Doyle, in his lifetime, has played more coin flips [AK vs small-medium pocket pair] than anyone on this table. He doesn't even flinch! I would have jumped in the air and do a victory dance.

@JanHer0 Wouldn't that leave Texas Dolly with KKTTT and Garbacz with JJTTT for a lower Full House? Basics of poker mate, if you're already making mistakes like this while watching a video, you should really pay attention on your home game, since this will just cost you.
JJ is an insta fold in that spot. Limp-shove by Doyle. AK is the best that guy could hope for in that spot. Would Doyle do that with AQ,AJ-NO WAY. Or 10,10 or less? NOPE. Doyle says "Ship it" Beotch.
@PatriotTK421 Saying that you always "insta" fold in that spot means that you arent gathering information at all from the table...how do you know that doyle would never pull those moves off? I guess you can read his mind
Different strokes for different folks I guess. I can't rule out AA, KK, or QQ in that spot. Gather all the information you'd like at that moment & good luck! The truth is an over card to JJ hits the flop 50% of the time & you're CALLING all of your chips, your tournament life when you have plenty of chips to pick a better spot and you really don't have a lot of information. I'd look for a better spot to gamble all my chips, but really, who cares what I think, I'm just some guy on youtube.
lol what? i'm just telling you what i see. duhhhhhh! you must be one of those people who gets pissed at the 0.01/0.02 FLH tables when he loses his dollar.
wtf u on about i must be a bad poker player because i can't see Doyle smiling when he clearly isn't.duhhhhhhh!!!OK then sir if you do play online if its pokerstars whats your name??If your REAL then name your stakes.
it means if u ply on stars which is the only site i play on i would play you heads up if u wanted mid stakes but as i imagined you just happen to play on full tilt.
It was a standard hand, Doyle called there just so somebody else would raise and the pot would get big anough for him to go all in, most of the time you wants to go all in with Ak before the flop ( maybe not 8-10 handed ) however the other Guy was porbably kinda sure that doyle did not have QQ, KK, or AA since he overbet the pot about 9 times, and since he is ahead with JJ and more then 10% comited to the pot, it was a good call and a standard call.
Doyle didn't want a call from a pocket pair, he wanted a call from A-Q and lower. Mathematically Garbacz made the correct call, but if it's about survival, he made a bad call. There was absolutely nothing that he could dominate unless it was AJ, and Doyle doesn't push with those kinds of hands. He'll either win 22k, which is nothing, or lose the entire tournament. It's one of the reasons a lot of cash game players usually don't do as well in tournies. He should have folded in this situation.
You have to take in consideration too, the odds of him folding, if he did get called Brunson would be a slight dog. THat's the key to Doyle, he could have taken the pot right there, and he's representing the image of not being afraid to take coinflips. All around good performance by Doyle, and questionable call by Garbacz for putting his tournament life on the line with JJ.
dave told me he just wanted to beat a pro on TV, especially eliminating him from the WSOP main event! he came back to england with a story tho, doyle brunson sucked out on him!! lolol
With so many BB left he should have thought about it twice and should have folded, there's better spots to put in all your chips than against Doyle's all - in raise.
Jennifer Harman started singing really loud not long after this hand. She had paid Phil Hellmuth $10 to disconnect all the cameras on the quiet, so that's why it never made television. What a noise she made.
LOL. Ok, now I believe you. I've seen people who say shit like "I can own Daniel Negreanu" etc but Garbarcz is reasonable and also, from the way you're responding, I'll take your word for it. Sorry for being sarcastic and contradicting your words. Just letting you know, there are idiots on youtube who say, I owned Phil Ivey, Scotty Nguyen, etc. My apologies.
I dont class a 57-43 as 'having the odds'. Yeah, hes ahead but not by much. You dont exactly wanna risk your tournement life on this so early on. If he was calling an all in who he had covered then it would of been worth the shot.
No retard. The pot was $12000 when he had to make the call so he was getting little over 1:1 on his money. So he can only blame himself for losing his stack here, because he had little in the pot and didnt have to commit himself on that hand.
no. at BEST would be an underpair. people like to use AT BEST in the wrong situations. but knowing how doyle plays it was a semi bad call even tho he was the favorite when he put his money in thats the best you can do.
But as Doyle said ur more than likely gonna have to play atleast one coinflip in a tourney. So he called and that is that. Weather it was a good call or not is irrelevant They were like 50/50
Neither one lasted very long playing like this.

You're thinking "in the box", Doyle had been bullying this table a whole lot before this hand and he was capable of going bananas here.
Plus he won't shove AA there (and in my opinion KK either), wich is a huge overplay.
WaspSnG 1 year ago
@WaspSnG Bananas my ass! Doyle is a tight, solid player, he's never bluffing here.

it was a standard call. I wouldnt done it myself cause it was so early on in a tournament and the best shape you can be is a coin flip.

If you get short stacked, or dont play agressive you will have to make at least 2-3 coin flips later in the tournament. Its just poker.
