This is great! I absolutely adore the eerie ghostly sound of these classic ol' beauties when stood directly behind as they land. RR Conway turbofans sound fantastic but especially so on landings! Go hear 'em while you still can!
they sound even better when doing full power testing on a static test bed, get all the vortex round the intake and its the weirdest sound, memories of brize 10 sqn, being the youngest so was put outside for fire watch, but didnt mind, was soo kool.
I heard the tails wobble like my when being refuelled!! Not a sight for the faint hearted!
