  • Thank You! :)

  • Win + R; type calc; press enter; type in 98*97; press enter again; say result

takes me about 3-4 seconds. WIN

  • its 9506 :)

  • @MrJrCheeseBurger YAY I WAS CORRECT

  • (t+a)(t+b)=t²+ta+tb+ab=t[(t+a)+b]+ab. It's specially easy for t=100 or t=50.

  • thank you

    شكراً لك

  • This guy has a very relaxing voice! Thanks for the clip!

  • Hindoestani people are genius

  • Someone can tell my if this type of trick works for sentences like 83 * 39?

  • its 9509 i think

i used my math skillz but i dont think i got the right answer

  • nooo math!!! I HATE MATH!! im learning this in 5th grade sooo yea!! :3

  • the awnser is 9506 ive been trying to awnser it is 9506 not lieing :D

  • Again, please replay ASP because many of us asked you somewhat related questions? Then we will call you a new modern Einstein. kkkkkk (those 90's number are too easy) lol

  • Dear FaadumoArdo, I have posted below the solution to your question. Hope it helps.

These EasyCal Algorithms alone cannot make you Einstein however you can improve your Mathematics a great deal by learning them.

    Best Wishes

    Shahryar (Glad2teach)

  • Ok, I have a question for you can you do this mulitiplication in same method and show me how to do in 5 seconds. Here it is 62x53 ??? please replay to me

  • FaadumoArdo, if 2 numbers are not that far from each other & close to a Base then the Base Method works everytime. Otherwise use my Rainbow Method. Both can be done mentally

    Your Ques: 62 times 53 = ?

    Choose Base50 ( which is half of Base100 )

    Step 1: Do 62 + 3 ( cross Addition ) to get 65

    Step 2: Halve that 65 to get 32 50

Step 3: Add to it 36 to get your final answer 3286

    36 is the product of distances from Base50 ( 12 times 3 equals 36)

  • dont stop being glad to teach us thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge

  • try typing 3704556 on a calculator and then press equals and then read the numbers upside-down.

  • eaisest way to find it out: USE A GOD DAMN CALCULATOR

  • So how does this trick work if the number is above 100 for instance: 112 x 96 = ?????

  • Comment removed

  • does that only work for 90s?

  • @Sanguniej3s3 can you please explain how this works. If you know?

  • @Deathray75 I've already did :). You can see it in the uploader comments section, as it was responded by the uploader.

  • @glad2teach My point is, those tricks don't teach maths. There is absolutely no point in learning how to calculate 98*97 w/o knowing what you are actually doing. You can do those kind of calculations with a calculator. Math is all about understanding. If a kid (who doesn't understand math very well) sees this video, then he/she will deny what his teachers teaches him because you just gave him a shortcut which is not productive. You should only use shortcuts IF you know how they work.

  • @Sanguinej3s3

Right. People need to understand NUMEROSITY and to be able to somehow visualize what's actually happening in 98*97. However, in some maths curricula, they don't even let students ponder HOW numbers work, because the pressure is to get moving higher in difficulty and cover more topics in math is so great. Like so many countries' maths curricula, this video ASSUMES that you understand how numerosity works. If kids don't have the proper background on numbers, who's fault is that?

  • Someone said: "Sharing knowledge is Power ". Thanks for sharing such great tricks. Hope to see more and more such tricks uploaded by you.

  • if 46 x 45 , must we make 100 as base ??

  • @nexusguys (50 - 4)*(50 - 5) = 2500 - 450 + 20

  • He's voice is like Raj's from ''BBT'' :D

  • God I can't even make it through the 3 and a half minutes. I'm hopeless.

  • @MrBartSampson haha..waz ur age?

    hii

  • @guhanable 21, I know, sad right?

  • @MrBartSampson yess,sumwat

  • Sorry for the idiot question, but...I didn't understanded. English is not my native language, so I don't understand what you said. My question is: Where did the "06" came from?

  • @Destruidor155 i think its (-2) times (-3) :))

  • @02jolina

    Thanks =)

  • @Destruidor155 He multiplied the -4 and -2.

  • @JayDub09 Sorry. I meant -3 and -2.

  • WOWo_O

  • nice, thank you :)

  • First of all, knowing this means nothing... So all you dumbasses out there saying that school is useless, tell me.. Can you solve quadratics, algebra, or calculus with this method?? No! This doesn't make you any smarter, it just gives you a trick to show your friends you know how to do 4th grade math really fast.

  • Genius!!

  • Thank you. i wish i knew this when I was in elementary and high school. And I'm still happy to learn it now.

  • Wow this is so mesmerizing. I really really really like this

  • Ass

    Tronaut

  • 9506 in trifd seecond

  • YAY i got it right!!!!!

  • i remember watching this when i was younger, and i came back just because i love your voice, i was bored, and for some reason this entertains me.

  • Dear Dolerbom, thanks for sharing your emotions. Time indeed flows so fast.

I had created this video in the summer of 2007 and since then 1 million people have watched it. However I did not realise that my Math video would leave a lasting impression, someone would feel nostalgic about it. God Bless

    Shahryar ( Glad2teach )

  • That is awesome... :D

  • wow, that is quite a neat lil mathematical trick there

  • My face: OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO:

    My mind: -Blown-

    My eyes: -Tears-

  • omg thank you!!

  • If you want to know how to multiply smaller numbers, watch his video on how to do it, this method doesnt work on those because there is another method

  • Like a boss

  • yeh... useful for multiplying 90s. What about 63 * 54? 100 - 63 = 37 , 100 - 54 = 46

then 37*46=? Exactly, this method is only useful for the 90s...

  • @luv4drums1 yes, yes it is

  • Not useful, you have to remember how to do this trick even though it's only good for a small set of problems. You're better off rounding off a number (round 98 to 100) and then subtracting the extra. 100x97 - 2x97 = 9700 - 194 = 9506. It's almost as fast, works on a much larger set of problems and doesn't require any 'tricks' that aren't intuitive.

  • Wow I feel the same way. This has made my life so much easier. Thank you. I will be sure to pass ir on to my kids.

  • I see the light! Thank you!

  • try 58*49!!

  • hohohoho... very nice

  • 98 x 97= 9506.

  • @POPstar4u2 wow you can use a calculator (or you can learn from the video!)

  • thumbs up if u like his voice

  • holy balls this is awsome!

  • my teacher told me to multipiy the first number of each number then add the zeros but theres no zeros so how would u do it?...im gonna watch the video again!

  • 95x99 95x100-95 that is how i do it and it can work up to 1 mlion+ xD

  • dah 98x97=FISH

  • how to get d answer of 54*56= ?

in 5 sec or else il think u r a big foool

  • or just get a calculator

  • FUCK SCHOOL!!! i wanna becum an asian when i grow up!!!!!

  • 9506!

  • u r an INDIAN !!!...

    indian accent

  • thanks i did my homework in under a min and i had more than 10 xs questins

  • not true man... try to multiply eg. 96x97 or 99x98 not working wtf

  • @38thousandz Both work actually. You clearly didn't understand.

  • @CodHoogie oh *facepalm* :D .. my bad

  • i multiplied 97 x 100 then subtracted two 97's ... much faster

  • 9700-97-97=9506

  • if only i was still in school

  • WOAAHHHHH!!!!!! I still suck at math though.

  • My calculator calcutes that in 0.001ms. But i'm kinda slow at typing

  • WOOW SOO COOL! THIS HELPED ME ALOT! THX SO MUCH!!!

  • Thank you. This tactic will really help me!

  • Oh my gosh...... I'm going to show off to my class mates...... I'm such a jackass!

But seriously! How did you figure this out?

  • This video , I can understand what is being taught here, reminds me of watching the YouTube video channel titled The Kahn Academy with a person named Sal ( I may have the name wrong ) in the sense that the presentation USES simple methods to explain the math being taught. I wish I had this in school; some teachers had a voice that put me to sleep or were not patient enough in teaching the material. To the viewers and YouTube user Glad2Teach What do you think ?

  • 861 AND IN 5 SECONDS FTMW

  • @Expirement115 nvm i wrong

  • Isn't it faster for numbers near 100 to just round them up to 100 and then multiply what you added times what you multiplied by and subract that from you answer (for doing problems in your head)? Ex. 98 x 97 = 100 x 97 = 9700 - 2(97) = 9700 - 194 = 9506 (where the 2 is how far from 100 we actually were on the first calculation)

  • Witch burn him

  • i used a calculator :p

  • 9506

  • i learned more here in 3mins that 10 years of school

  • @a1inat I second that.

  • I thought it was 8164

  • i paused the video.

  • WOW i'm a real human calculator

    it take me 4 second

  • thak you for calling customer support

  • really awesome!!

  • So awesome!!!!!!!!

  • Maths is awesome, isn't it?

  • One does not simply solve this mentally

  • Comment removed

  • So is it right that it works with numbers over 50 only? Otherwise it negative...?!

  • Uh...... Confused..

  • 100 * 97 - 2 * 97

  • I like the method, and dislike the fact in the middle of explaining the sound goes out must be fixed.

  • @glad2teach ummm... it's your channel?

  • this method is only useful when you have numbers close to 100. for example: try multiply 45*50

    useless !

  • If they did then surely students would not be spending a decade of their life in school. Nobody wants to go out of business.

  • @glad2teach Yeah.. FUCK SCHOOL AND IT'S INDOCTRINATION!

  • i just broke my window D:

  • indians= epic

  • Very nice method , i liked the video but calculator would still be faster:d

  • i still use calculator!!!

  • oh my god!! I did it!! hahahaha....lol

  • wtf about more than 2 digits

  • This is not so effective! watch:

    example: 63 x 52 = ?

    distance from 100 of 63 is 37 and 52 is 48

so 63-48 is 15. So the first two digits are 15_ _

very easy till now. now just multiply 37 times 48 in 5 SECONDS!!!

    Good luck man!! (y)

  • the smaller the digits the harder to calculate but I still got the correct answer, wtf????

  • Wow! This was really helpful!! Thank you 😃😃😃

  • 124 people did not throw their calculator outside the window

  • mad scientist

  • for the fuck sake this shit does not have any practical use you are another youtube megadwarf wanting to be genius

  • @glad2teach Thanks so much for this video's, the helped me alot during tests that required making as much a possible questions without using a calc. You are cool!

  • Correction the Calculator is invented by Humans witch means Calculator came from Humans.

  • your voice is kinda annoying like hell.

  • Comment removed

  • You Asked the 98x97 late so i answered it ..lol

  • wow cool!

  • awesome video, thank you ,it helped a lot

  • Also works for 93*104

    93*(100+4)=93*100+93*4=93*100+(100-7)*4=(93+4)*100-28.

    So imagine-7 and+4

    93+4=97__then-7*4 and you get9672

  • This is how it works.

    lets say you

    93*97

    You can write it like

    (100-7)*(100-3)=10000-(7+3)*100+7*3=9021

    or like he did

    93*(100-3)=93*100-93*3=

    93*100-(100-7)*3=

    (93-3)*100+7*3=

    90*100+21=9021

  • reallllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy goooooodddddddd videoooooooooooooooooooo everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

  • chunk norris can say the answer in 1 second

  • 98x97= 825

  • Its always a indian xD Butt seriusly, Thanks man <3!

  • WHAT KIND OF SORCERY IS THIS

  • thank you come again..

  • i hate math but here is one 6478%32+123/712=1234+23654/234-123=1441235 and the total is ......... 1441235 (NOTE THIS IS MY FUNCTION NOT FROM VID)

  • @LUKAWiiBREW so ....... what are you talking about again?

  • So by using this method, what is 4537654 x 3129845?

My calculator used less than 0.01 second to calculate this. So you got less than that.

  • @DrMadolite hahahhahaha

  • 98x97=9506.

  • 122 people got hit by a calculator!

  • did it o the calculator before satarting speaking and just changed the video

  • i got: 98x97=9,506 in calc

  • It's 137.

  • is this only applicable for numbers between 100 and 90?

  • This conclusion is not true !! Distance from the Base 100 can be more than 10 as well.

See the 3rd Video on Glad2teach website ( link is below the video )

    For Eg: 88 x 89 = ?

    Distance from 100 of 88 is 12 and 89 is 11

    So in a cross manner Subtract ( 88 - 11 = 77 _ _ )

    Now 12 x 11 = 132 ( we just have 2 places left in our answer 77 _ _ )

So carry that 1 of 132 on 7

    Final Answer : 78 32

  • @glad2teach hello, if the two distance numbers are not of the same base 10 then you have to add their total multiplication to the cross manner subtract total not just the last 2 places. for example:

    82 x 62 = ?

    Distance from 100 of 82 is 18 and 62 is 38

    So in a cross manner subtract ( 82 - 38 = 44 _ _ )

    Now 18 x 38 = 684 ( we add 684 to 4,400 )

    Final answer = 5,084

  • nice!!!!!thx you so much

  • 9 405

    9 506

  • 8556

  • 9506 in 1 sec

  • 9506

  • are you pakistani or indian or am i wrong? ( i mean no offence :) )

  • sigh,

i'll go get my asian friend

  • Yes ! i just have math test tomorrow TY!

  • Ur a wizard habib!

  • baai inteligentule...

  • @RA330263 :D:D .... da merge .......e super metoda...si mai usoara ca in coloana

  • @DjNiko96 mda..am vazut ca merge dar totusi ma depaseste..am un telefon..are calculator..si cred ca e cea mai simpla varianta

  • lol it really works (like your accent XD)

  • multiplying by 9, numbers consisted of the same digits is easy:p :

    22222 x 9 = 199998

    33333 x 9 = 299997

    44444 x 9 = 399996

    9 x 9 = 81

    99 x 99 =9801

    999 x 999 = 998001

    9999 x 9999 = 99980001

    99999 x 99999 = 9999800001...

  • so simpel 98*100 -300 +6

  • vedic math huh?

  • Of course

    Hes asian
