@javenetti naruto fails at creating rasengan with one hand because his chakra flows to the opposite direction from rasengan. this simply means that, for example, while rasengan requires the chakra to rotate left, naruto's chakra in his body rotates right and that's why he needs a clone that can rotate his chakra towards the opposite direction. watch the episode when jiraiya tells this to naruto

Naruto was bummed that Kakashi could create a Rasengan without clones, while he has to use them. He even tried it and couldn't do it.

idiots first of all he used a wind release rasengan not a rasenshiriken 2nd it still used 3 clones but that just wasnt shown think about all the un-needed animation for that one scene 3rd he can only throw the rasenshuriken in sage mode which at the time he did not even have yet.

That was a rasenshuriken so he was able to throw it. What's weird is that he made it with one hand, when a normal rasenshuriken needed two clones to form one. Even if it was smaller, he still needed a clone.

@bjpogi210 no against pain he did one, but against Kabuto he used a shadowclone for the first time (in order to make Rasengan) he created a clone got his left hand pierced the shadowclone made the Rasengan kabuto sucked it. he only did one against that mechanic pain and that´s probably a drawing mistake of kishimoto. here Yamato compressed the chakra with his waterstyle jutsu
