Halo Combat Evolved, the first Halo game in the franchise, was then one of the, if not the best shooter game which has influenced all other subsequent shooters. The franchise was extremely great at is time period, but may now be outshone by modern fpses, but the fact remains that Halo will always be a classic, and that now all "good game"s are a result of Halo's existence in the first place. I never said Halo was my first game, I said Halo CE was the first shooter which revolutionized the whole *&^*ing FPS genre(FYI, in case u dunno, Halo CE was released in 2001 on the Xbox, then in 2004 for the PC). ALLL other subsequent FPSes took ideas from Halo, including this game, GTA, COD, MOH, Crysis, Borderlands, L4D and all other games with shooting elements you can think of.

Only reason why alaxarat isn't getting thumbed down is because he mentioned Halo. I'm pretty sure the first truly great FPS and is still one of the highest rated today is Goldeneye 007. If I am wrong then I am sorry but I KNOW Halo doesn't even fit the bill of role model.

Halo CE didn't revolutionize the shooter genre, retard. xD Halo was the same as a majority of the shooters before it, it just had more of an appeal. Shooters have remained largely the same. Halo was actually more simple than most FPS games that came out at the time.
