I have this medication now and i'm taking it for 3 weeks, but if this helps to improve the feel good chemical serotonin in you brain how can you get suicidal thoughts ?.
I never heared people feeling good have suicidal thoughts.. is this a variable not known why it occurs or what ?.
You know... if Lexapro didn't work properly for you, the chances are that you simply didn't have Depression or Anxiety... If you actually have an anxiety disorder, then you truly do have a chemical imbalance and pills are recommended... I don't know much about depression... but an anxiety disorder is best treated with pills...You NEED to balance yourself out... you won't feel tired or "not alert"... the issue with anxiety is you are WAY too alert, basically..
@PringDaddyPring Lol What if Lexapro didn't work but Prozac did? Does that mean I don't have depression? I have depression and generalized anxiety disorder. For me personally, Prozac is superior to all other SSRIs.
I know the difference from being on lexapro and not on lexapro. when not on lexapro you feel normal good energy and well focused. while on lexapro you feel tired low not very alert and restlessness. for me lexapro was not good it might work for you but for most people would have side affects. I did not want to take lexapro but psychiatrist prescribed it. I won't fall for that again. even if they think it will help it really does not.
I was on this lexapro 2yrs ago and it wasn't good. This pill made me tired throught the day. I was not able to sleep i had a strange feeling while I was on it. I did not talk much and i had to walk around my house cause this pill was making me freak out
Lets put it like this,, If I didn't take Lexapro, I would be sent off to some crazy ward and people would say.. he had a "nervous breakdown" LOL. Thank God for this very mild drug as my old therapist described it. If your on Xanex, try to get off of that, the is just a temporary fix, Lexapro will keep you "level" through out the day. I used to get nervous from just a loud motorcycle going down the street. I was to a point that I did not want to go out. This gave me my life back. TRY IT!
Don't let that goof ball below try to sway you. Obviously they are not taking it. After so many years to my therapist, I asked my physician to take over the medication, because I had nothing negative to talk about with my therapist. Plus I really don't have side effect sexually etc. I hope this helps someone decide to try this medication. I recommend it with ALL my heart. Thank you..
SEIZURES, SICKNESS, SUICIDAL THOUGHTS?????????????OK SO THE FDA GOES AND GIVES THE GO AHEAD FOR A "DRUG" (POISON) THAT CAN CAUSE SEXUAL DYSFUNCTION AND SERIOUS WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS IF STOPPED SUDDENLY? AND WHAT ABOUT WHEN YOU´VE BEEN ADVISED TO STOP TAKING IT? ARE YOU NOT GOING TO FEEL THOSE VERY SAME WITHDRAWAL EFFECTS? OF COURSE. ANTIDEPRESSANTS MY ASS. THEY CAUSE SUICIDE, PERMANENT ANHEDONIA AND FUCK UP YOUR DOPAMINE PRODUCTION. HOW MUCH DID YOU GET PAID TO MAKE THIS SHIT VIDEO?
Lexapro is known to increase suicidal ideation in a small percentage of those who take it. It now comes with a "black box warning" about suicide risk. Margo , the mother of suicide victim TAYLOR JO DOHERTY, wants all parents to carefully consider all the options before putting their children on prescription antidepressants and to watch their child vigilantly for suicidal symptoms if they do begin the treatment.
@johmedis You don't know how to take this pill. Talk to your doctor. This builds a level of serotonin (sp) in your body. This is not like taking an asprin! LOL
the great thing about Lexapro is you're being treated for mild depression and mild anixtey you don't need to be on a high dosage - 5mg worked well for me, it's a very effective antidepressant.
I finally went to the Dr's today for my depression. He spent an hour with me and decided that we should start with Lexapro. He also made an appointment for me to see a physciatrist (sp?). And he encouraged me to up my exercise. ( I currently walk for 30 minutes a day but he wants me to add yoga or something similar). He explained the side effects and wants to see me in 2 weeks and then again at the 4 week mark. My biggest fear is that this will interfere with my schooling/studying. We'll see....
@theginigin1 hello, i just read your comment and im curious how your going now days? i also just went to the doctor about similar reasons and got the same answers, how did they help you? or not, if you dont mind me asking :) thank you.
Oh, and what I mean by the suicide comment...This drug has definitely helped with the depression/ anxiety, I just experience more thoughts of suicide for no reason whatsoever, and they're usually very vivid and planned out than normal. IDK, it's not that serious for me since I would never, EVER act out on it, just please watch out for such thoughts.
I started taking this the other day, and it's actually made me a lot more suicidal than I already was, as well as simultaneously exhausted/restless. I reduced my dose to 5mg, too, which is pretty low. STILL, I'm in much better shape overall than what I was. Hopefully the side effects will go away soon, though.
Lexapro made me unmotivated to do anything at all, and I couldn't focus. I'm normally a very intelligent person (my IQ is 140), but I couldn't use half of the knowledge I had. I weaned off of it, and I'm all better now. I'm actually less stressed than I was when I was on the medicine. My psychologist said I'm the happiest she's ever seen me!
"Depression is a simulacrum of all the evil of our world: of our everyday discord and chaos, our irrationality, warfare and crime, torture and violence, our impulse
toward death and our flight from it held in the intolerable equipoise of history.
The question is whether we become enveloped by the horror, or become better sensitized to it, in a way that might help us do our little parts to comfort the afflicted and fight the injustice."
@jerrett Just because a medication doesn't do good for you, it can do great for othrs. Have you ever heard of the saying "one man's trash is another man's treasure"? That applies to medications, especially antidepressants.
There are millions of doctors that are recomending excersise instead of using these drugs, also becuase it has been proven that they do not cure and they just help a little. the price of using them somtimes is greater than getting well

I guess that when you don't really need to take this kind of drug, and someone prescribes it to you for some reason, your body will react almost the opposite to what it's supposed to do. I started taking it a week ago and I feel less anxious, I sleep better and I'm already a bit more social. It does make my mood kind of plain, like I'm still depressed...but not so sad, over sensitive, or suicidal. About sex issues, in my case so far, everything's still OK. I sure hope that doesn't happen.
been on lexapro 10mg for a year now post natal depression from the first few weeks i started taking it till now 100% zombie mode i hate it i cut down to 5mg a month ago 3 days ago i stopped taking it all together now im tired, sick stomach, electric zappy feeling, head aches but im 100% positive things will only get better from now, lexapro drained a year of my life never want it near me again.....
i have been taking lexapro for depression/anxiety problems for about half a year now and there havent been any side effects except i have an odd zombie state of mind. its effects can vary though for different people, but it definitely helped with my depression so try it out if you need it
For those of you looking at this video interested in medication for your depression/anxiety, I suggest you take the comments below with a pinch of salt. Lexapro will work different for everybody, as will every other drug you'll ever use. If your mental problems are interfering with your life, give it a shot. It's not nearly as bad as some people make it out to be. I've been on it for two years and I'm not impotent, nor do I sit around like a zombie all day.
This shit is poison. A doctor pushed it on me in high school for no reason. Probably medicaid fraud. Seems to be the new trend in the drug business. Kill people and fuck the government. This made me so sick and I never wanted to get out of bed. I broke out in hives... I got mono... got depressed which i never have before. I recommend never taking this drug it is poison. Ever since going on an organic healthy diet I have never felt better.

this stuff is AWFUL! its a lot like ecstasy without the coke. u feel good for a lil while, very social, but u can forget about sleeping and for the men, if u DO manage to get a hard on u wont be able to bust a nut for atleast a full day. i beat my poor girlfriend's stuff up all night until we both finally gave up. its great for lonely perverts with anxiety but if u have a girl/wife, dont take this and try to be intimate, its a nightmare!
I have been taking this for a week now.Overall my anxiety has gone down.I felt this drug start working the first day I took it but didn't get full effects until day 2 I am on 10mgThese drugs work quicker than the 3-4 weeks you are toldSome negative side effects I have has are
I haven't had an orgasm or sex drive in 5 days
I haven't been able to sleep well. I close my eyes but never enter sleep.
I have almost no appetite and have to force myself to eat. I haven't really ate anything 3 days.
Hmm, ive taken my 1 a day the last 4 days and my feet hands and sometimes mouth are all numb. I've been looking around the web and this doesnt sound like a drug i want to get on. Even though while i'm on it i feel great except the numbness (which isnt to bad)
This medicine is definitely not for me. It only made me more depressed and suicidal. It even made me really violent, I never have violent thoughts, I'm a peaceful person but on this drug I was really anxious and thought bad things
I don't know why it works for some and not for others, I don't know what to believe. But I Was perscribed to it a month ago and still havent taken my sample packs because I'm too afraid, especially after reading all this shit.
ssri"s work by injuring neurochemistry...they cause brain damage. this medication destroyed life. I am not kidding. i am 28 years old and completely impotent now for the rest of my life. i lost my job and girlfriend because of this medication. please be aware that i am not spreading hate messages. these medications have led me to me into hell. good luck if you are on it. ask your doctor about permanent sexual dysfunction associated with ssri use
I am 21, female and this drug has worked wonders for me. All in the same year, my parents divorced, my grandmother (whom i was basically raised with) died from liver disease, my husband deployed to Kuwait, and then left me for another woman, i lost everything, my apartment, car, i really was in a hole. Lexapro (10mg) daily helped me get back to normal and i actually felt like ME, i will be forever thankful, its a miracle.
dont work!!!!! i tryed everyyyyything.. the only fuckin thing that works is Xanax and Benzo's..does anyone know any Herbs that mimic Benzo's (other then Kava Kava cause it dont)
I started taking this medication for mild depression a few years ago. Im afraid it has a way of "hooking" you. I find that now when I try to go off it Im an angry aggressive person that is mad at the world. I was never like that at any time in my life before. Also, my sexual drive is gone forever Im afraid.
I've been on lexapro for close to two weeks.. I wanted help for a very long lasting depression and also for my social anxiety.. After 5 days suicidal thoughts came back.. then went away.. I was diagnosed with bipolar at 17 and used to take a whole lotta meds before becoming too skeptical of the industry. Now I'm giving in again because I don't know what to do and don't want to die yet. I know my doc doesn't give a shit about me though.. 3 minute evaluation it seemed.. here take this.. gimme $
@usblues100 The only way we're going to get anywhere is if we really think hard and maybe even write stuff down to tell the doc.. otherwise they just wanna push through all their appts and forget about their patients.. im going to tell him to recommend a therapist for a re-evaluation of my diagnosis and then try and get something else for my anxiety.. like i cant even go into grocery stores most days haha
@fetalbetal That's sad that you have a hard time just going to the grocery store most days. I recently went through a week long depression where I just couldn't shake it. I stayed on Lexapro and it eventually lifted, but I dont ever remember being so depressed prior to becoming a Lexapro patient. It makes me wonder what it's really doing, but I have made the mistake of trying to go without it several times and that's much worse. I hope things work out for you.
lexapro ruined my fucking life...i am completely impotent and sexually fucked for life after only two weeks of ten mg's per month...nobody fucking told me, a 28 year old male...that my goddamn fucking dick would never work right again. fuck forest pharmaceuticals. you people are out of your fucking minds. hell isn't a decent enough place for the makers of this shit.
I've been on Lexapro since last October, I feel as close to the normal I was 20 years ago and things don't stress me out quite as much. My Doctor hates prescribing drugs such as this but felt that I was in desperate need. He wants me off them as soon as possible and keeps coaching me on lifestyle changes, the problem is, I can't motivate to carry these things out. I'm not suicidal anymore and my job doesn't stress me so badly.
I became pregnant and had to quit this drug cold turkey, I had horrible, violent graphic, bloody nightmares. I It felt like somebody was tasing my brain, I was so tired. could not function. could not think
@gagasucks36 i was prescribed this a few years ago and the first day i took it i felt WAY too happy all day...then that night I too had insanely horrible nightmares and completely understand the "brain taser" feeling! it really did feel like there were electrical shocks in my brain.
Was on 20mg for a year. First off, it makes you want to sit around all day,I think thats why ppl gain weight. 2nd of all, I was a 4th year 3.0 neuroscience student and I failed every class after being prescribed. Got very paranoid that ppl were always talking behind my back, very suicidal, very dissociated, tired, zombiesh, picking many fights. Crazy thing is when I went off of it...I felt like I went back in time to the point where I started taking it, as if the last year was all a dream :(
@mathiasgandy switched to welbutrin. much better now. SSRI's allow more serotonin to be released but the problem lies in serotonin receptor downregulation. This is what dr's dont tell you. if your brain is flooded with more serotonin, the brain will catch on very quickly and attempt to decrdeas its sensitivity to serotonin by decreasing its production of serotonin receptors. once your off SSRIs, youll be much worse off than when you started because of the lack of receptors. Wiki "downregulation"
@thel0rider Thanks for the reply....I'll check out downregulation.....I have heard that the effects of Welbutrin wear off after a while People talk about how after two weeks or so its effects kind of dwindle down. Have you noticed this yourself?
@thel0rider But this logic works the other way around. Once you go off the drug, your brain will catch on very quickly and attempt to increase its sensitivity to serotonin by increasing its production of serotonin receptors. Sorry, you can't have it one way and not the other. The body adapts to all changes.
I took 1 lexapro for the 1st time a few days ago....people...don't use these type of drugs, it goes waaaaaaaay to deep into the head...I was puking in the middle of the night, sweating, feeling off beat....fuck that shit.
i went from this to marijuana, the body and mind doesn't really need any prescription drugs to make you feel better, try out marijuana,it will make u feel like your normal self again,it gave me inspiration to look at things another way,not saying to switch but try it out everyonce in a while,im not kiddin, best med in history of meds, vaporize it...
most drugs for the mind may work but it's like using a axe when u need a scapel. they dumb down the mind, make you not think. like the flouride in our toothpast, the same flouride the Nazis put into the Jew's water to dumb them down.
Have been taking lexapro for 2 weeks? I feel much better like the fog has been lifted. I was such a emotional mess I have never felt so stable in my life...trully has helped me...side effects none really besides eating alot...but im skinny so i can, sexual side effects none...still get hard but takes longer to blow...(kind of nice tho)....so far so good..
My ex gf was on lexapro. She is a walking testimony of why not to take it. We are good friends now, but when we were dating she confronted me with disturbing thoughts about wanting to kill/hurt me, herself, and others for reasons unknown to her. And the 'pharmacist' in this video.. detached !? Also notice that some who take such meds often appear to be a little too 'normal'. Don't judge the person, judge the drug.
I started taking escitalopram 2 weeks ago along with cognitive therapy and xanax but from 3 xanax a day I went down to 1-2 max sometimes none!! Not sure if its the escitalopram or the cognitive therapy but I am getting better! Changed my way of thinking about stuff and taken 3 months off of work. I do heaps of fun activities, before I was in my room checking my blood pressure every 30minutes. Xanax is great but very addictive though! Today I had none! I also take beta blockers for hypertension!
Oh yea..... you will also not care about having a relationship either.... your dick will turn into an oscar mayer stack of baloney....I lost 4 years of my fuckin life to these stupid SSRI's..... fuck these stupid fucking things
You will have a label for the rest of your life....... enjoy my friends enjoy. BTW if there is any fucks out there that know you that have MAJOR paranoia issues then you better be VERY FUCKING CAREFUL..... you may end up being called a psycho that would put you in the category of someone that would do something violent. FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK these medicines
Are you an artist? do you enjoy music... do you enjoy having emotions...... do you enjoy actually feeling anything? then DO NOT FUCKING TAKE THIS SHIT!!!!!!! If you want to walk around like the world is a beautiful place.... like your a walking Ecstasy pill... hugging everyone...... always smiling for no reason and not really caring about anything in the future PLEASE TAKE THIS MEDICINE (but you must be fuckin insane to want that... life is too fucking short). BTW once you start taking it
she kept saying, im thinking about the LONG term. meaning, she was thinking about how much money could the drug companies make off me by putting me on something that i would be dependent to for life or cause other serious mental illnesses, not about giving me something to help the therapy along so i could get better. real proffesional. i guess im just a dollar sign, not a person.
im on 10mg dose and i have been taking them for roughly 2.5 weeks now. i dont feel any better really. I noticed a few ups during the first week coming out of the hospital after attempting to take my life but yeah ive noticed right now my stomach is hurting and i have runny bowel movements now. I am hoping in another week or so i start to feel better. Lexapro isnt as bad as it sounds I believe..
hi tomkkkk! they started me on 10mg too. didnt work for me so they went up to 15 then 20. takes a good two months to stabalise i found. didnt notice many bad side effects though. somtimes a bit "loose" as you said! best of luck to you and you will come through it my friend!
There is not much longitudinal research on Lexapro - it is a relatively new drug. Lack of research is passed off as "serious side effects were not reported"....like hell ya.
My doctor ignorantly started me on Lexapro, believing it to be the most benign SSRI out there. I suffered more from the drug than from the reason why I took it.
Please read the FINE PRINT that comes with the drug.
i just saw a psychiatrist for anxiety and panic disorder and she was pushing lexapro like it was crack. i have been on both SSRI's (zoloft) and SNRI's (effexor) and experienced ALL of the adverse side effects involved with those medications. i told her this, and that i refused to take another of those medications, and that my personal illness would be better treated by a benzo(along with therapy) and she just kept pushing lexapro, not even another SSRI..LEXAPRO. like there are no alternatives..
You know what the joke is....when I got a severe migraine attack while on Lexapro, the neurologist recommended that I take Reglan, which is a prescription medicine for migraine. This had a very fine print somewhere about how patients on SSRI cannot take Reglan. Further fine print revealed that they found a 10% mortality from other severe complications. When I alerted the neurologist to this, believe it or not, he said that doesn't mean it will happen with me! How comforting!
lol yeah, not much logic involved in that field of "medicine". the psychiatrist kept telling me.. well when one SSRI doesnt work we try another! .. ok... so if someone is alergic to tylenol, and has adverse and life threatening reactions to it, you would advise them to take another brand of acetaminophen? lol... where is the logic in that?
I would strongly recommend starting with half a 10mg tab (ie 5mg) once a day in the morning after breakfast. Try and get some sunshine and relax. This med DOES work and is the only one around that makes you feel normal...and not like you are "on something".
Psychiatric medication does not have the power to cure. It merely suppresses symptoms & gives you a few you didn't have before. Once you get on that merry-go-round, it is an unhappy ride & difficult & dangerous to get off. Give the body the natural foods it needs & it will fix itself. The major cause of most Chronic Anxiety related disorders is a very common multi-resistant INFECTION called Pyroluria. It is Not Genetic. See the video, the 55 Minute Natural Fix for Anxiety by Mike Michaeloff.
i took on 5mg and i felt weird man i was clenchin my teeth together and felt all stretchy and shit like yawnin and shit. HORRIBLE. im stickin to benzo's MUCH MORE EFFECTIVE and i use alcohol when my benzos are gone.
The majority of these conditions are due to nutritional deficiencies. The others are due to extreme personality types.
L-Tyrosine and 5-HTP are the DIRECT nutritional pre-cursors for Dopamine, Norepinephrine, Adrenalin, Thyroxine, Serotonin, and Melatonin. Take them on an empty stomach or absorb the powder under your tongue.
Take a good multi-vitamin for the other micronutrients on top of a balanced diet and sufficient exercise.
Glad to hear it helps some people. It helped me for about 1 month, then it got horrible and made me want to kill myself. Made me very irritable. I stopped taking it, switched to Zoloft and felt better.
I don't suffer from any side effects from the lexapro. And I told my doctor about feeling happy for no reason, during a check up and he said it was because of the medicine. It might not do that for everyone, but it does that for me.
im happy you feel better in yourself and things have improved for you. my comments aren't personal to anyone, just stating fact of experience and truth
@kate101091 Just by taking once a day? I'm getting my prescription filled today and I hear it takes about 1-4 weeks to kick in but sometimes only a few days
@1Karmakazi1 It took about a week for it to kick for me. My doctor prescribed it for me for anxiety and depression, he also prescribed Klonopin for me, which IMMEDIATELY calms me down. I rarely have to take Klonopin now because I've been on Lexapro for about two years now and it keeps me pretty chill.
@kate101091 I thought about it more and looked it up, read that thats a common side effect for people at first, it's already gone away since yesterday. I can already tell the difference in my mood. I go in tomorrow for a check up
dont withdraw from meds because they wont make there profits!!! they are profiting from peoples lives and deaths!!! children are prescribed this bollox and children of under 10 year old have commited suicide as a direct result of the side effects, what more proof do you need!!! stop the murderous virus of drug companies and psychiatry, the industry of death
do your research about how many people including children are medicated unnecessarily and how many die! this is opinion and if it helps, fantastic but its not me that full of crap its the lack of info on these drugs that are made public. the psych system and its buddies in the pharmaceutical companies are part of a multibillion pound/dollar business so good luck with your meds, i hope your treated better than MOST people
they actually have no scientific studies that this does what they say it does. next time your "doctor" or psychiatrist says you need this mind altering crap, just ask him to PROVE IT. he will most likely change the subject
Agreed. I was prescribed this shit and I have seriously never felt worse in my life. Its like being underwater. I try to THINK like a normal human being, but my brain is numb. Utter crap
WRONG. They DO make you feel numb. I didn't notice it until I actually tried to do some work. Have you tried thinking on this shit? I'm fine at parties though.
Lexapro gave me my life back, I can finally function around other ppl again b/c of it. Only ppl who are seriously depressed or suicidal or anxious all the time should take it. As for the sexual side effects, they're pretty mild for me. Depression and anxiety didn't exactly put me in the mood to begin with before I started taking this.
this shit makes people crazy. I know people on it and they all drink and go nuts. another goverment experiment. your not supose to be happy all the time. zombie food!
I have been on Lexapro 40mg (twice the FDA approved dose) for depression and GAD. This is the only drug that has been effective for me. My libido is dead though.
I called a psychiatrist and told them I had panic attacks, he told me I needed to take lexapro 10X a day, he said 10 times a day, I asked him twice... what's up with that?
Dude, you're going to have some major probs if you take Lexapro more than once a day, your psych should have his license revoked if he thinks you should take that much. He prob meant to say 10mg once a day. Seriously, don't take more than 10 to 20 mg a day.
haha yea i know, i told the fucker to suck a lexapro bar (if they make those), I took only two pill, the second pill made my reality worse than my worst nightmare, I never took it since, and never will
when i take the 10mg, i cant feel shit..maybe its because ive been taking unisom sleep medicine (3 pills every night=150mg) for a 2 years...im also taking rozerem
wondering if it's safe to take with Viagra.. you know .. to balance out a significant side effect :P

Andi find it very weird that so many people take anti depressive medication ( an increase that doesn't seem to have a decrease anytime soon )
and no-one wonders why that is, i don't expect this coming from pharmacists because in the end it's business.

Oh, and what I mean by the suicide comment...This drug has definitely helped with the depression/ anxiety, I just experience more thoughts of suicide for no reason whatsoever, and they're usually very vivid and planned out than normal. IDK, it's not that serious for me since I would never, EVER act out on it, just please watch out for such thoughts.
electriquechair 7 months ago

There are millions of doctors that are recomending excersise instead of using these drugs, also becuase it has been proven that they do not cure and they just help a little. the price of using them somtimes is greater than getting well

KrabsMoon 9 months ago
I guess that when you don't really need to take this kind of drug, and someone prescribes it to you for some reason, your body will react almost the opposite to what it's supposed to do. I started taking it a week ago and I feel less anxious, I sleep better and I'm already a bit more social. It does make my mood kind of plain, like I'm still depressed...but not so sad, over sensitive, or suicidal. About sex issues, in my case so far, everything's still OK. I sure hope that doesn't happen.

I've been on it for two years and I'm not impotent, nor do I sit around like a zombie all day.

this stuff is AWFUL! its a lot like ecstasy without the coke. u feel good for a lil while, very social, but u can forget about sleeping and for the men, if u DO manage to get a hard on u wont be able to bust a nut for atleast a full day. i beat my poor girlfriend's stuff up all night until we both finally gave up. its great for lonely perverts with anxiety but if u have a girl/wife, dont take this and try to be intimate, its a nightmare!

3 minute evaluation it seemed.. here take this.. gimme $

Crazy thing is when I went off of it...I felt like I went back in time to the point where I started taking it, as if the last year was all a dream :(
thel0rider 1 year ago
@thel0rider Very interesting comment...Did you switch to another med or quit antidepressants all together?
mathiasgandy 1 year ago
@mathiasgandy switched to welbutrin. much better now. SSRI's allow more serotonin to be released but the problem lies in serotonin receptor downregulation. This is what dr's dont tell you. if your brain is flooded with more serotonin, the brain will catch on very quickly and attempt to decrdeas its sensitivity to serotonin by decreasing its production of serotonin receptors. once your off SSRIs, youll be much worse off than when you started because of the lack of receptors. Wiki "downregulation"
thel0rider 1 year ago
@thel0rider Thanks for the reply....I'll check out downregulation.....I have heard that the effects of Welbutrin wear off after a while People talk about how after two weeks or so its effects kind of dwindle down. Have you noticed this yourself?
mathiasgandy 1 year ago
@thel0rider But this logic works the other way around. Once you go off the drug, your brain will catch on very quickly and attempt to increase its sensitivity to serotonin by increasing its production of serotonin receptors. Sorry, you can't have it one way and not the other. The body adapts to all changes.

AlanKarMom 2 years ago
i just saw a psychiatrist for anxiety and panic disorder and she was pushing lexapro like it was crack. i have been on both SSRI's (zoloft) and SNRI's (effexor) and experienced ALL of the adverse side effects involved with those medications. i told her this, and that i refused to take another of those medications, and that my personal illness would be better treated by a benzo(along with therapy) and she just kept pushing lexapro, not even another SSRI..LEXAPRO. like there are no alternatives..
AENIMA42069 1 year ago
You know what the joke is....when I got a severe migraine attack while on Lexapro, the neurologist recommended that I take Reglan, which is a prescription medicine for migraine. This had a very fine print somewhere about how patients on SSRI cannot take Reglan. Further fine print revealed that they found a 10% mortality from other severe complications. When I alerted the neurologist to this, believe it or not, he said that doesn't mean it will happen with me! How comforting!
AlanKarMom 1 year ago
Sorry, it was not Reglan, it was Relpax....I get those mixed up all the time.
AlanKarMom 1 year ago
lol yeah, not much logic involved in that field of "medicine". the psychiatrist kept telling me.. well when one SSRI doesnt work we try another! .. ok... so if someone is alergic to tylenol, and has adverse and life threatening reactions to it, you would advise them to take another brand of acetaminophen? lol... where is the logic in that?
AENIMA42069 1 year ago
I would strongly recommend starting with half a 10mg tab (ie 5mg) once a day in the morning after breakfast. Try and get some sunshine and relax. This med DOES work and is the only one around that makes you feel normal...and not like you are "on something".
danielmy08 2 years ago
Psychiatric medication does not have the power to cure. It merely suppresses symptoms & gives you a few you didn't have before. Once you get on that merry-go-round, it is an unhappy ride & difficult & dangerous to get off. Give the body the natural foods it needs & it will fix itself. The major cause of most Chronic Anxiety related disorders is a very common multi-resistant INFECTION called Pyroluria. It is Not Genetic. See the video, the 55 Minute Natural Fix for Anxiety by Mike Michaeloff.

They don't aim to make you feel numb. They're meant to make you feel 'normal' by balancing out the chemicals in your brain.
Well that's how my doctor explained it to me.
timlpov 2 years ago
WRONG. They DO make you feel numb. I didn't notice it until I actually tried to do some work. Have you tried thinking on this shit? I'm fine at parties though.

so its an addictive drug like heroin!
Why not take heroin and get hooked and feel good?

Lexapro gave me my life back, I can finally function around other ppl again b/c of it. Only ppl who are seriously depressed or suicidal or anxious all the time should take it. As for the sexual side effects, they're pretty mild for me. Depression and anxiety didn't exactly put me in the mood to begin with before I started taking this.

Nanumir 2 years ago
Dude, you're going to have some major probs if you take Lexapro more than once a day, your psych should have his license revoked if he thinks you should take that much. He prob meant to say 10mg once a day. Seriously, don't take more than 10 to 20 mg a day.
JSak79 2 years ago
haha yea i know, i told the fucker to suck a lexapro bar (if they make those), I took only two pill, the second pill made my reality worse than my worst nightmare, I never took it since, and never will
