@ps2peter The problem was this whole team first thing. they should of played a 4-5-1 and looked for rooney. rooney should of stood in front of the team and said get the fuckin ball to me, all the time. other teams would have tried to counter this and then all their other stars could shine. the german's got through because of a disgraceful refereeing decision. if it was 2-2 at half time the game would've been completely different. ENgland wouldn't have had to come out all guns blazing and wouldn't have been so susceptible to a break away goal (3rd and 4th) Look at every stat and it will tell you England were the better team but all Germany had to do was get it upfield quickly against 1 defender to score. I'm not even from the British Isles, but if my country doesn't qualify (as is usually the case, I'm afraid to say...), I'm behind England. I wore the three lions for this WC! I know the England team is overrated (and the fans/UK press put undue pressure on them) and all that, but at least they come from a place that actually cares about football, and once the money starts draining out of the PL, even English youngsters will have a chance to start making an impact...

I can accept that was a mistake, but it had absolutely no effect on the overall result. They were 'gubbed' by a good margin and its not as if Germany won 2-1 was it? England cling onto 19 fucking 66, Escape to Victory and the fact that they believe England won WW2. Memories and history does not win games.
