I saw 'The River' on TCM last night and immediately thought that Radha Burnier's masterful and magnificent dance really needed to be posted on YouTube. How happy I was to find that you had already posted it! Her dance, the story it portrays, along with the excellent music -- wonderfully enhanced with Konnakol, no less -- is far too impressive and beautiful to be missed! I have already added it to my favorites and set it as the feature video. Thank you for posting this, MutantEggPlant!
@novostendhal I don't know any of these stories related to this film, neither the film maker or artists. ;) But Interesting. And I want to get a DVD of this movie now. Seems a great work. Feeling good someone showing something positive from the real ancient India.
wow, i finally found someone who has it! i was going to try posting myself, but i'm having some trouble with the video capture. XP thanks for sharing!

It is called "The River" directed by Jean Renoir. Was re-released on DVD maybe a couple of years ago? Should still be available.
