color of flowers, love it, we had a very bad winter this year here in ireland, i lost many plants and trees, so i'm starting from scratch, but since i lost my job 6months ago, it has been very difficult to replace what i had from garden centers,

  • @djvdwolf i tried to swap other plants and veg seeds for clematis seeds or cuttings but no luck, i tried the worldplantexchange web site ,davesgarden website but no luck so far , i thing more people should join these websites they are useful communities that shares tips and ideas for gardens, along with seeds and plants, example, i bough a bag of peas seeds 4weeks ago, i got 200seeds, what the heck am i going to do with 200seeds ,i only used 16 seeds, so the rest would for swapping

  • awesome video ! I like the flowers so much . Thank you for sharing , 5* .

    nutier

  • The blue clematis would most likely to be a "Will Goodwin" My wife got one 6 years ago for around $70.00 all the pruning leftovers she made cuttings and now we have over 20 plants!

  • At around 51sec there is a beautiful blue clematis shown. What kind is that? I'm also curious to the blue one shown at 1m 28s.

Really lovely clematis you have growing. I just bought my 2nd one yesterday and I'd love to get some more. =)

  • Sorry for the late reply, but I was trying to find an answer for you. The blue clematis was blooming in a neighbors yard, and when I asked about it, she had no idea was kind it is. Sorry.

  • I appreciate your effort. I'll keep looking around. I'm sure I'll find it someday in a greenhouse. =)

  • @pagan22 i think its C. justa :P (got justa my self )
