  • As a massage therapist, I treat clients who thought they had carpal tunnel syndrome when they first came in but ended up being nerve entrapment in the scalenes, sub scapularis, or pectoralis minor muscle. The symptoms, numbness, tingling, sharp burning, or aching pain in the arms and/or hands mimic exactly those of CTS. Therapeutic massage (not a spa) with active release techniques applied will diminish those symptoms without surgery. CTS gets misdiagnosed and in many cases surgery not needed.

  • I have all the symptoms for it, but it's in my left little-finger??? is it soemthing else? i had it when i woke up, been like that for hours now...

  • please visit utbay.com

  • I have a mild case because of using my PC too much it tingles and is sort of numb. No pain and it seems to be going away but will it flare up easier next time???

  • Simple bright presentation

  • RNpedia.com to know more about this..

  • This video was great. I told my doctor about all fingers except the pinky being numb. he said that he thought it was frost bite, but referred me to a neurologist anyway for testing, turns out I definately have carpal tunnel, this explained in good detail for me what was going on!!

  • I hate this, can't play FPS in computer anymore >.<

  • hey i am at the computer alot and recently i got some kinda numb pain sometimes in my fingers and in my elbow and it hurts when i am using the computer mouse. and i heard you can get permanent nerve damage from that so could i have gotten that? i am 14 btw. the pain isnt so big but it scares me :( its only int he right arm

  • @UzumakiNarutoKun96 in all seriousness, you just need to stretch and try not to relax your arm on things for too long, this happens to all areas of the body, like how your butt hurts if you sit too long in a school chair or movie theater chair.

  • @Blastercheif628 That's a relief. Thanks

  • Is it still carpal tunnel if is your pinky and ring finger?

  • My wrist has been stiff for years, but I feel no pain. My flexor muscles are really tight, and I can't stretch my wrist out to hold a waiter's tray or do push ups. What could it be?

  • @DwyaneWadeCounty your stiffness is caused by your workouts bro, and it could have something to do with how you eat or your workplace, nothing too serious though because everyone gets stiffer as they age. meaning its natural.

  • @Blastercheif628 ok ok

  • Is it carpal tunnel possible in the wrist? from typing at a computer a lot? i do 3d animation and my left part of my lower rist is getting really annoyed

  • @GetMerkedHD yes typing at a computer is one of the most caused reasons of CTS

  • If only it was this easy to explain this to pt....lmao

  • How do u get CTS?Does it hurt? Lol im just wondering

  • @WebkinzTerrierFan83 you can get it from playing musical instruments like the guitar, saxophone, ext. and thing you use your fingers alot, and from typing at a computer also

  • So the nerve carries the mesages to the thumb and first three fingers? how bout the poor pinky??

  • @Supzer101 - pinky and half of ring finger are controlled by the ulnar nerve which runs on the medial side (inner side) of the arm, running below the medial side of elbow. any tingling sensation or pain in the pinky may be result of ulnar nerve compression (e.g. resting your elbow on a hard surface for an extended period, inflammation, fracture of bone)

  • I have this, it's a pain

  • do u get cts by playing too much wow?

  • @mrxexellent Most definitely.

  • that was noooo help =/

  • I have pain in the back of my hand below the knuckles and between the wrist area. What can I do to releive it??

  • hi guys,i just have surgery to cts.until now am still in healing process.but since i got my surgery done idont feel anything in my right hands anymore.I will recommend the surgery if u been dealing with the pain for long time.Today is my 9 days and my stich is really heal.Thank god i can get back to my routin now.

  • But my fingers dont feel numb they feel like a little asleep and its not on my thumb side its on the other side of my hand :/

  • I used to have arthritis pain all throughout my body, had pain for years and years, not until a friend of mine told me about an all natural, little known protein, did my pain go away.

  • guys can i get it from playing guitar, if so what exercises can i do to avoid this

  • Hey guys, I think I have CTS in my pinky finger, because there is a constant tingling sensation in it, and it's been going on for the last 5 days. It's not painful though, but I'm just wondering what to do.

  • @MSK120 - it's the ulnar nerve that is being compressed at the elbow level... don't rest your arm for long on your flexed elbow... compression of any nerve leads to tingling sensation ("asleep")..followed or accompanied by pain and if severely damaged, it may lead to muscle wasting.. find out the source of compression of nerve... repetitive movements are also a cause

  • @rodeo179 Oh, lol, that explains it. At the time I was doing some heavy PC gaming, and rested my flexed elbow on my desk for long periods of time. Thanks man.

  • @rodeo179 after surgery can i go back to playing at least 4-5 hours a day ? 9i was playing about 8 hrs daily??

  • @MrBingo9er - there are multiple factors at work. you should increase your level of activity gradually. Sometimes, the patients recover fully while other time, there is a possibility of relapse. So, make sure to take it slowly. Also, your doctors may have recommended stretching exercises for the wrist. Consume food that has anti-inflammatory properties (e.g. green tea, use of turmeric powder in cooking).

  • @MSK120 me too man...I'm worried because I play guitar and I don't want to lose movement in my pinky

  • @Rasengan0819 im a guitarist too and i have had this radial nerve surgery done R arm and now my left hand is killing me carpal t no doubt ..i was learning fast country chicken pick'n and here after 1 yr of playing like this my left hand is destroyed (untill surgery) it hurts even in my elbow

  • I've just been diagnosed with CT and the pain is unbearable at times. Icing my hand and wrist helps a bit. I want to know from others who have CT what works for them, and how they go about doing daily tasks because even writing, showering, and sleeping are hard at this point.

  • Carpal Tunnel stems from the neck...why does no one observe this? Start some relatxation techniques...strech out your shoulders, neck, AND forearms.

  • i dnt know what i have i have a slight pain in my wrist

  • I've had it for 2 years now...don't have money to get sugary(no insure) I do see an acupuncturist, and he recommend not eating Red meat, and eating Fish/shellfish. The omega3 really helps alot! most of the time the pain is gone. Its only when I eat red meat does the pain come back FYI he has a PHD, and a Masters.

  • Can you get CTS because of too much fapping? I'm just wondering. lol

  • @ImHotCozImFlat I don't know if anyone has replied to you before me but since its on the highest rated comments i shall explain;

fapping does cause stress to the body to the dick and the wrist but not in equal amounts, unless your position is rly screwed up like your in the fetal position or something. so your dick is bound to hurt a hella lot sooner before your wrist hurts from it. however despite that fact, it does speed up CTS if you do other things that would likely cause it.

  • I have carpal tunnel, to much WASD, if you catch my drift.

  • The inside of my hand and sometimes my forearm feels like its on fire, but dosen't effect what i do just very annoying. Its been like this for 7 months is it carpal tunnel.

  • I had both my carpals done. My surgeon said it only affects the hand. The forearm sounds like s/thing different. Get it looked at. Cheers.

  • I work using my hands a lot, I play guitar a lot and go to the gym regulargy, it's been about 3 months since hand started hurting, it wont stop, I thought it would get better by now....specially in the mornings it's freaking painful!

  • yea same here, i used to play guitar, consols, typing and work with my hands alot now i feel like choping my hand off, especially in the mornings. i feel your pain.

  • maybe lay off the heavier stuff first like heavy weights for wrist curls etc at the gym. better quitting that than guitar!

  • I did quit lifting weights and anything heavy, and even slowed on the guitar, it has gotten better somewhat

  • @feeps55 DID YOU EVER GET THE SURGERY DONE?im a guitar player and mine is hurting really bad and wont get any better i have had my right arm done looks like my left is next

  • @feeps55

Im on my second month and so far im using a brace when i go to bed (walmart special), B-complex vitamin and 100mg of B6 (just started taking it 2 days ago). I hope it will self repair since i read doctors give their patients 50-200mg of B6 and they get better after some time. So far im doing a tad better considering i dont wake up in pain and i guess that brace does work a bit to calm the inflamation.

BTW, i dont see any REPAIR info in this video :(

  • @feeps55 dude, i cant play the guitar since this CTS started, how are you doing with that? did you found a solution for it?

  • @jackomatic same! does ur wrist start burning?

  • @razor197 Is hard to self diagnose this condition. Did u went to the doctor?. My problem suddenly dissapeared. I stop using the computer a lot, i guess resting my wrists against the computer desk for long periods of time was making this pain to start.

  • @feeps55 WACK IT WITH YER OTHER HAND FAG

  • I've just have mine done on both hands, one week ago . No more dead hands at night. Hope it stays that way! I'd have thought medical insurance would cover it. I'm still waiting to see if my AIG does.

  • how do u feel now?i just had mine done a week ago only one hand now do u think in a week or two i can do the athere?

  • 7 weeks. Great. Scarring almost gone. Only a couple of twinges. Don't sweat the awful looking wound. The red line of skin under the top scar is new skin forming, and quite firm. I cut all the dead top skin off after 10 days...yuk. Still missing some strength in hands. Hands do assume an overpercentage of ones total being. Life's returned to almost normal. I'm a mechanic, and can lift heavy parts. I worried a bit too much. You know...little twinge.. omigod the op was a failure. Good luck.

  • man i hate watching surgery vids this one made my hand numb

  • Would Medicaid cover Hand Surgery or is that considered as Cosmetic surgery?

  • Medicaid should cover ask your primary doctor for a referral

  • is it broken? lol maybe growing pains depending on your age i had that as a kid sometimes my entire body hurt because my bones, joints, muscles were expanding, but meh im no fuckin surgeon, make sure your arm isnt broken you will smack your forehead so hard you'll have a hurt head too :P

  • uh, my hand doesnt hurt, but my parents say i have this, my arm hurts more ords the middle between the elbow and hand.. what is that?

  • sooooooo good, finally understand it

  • Gym + guitar = carpal Tunnel sydrome

  • awe man, I have tingling in my pinky and ring finger on my left hand, wrong fingers =( must research more now =(

  • try to research ulnar nerve neuropathy =)

  • I'm a hypercondriac with bad panic attacks lmao, watching video's on youtube about Ulnar Nerce neuropathy scared the crap out of me, but after watching a few videos, I relized I don't have that. They say like, "you can't move of two fingers a certain way or you will see muscle stuff." My fingers are perfectly fine, I can cross the on my own and my hand looks normal. they just tingle constaintly =) Thank you for the suggestion though =)

  • You probably had a trapped ulnar nerve.

  • i don't get it, pregnacy and overusage causes the carpal ligament to crowed with what?
