I understand how you feel, but have found that we can always find a way to do something - if not money, time - volunteer with a child through an organization. EVERY LITTLE BIT OF ACTION ADDS UP, and I believe that the actual energy generated by loving intentions also goes out to touch others in ways we are unaware of...causing others to act in caring ways they might not have done previously. Exactly...I see my four daughters and all my students' faces within these children's eyes. We never know when or if our own nation could face calamity that would plunge us all into such conditions. If that occurred, could we honestly say we deserve the care and compassion of others? What are we doing for these children, so helpless, as we live in the USA's comparative lap of luxury? It's a question to ask ourselves and DEMAND of our leaders.

While the statistics stated are overwhelming, we cannot let ourselves sink into despair. We CAN change these things...just as we've seen slavery abolished in some countries, such inhumane practices such as these can be eradicated if enough of us speak out against it. BE A VOICE FOR THE CHILDREN!
