I can't believe I didn't notice this sooner. I KNEW that there was another reason why I immediately took a liking to Gosick's OP, it's because of this...
I KNEW I had some strange nostalgic feeling when watching Gosick's opening. And now I see that this was no accident, for Simon the Digger has decided to pass the torch onto someone who possesses a drill of nearly unrivaled prowess. I'll give you three guesses who.
@TheKnifekillerofmw2 you can't really compare the two. If I had to pick I would pick Gosick over Gurren only if I had to and that is a very hard choice, but Gosick is a great show.
@zanpaku No need to get hostile there. Maybe I should have assumed that you would take it more seriously (I figured nobody ever takes youtube comments seriously), but I just hear something off with the audio. I have the actual song stored on my HDD, and maybe it's just the way I have it set up but I feel that there's a difference. The video is still great and I didn't notice it before you made this, but It'd just be so much better if the audio was perfect.
@Redtheundead first of all, when you insult something someone made, it's a given that your gonna get some hostilitiy in return, so excuse me for being human. also, the reason why the audio is a little different is because i had to slightly speed up/slow down the speed of both songs to better fit the video. the video editing program i use is probably at fault for making it sound a little off.
The sound is compressed to a blockwave, especially during the second song, so the high-mids get distorted beyond oblivion. In any case, there are some definite similarities between the two, which is mostly in the the phrasing of the words, but the music is so generic that a resourceful soul might find more songs just like those two.

wow, they are completely interchangeable. I thought Sorairo days instantly the moment i first watched Gosick, but i didn't realize how well the opening goes along with the song!
When I watched the Anime , I saw the op and thought O.o ist that the same like in Gurren xD but it isnt ^^ But they are really so like there were done by the same artist ^^
i do see the similar qualities and see what you are talking about. but i get the feeling that you speed up the gosick song to fit more with the animation.
@angelofheaven18 yeah, i do realize the songs and animations are strikingly similar, but besides listening to other youtube songs of gosick's opening, i have noticed this one is faster. you can also see that the song ends at 1:27 instead of 1:30
@goatdean12 no idea. i went to find the opening on youtube to get a general idea of what it might be about, but the similarity of the opening songs got my attention. from what i've heard though, it's supposed to be a quality anime.
