What's so hard about peace is fear. What is more motivating, the promise of ice cream to do something or the promise to stop beating you to do the same thing. The first moves toward a positive thing the latter moves away from a negative thing. That 1% is driven by fear of loosing something they have, same as stopping the beating. Here here. Her staying in the race is not helping anyone but McCain. I have heard arguments that she is now continuing only in the hopes of running again in 2012, on a "I told you you should have elected me" line, but people have lost so much respect for her that she is ruining her chances of winning then too.
