I was almost in tears as I saw the beautiful faces of our brothers and sisters, touched and inspired by the same Spirit, reaching out to stand in holy places and receive the saving ordinances. The Gospel is verily true!
Per the Crosslins - temple workers this group saved for a very long time to save enough money to rent these two vans. There were 17 in each van. The trip took about 64 hours. In fact they took pictures with one wedding dress and each bride wore that dress. They all said "we will be back".
This group was also held up at customs in Camaroon and had to sleep in a tiny shack. The missionary couple was stopped at the border and had to stay in a shack but had no passport to enter Nigeria.
One of the amazing parts of this historic journey was how many fit into that medium size van. I was also told that (and I am not sure it was this group) that the women only could afford and brought one wedding dress. Each was sealed in the dress as they traded from one sister to another. What a venture of faith and great sacrifice as they all made it on faith and courage!
This group came onto the temple complex muddy but smiling. Before the temple closed that day, some of them came and the temple was held open to hold an extra session that evening for them. This group stayed for three days, they all were married (sealed) by the 2nd day. Finally on the third day all of this group participated in one session together. They all stood in front of the van ready to go home, and many were in tears as this entire group wanted to stay longer.
