It still amazes me what these machines can do! Awesome! As for the recycling, I am all for it! We need to make recycling MANDATORY if are going to continue to use plastics and cardboard products. This can all be recycled and is so useless to throw away.Then we can shred it and really reuse it.

There may be poor people around the world that could somehow use it, but it makes no sense to worry about sending a box of old useless clothes around the world when they could recycle the materials to make something new. This is less wasteful than your average person just throwing the stuff away anyway.

And frankly, watching a shredder shred colorful objects such as sports equipment or cars is much more entertaining and appealing to a potential buyer of said shredder than watching it shred something available in abundance, say, dirt. Businesses need advertising like this, their employees need to make a living, same as you and I.

Welcome to the world where we dont want to buy stuff that is old.

I have seen an documentary about electronic devices getting shred because it was "old" shops would have to give and discount on it and then people would think it`s bad.

But also stuff gets shred because of problems whit it like an error during fabrication or it could be fake items.

@ SquishDoll : There is and episode were it shreds a teddy bear, I also thougt that it would take a several times for the machine to take the bear into "the right position" but the bear was shreded instantly, and the knifes cut trought the bear like a warm knife trough butter, really amazing, I thought it wasn`t going to heapen because you can squeeze the bear flat, but it just got ripped apart:D

I work w/ an org that does recycling research and found that most thrift stores are so overwhelmed with plush toys that most go to landfill. We are working on turning them into insulation but looking for effective methods of processing.

Been watching SSI vids for a while but never really thought about it till I saw this one.

We tried a few other machines but they all get jammed up. One even began to smoke...LOL!
