this video makes me cry! it is just so sad! but still a good idea to show people the truth! since I was little in my family we hav always had this kind of dogs, pit bulls, doberman, boxer, and I can tell they'r extremely strong. yes they are, it is not the same playing with a french poodle or a chihuahua than playing with a pitbull. (I have a boxer and a french!) they play all day and the boxer always wins! still I hav never heard the little one cry. My big baby is just so kind!

As I have 4 Staffordshire Bull Terriers (here they are classed as 'pit bull type').
I was walking my 15week old puppy through the park 4 days ago and she got attacked by a springer spaniel and a Labrador retriever, She has been left with a cut under her eye but luckily I picked her up on time and had to kick one of the dogs.
My other Staffordshire bull terrier of 4 years was attacked by a Labrador and Jack russell, I had to save her, Yet she didn't even growl.

ANY dog can become aggressive of they're taught to be or aren't socialized properly. And as for your mountain lion suggestion, a close family friend of mine has had one for almost 8 years now and she is very sweet because he is a good pet owner and has trained and cared for Brandy properly.

i rescues a stray pit bull when everybody thought it was a lab. shes the best! pit bull's temperament really depends on their owners! Lola is such a sweet pit bull i can play around with her, goof off, i can play fetch, wrestle with her, and i can take her on walks without her attacking anything.

These are terrible animals. I have been working in Denver now for over 3 years for a private contracter of the state which destroys these animals. In the Past 3 years we have succesfully exterminated over 5000 American Pittbull Ters. These are viscious animals through no fault of there own, they are just a corupted breed, and my heart truly goes out to them, but i love what i do, i can say that i am doing my part to help society.

I just got my first pit ...I had saved her from a family that beat her & did'nt feed her at all she did'nt know what puppy food was it took me 2 days to get her to even eat ...she is a lovely puppy & is doing great now I have a golden ret mix he is great with her as well they play all day & night my family & I can not let her go now she is a part of our lives now ...she does not need to go through the hell she did before I got her...she is awesome ..WE Love our pit

I agree dandcpark. BSL has already come to providence, which is only a few miles from me. If it spreads, both my german and my black lab/boxer will have to go I'm sure even if it's just the insurance because we can't afford it. My God, that is a fantastic video, but it's heart shattering. We don't need to get rid of the dog, we need to get a law passed to make it a right to own a dog. Qualify for a dog, there are just too many people who get these dogs because they think they are dangerous, then make them dangerous...I have a pit/lab mix, I rescued him from people who beat him, and I love him, he's my boy, and he is one of the sweetest, loving dogs I have ever had, or even been around. I cry for the animals.

Facts are that it is not just Pits being killed.There are many other mixes that are being killed with these laws.Boxers and other Bulldog mix.

Pitbulls are dangerous creatures, are responsible for the most deaths related to dog-attacks than any other breed, and there should be a nation-wide ban just like they have in some European countries. Pitbulls must be destroyed, and their owners jailed and fined.

Pitbulls are only seen as dangerous because of the people that train them to be that way for whatever reason (dog-fighting, as a guard dog, etc). I think it's unfair to try and punish dogs because of some stupid and cruel humans.

Why is it innocent until proven guilty for humans ? why not pitts too ? It's not even their fault. They are trained to be aggressive ... they can love and be gentle just as much as any other breed. Next we'll see German Shepherds or Rotties being banned. If Pitts are banned, evil people will choose another breed to make aggressive.

I've groomed, rescued&trained dogs to rehome for many many years and can honestly say that the steadiest soul I've ever come across is my adba red girl katie.
Fearless,nerveless&loving with a keen intelligence she is the epitome(no pun intended) of what this breed should be!
To embrace BSL means no more of her kind ever!

i love pit bulls and i would never hurt them and i love mine and would NEVER hurt him its the Owners that should be going through all that. I may only be 12 and i now pit bulls are not mean its the owners. When you look them in the face What do you see? a death sentence? a monster? or Even a dog from hell? all i see is a dog from heaven and one who will never hurt anyone. They don't Want to hurt us So don't hurt them just give them a chance

I just got my first pit ...I had saved her from a family that beat her & did'nt feed her at all she did'nt know what puppy food was it took me 2 days to get her to even eat ...she is a lovely puppy & is doing great now I have a golden ret mix he is great with her as well they play all day & night my family & I can not let her go now she is a part of our lives now ...she does not need to go through the hell she did before I got her...she is awesome ..WE Love our pit

When BSL comes to your state, VOTE NO and write letters to your legislators BEFORE it even gets to your state! It's the only way to save our best friends!!!!!!!!!!

I agree dandcpark. BSL has already come to providence, which is only a few miles from me. If it spreads, both my german and my black lab/boxer will have to go I'm sure even if it's just the insurance because we can't afford it. I've said it once and I'll say it again, they'll have to pry my babies from my cold dead hands.

If something can be eliminated by law because it _statistically_ causes harm to society, shouldn't high-school dropouts, firearms, alcohol, tobbacco, any gang member, and low-income neighborhoods be exterminated as well? It is unfair to associate any entity with a set of statistics.
If that were the solution to eliminate the problems of society then we would be exterminating minors who commit crimes (because they are more likely to be imprisoned for a crime when they become adults).

Hi there, i'm from the uk. what does BSL mean. we cant have these dogs over here without a licence. My God, that is a fantastic video, but it's heart shattering. We don't need to get rid of the dog, we need to get a law passed to make it a right to own a dog. Qualify for a dog, there are just too many people who get these dogs because they think they are dangerous, then make them dangerous...I have a pit/lab mix, I rescued him from people who beat him, and I love him, he's my boy, and he is one of the sweetest, loving dogs I have ever had, or even been around. I cry for the animals.

Aww, thank you for asking. ^_^ Nothing happened to her, but I love her so much and I know how deeply I care about her. When I read about SB861, I really couldn't stand the fact that innocent animals could be dieing because of the ignorance of some people.
I just wanted to dedicate the video to her. She was the one shown in the beginning. When I asked "What if it was your own pet?" I wanted it to hit me personally so I featured her in that place, and it really puts things into perspective.

It's a ridiculous bill (or whatever it is) that wants to ban (read: kill) all of the Pit Bills in California due to dog fighting. The idiotic thing is this: dogs have too pure of souls to do something like that. The individuals who teach them to do that are bad. They should ban the ones who commit the crime, not those who suffer from it. Even with those dogs that have been taught wrong can change if you give them a chance. I wish that more people could see that. Thank you for raising awareness.
