  • I guess it's only known enemy is the square corner...Hmmmm...There's usually at least 1 or 2 of those in each shower.. How do you finish those with this device?

  • @BFtiling Those "enemies can be "finished" with a serious "weapon" called a Flat Trowel. You don't even have to have experience with this weapon. And, I'm assuming you are tileman, right ? If you are not sure how good you are, watch triller on Youtube -

"Shower Floor Mud Forming Device VIDEO 2", where tileman shooting from the hip and killing those 4 enemies in a couple seconds. So, don't be scary, believe yourself. By the way, how did you do entire shower, if you are scary of corners ?

  • @mun268 What I'm saying is, that if I'm going to have to get out a straight edge, float and flat trowel to finish all 4 corners of a conventional shower, I might as well just use them to do the whole thing the traditional way. Sometimes people overcomplicate things, and I think this product is simply solving a problem that never actually existed in the first place. And there was no need to reply in such a sarcastic manner. You could have just said that it can't finish corners at all.

  • @BFtiling PART 1. Sorry, if you fill uncomfortable with my sarcasm. I did not intend to use cold or rude sarcasm. My point is that to finish corners with a flat trowel is not a problem even for amateur. Just put down flat trowel on the already shaped surface of the mud and shave the rest of it. I do not see any problems for you (as a professional "tiler") in this regard. And there is no sense to disregard this tool, just because you have to use a flat trowel for awhile. (see more in PART 2)

  • @BFtiling PART 2 You have to use a flat trowel anyway. You have to pack mud down before you are forming surface and you have to "iron" surface after you finished surface forming. You do both those processes with a flat trowel. And I do not understand why would you consider this tool useless? Just because you have to use a flat trowel? Watch video "Shower Floor Mud Forming Device VIDEO 2". Guy did those corners in seconds. And he did shower 7x4 feet in 15 minutes. (see more in PART 3)

  • @BFtiling PART 3. As a professional, you know that this is a very short period of time. Also, I guarantee you that you can not do better mud job when you do it "Traditional" way. I can discuss about this separately, if you want to. So, when professional uses this tool he is doing it EASY, QUICK and PERFECTLY. One more point : without special skills amateur can perform better than professional. He just have to follow manual.

Isn't great ? I'll be glad to discuss more with no sarcasm.

  • This device is unique and can’t be replaced by any other tools or accessories, because when a shower pan surface has irregular shape, such as: hills, dips, steps, wrinkles or out of level surface. In real life, majority of shower pans have such a defect. But, this is not an obstacle for this tool. This device is not in contact with a shower pan surface throughout the entire process.

  • I float drypack the old school way. Its good to see ingenuity out there though. Cool tool, maybe I will try it some day.

  • Do your shower floor mud work quick, easy, perfectly. Good for DIYers and Pros. Wide range of use and wide range of users. Easy to use and maintain, durable, long lasting and pays for itself quick. Buy it once and use it forever. DIYer can perform like a Pro. And Pro can save a lot of time and efforts with this tool.

  • wAt happens is ya fllor waste is out of plumb?? then ya whole leveling will be out???

  • @74Andre "FLOOR WASTE IS OUT OF PLUMB???" Not a problem. Device installed with a Pole in vertical position. Position of the drain does not matter.

  • Yes, this is not "every day" tool (as many other tools are), but, when you need it, you need this one, for sure.

  • nice product just do not do enough shower pan floors to buy.. but good idea

  • @7dona7 Even after 2008 event people still building and making lot of repairs.

Don't be pessimistick, just wait untill November 02, 2010 and 2012 election.

Morover, if somebody's shower leaking, he won't even wait for 2012 election.

    I hope you've got convinced

  • Also, Mr. "dwatling1963", would you, please to describe more easier, and more faster method, and the way that gives you perfect craftsmanship at the same time? Would be nice to know.

  • Nice emotional statement mister "dwatling1963". And now, would be nice to know "Why do you think so"? Try to dig dipper inside your mind, use your logic and your "mud building" experience (if you have one) and make your point.

  • Good for a beginner or a "DIY"er. Useless for a journeyman.

  • @dwatling1963 - I always find it interesting how the most negative comments come from people who have no videos of their own to back up the expertise they claim to have. Journeyman or not, more people will believe your statements when you have visual proof you actually do this kind of work and do it well. Focus on improving the trade instead of tearing others down and we all benefit in the end.

  • @austinbathremodeling Thank you for clear - minded remark.
