@erra404 It's a pity the playgrounds aren't open . I passed my old primary school and found it now has a 3 metre high security fence around it that makes it look like a prison ! The theme of danger on the roads hasn't changed one bit though.
I've seen people jaywalking across El Camino Real, a major state highway with very heavy motor traffic. I've seen bikers cross the street on a red light.
Really enjoyed that, thanks. How things have changed though, kids who walk in the road today think they have more rights than a passing car. You get such filthy looks if you almost run into them as if its the drivers fault ! Too much attitude and lip from them now-a-days. Grrrrr :-)
You are right - no priority for children today ! The schools have become fortresses more concerned at keeping to targets than caring for the children.
Instead the children eat burgers and chips each lunchtime because it would infringe their 'rights' to make them stay in the school and eat school meals ! Mad innit!
Oh for the days when kids were inteligent and the mental age of parents was more than 10!

i don't think playgrounds are open after school here where I live, but parks are. I live near a couple with nice play areas.

They had the right idea in the 40s then.
Such a shame that these days its all about milking the motorist and nothing to do with safety.
