Thanks for posting. Bob Cole's call on the Bruce Bell hit is legendary. "Ohhhhhhh! Clark lined him up, and hit him hard!" Suck it Jim Hughson, you could never pull that off.
I remember watching a Leaf game with my Dad in the late 80's and he said to me "When Wendel's not hurt he's the best player on the ice". And wow was he right, game 6 against the Kings in '93 he put that team on his back. What a warrior!!
I think the kid below owes Roy and Dryden more respect. Care to explain how you think these guys came out of nowhere? What exactly does that mean? They won...cups shit for brains. Rubberheads like you give youtube a bad name. I dislike the Habs but know enough to say that Roy and Dryden were 2 of the greats. Funny how you only mention those two. Clown. Wendel.. pound for pound the toughest fighter the league ever saw.
I wish there was a video of Brashear pussying out of a fight with Clark in 1998-99 season...Clark's last season....Brashear was with the Caunucks and Clark was with the Red Wings.
Oh yeah, winning 24 cups is some fluke. Face it, the Leafs are losers. It's been the same old story for 41 years. You're probably one of those losers who pays an arm and a leg for leafs tickets, without realizing that you're getitng hosed by one of the shittiest ownerships in north american sports.
it is a fluke, habs always seemed to have some out of nowhere goalie (roy, dryden)to steal the cup. 1993 Leafs would have killed the habs in the final. And by the way, i don't get hosed for tickets. You wouldn't understand cheering for a real team if it came up and bit you. Although, you are probably a closet Leaf fan anyway.
montreal shouldn't even be called the canadians they should be called the habs or montreal thats it. their the most un canadian thing in canada. hell they tried to separate twice. (Quebec)
we don't have to honour people who work hard we choose to because in hockey its not the ring that makes you a great player its the hard work and impact you have on everyone around you and Clark was an all around beast and deserves to be up there with all the other greats.
You guys do have to honour the people who work hard, because the leafs havent done shit since 1967.What kind of numbers has Clark put up? Who cares how many bodychecks he laid on guys andhow much he fought? He impacted everyone aund him, yet they couldn't even make it to the stanley cup finals once. by your flawed logic, Bob Probert should be getting a banner in Detroit. At least he made an all star team, and was one of the most feared guys in the league.
if you actually knew anything about clarke then you would be allowed to comment clarke was almost a point per game guy and he got hurt alot because of pansy ass people probably just like you
Thanks for posting this, I was hoping someone would put it on Youtube. I noticed myself on HNIC that night. If you go to 3:11, see that kid with the sign? That's me at age 16. I still have that sign - those were the days! If I can remember correctly, that game was a first round playoff game against Chicago in 1995, I think the Leafs won that game but lost the series. After the Clark/Gilmour era, the passion was never quite the same...
I watched this clip on Hockey night in canada and was hoping someone would post it on youtube, so thanks for that. Its great to see inside the gardens again and wendel clark is a legend.
Wendel must have lots of boyfriends left in Toronto.

I don't know what makes me more sad... Knowing and seeing Wendel all retired, or just seeing the Gardens in the back ... I'll miss both for sure!!

My favorite player ever.
Goalscorer and tenacious fighter

Brashear in his prime would not fight Clark.

The Canadiens honor players who actually have rings, where the leafs have to honor guys who only worked hard. What a joke of an organization.

Even if clark had played for the habs and yet never won a cup, I would still honor him.
So stfu.

Good for you. I can't wait for the Leafs to raise Felix Potvin's banner to the rafters.
scruffz 2 years ago
Yes because the ONLY thing entertaining to fucking watch is scoring goals...no seriously, your right it's the ONLY thing that matters.
But I would rather watch Clark play hockey then Crosby, and 90 percent of the people the habs have raised to honor.

The ultimate warrior...we need him to come out of retirement or something!

First Clip:
labeling a guy into the board like that on an icing ? I LOVE Wendel but that's a BS play.

for the record, it wasn't an icing.
