  • @blitze234 No, its definitely not bad, unless you want to be a football player. You aren't unhealthily skinny. However while its not necessary, you would have huge benefits from gaining some weight, and exercise is one of the MOST important things for anyone do have in their regular life. I would advise that you lift every other day, sleep at least 8 hours every night, and eat 5 smaller meals a day instead of 3 normal sized meals. Also look up how to lift weights properly.

    I started going into a routine of doing 30-60 pushups every other day (tue,thur,sun) and have been doing this from september 2011 i have seen a few differences and have become slightly leaner but the main factor is my diet and rest i need to eat healthier and get more rest(sleep) is there anyway i can gain atleast 5pnds of muscle in 4-5 months with lots of rest healthy diet and commited exercise? please help me

  • Well I'm 6'0 140 and I'm skinny I've been trying to gain more muscle well my arms are musclier they aren't big, I want to find out how to get my arms big, and it's hard on my part becuz I really can't eat past my average cuz I'll feel sick, and that I'm lack toast intolerant so I can't have dairy products, so any advices?

  • I have IBS so eating more than normal is not an option. I'm 20 5'7" and weigh 130 lbs. I work out and try to eat protein instead of just eating more than normal. Will I get anywhere or am I wasting my time?

  • Besides all the other stuff with gaining muscle...food,sleep, etc...

    Your gym will influence alot of what you gain, in my opinion. If you go to one.

    If you goto certain gyms, alot of the people there will talk 3/4 of the time and train with NO intensity. When you watch all of this, you adapt to it. Make sure the environment your in has people that want to train the INTENSE way or you will slowly see yourself getting un-motivated.

  • its actually pretty easy to gain weight! you need to know what to eat and when! and of course protein shakes make it a lot easyier! i would also recommend training while you are in puberty because then you will gain weight very fast because of an overdose of testosteron. Sry for my bad english

  • Cheers man this sounds promising, i eat alot a mixture of all foods, i have 4 big meals aday and i work out near enough everyday, i know you have 2 give time 4 your muscles 2 rest, which makes them grow? But i did it for 4months and still not a change, so i stopped and started again, so if you could help me it would be great, im 15 btw im doing this so physically i wont find it as hard when i join the royal marines early next year. Thank you :)

  • Really helpful starter. thanks dude. Im 15 and a half, around 5'7, and 126 lb. i wouldnt say im horribly skinny but id like to put on alot more muscle however long it takes.

  • @KeepingItBrutal haha cool. Yh ive been lifting properly for about 6 weeks now and ive put on 1 1/2 lbs so its going good i just need to keep it up. If you want my recommendation then go look at some of scooby1961's videos. they're really good cos they cover nutrition and all the excercises you will need.
