1. Those rims are actually kind of tasteful and do not suck. Which is cool.
2. I'm not so sure about a dyno test... the gimmick to this car is that you're packing a hell of a lot of engine into a small amount of car, not so much the power output of the engine itself... otoh, the dyno test could tell you a lot about how well your (extensive) engine/drivetrain build went. Hm. Nevermind.
I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Bimmer Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Mercedes vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and EFi injectors clean as new!
It didn't sound like you guys were pushing the engine at all and with only 165 on the chart kinda seems like it to. Were you just trying to find the top end of fifth gear?
As much as I love the E30's and the S14 Motor itself, I personally look down on doing the S14 swap. I have a '71 2002 that I'm setting up for SCCA racing and what not, and I'm sticking with the M10. But let me tell you, I'm putting that M10 on steroids like theres no tomorrow. And the cost of doing it equals that of purchasing an S14 and installing it and all the other goodies it comes with. :)
I hear ya. I was not going to do the swap but it was the best option for me at the time...Good luck with the M10 Build up! It will be a screamer and hustler...Let me know if you doing any track events in the southeast or north east...I will come check you out....
super cool!!!! man where did you get your parts... i cant seem to find any good cheap dealers in canada or usa... i can only find dealers out of the uk...
Terry Sayther Automotive in Austin TX, A E30 Got rear ended and I bought it from him. Sayther than did the instal. I would recomend him as it there is a lot to this instal...check his site out and you will see the step by step process of the install....

I have an Alpina A3 she puts out 160 at the wheels does 60 in 5secs sure surprises the modern cars on a 5 speed close ratio box one of three.

@Coopster2002 A close ratio five speed is something to die for......what final drive are you running? What's it top out at?

You have to distinguish rwhp from hp, since you always have a certain loss of power over the powertrain.

Thought S14 was suppose to put out 190HP???

weedawg02 2 years ago

nirvanafan2737 2 years ago
