personal computing - check cold fusion - success being disputed cloning - check dna profiling - check nanotechnology - still only passive nanotechnology invisibility - still experimental genetic engineering - check (though somewhat limited) laser surgery - check stealth technology - check in vitro fertilization - check virtual reality - still more or less experimental 7 out of 11, not bad
there is no observer message in the intro, how did observer save peter?or maybe is the sign of "the observer didnt save peter in the alternate timeline"
Haha, when I saw this, I laughed. It was so appropriate that they made an 80's themed title screen for an episode that took place mostly in the 80's. The music sounds just right from that time too.
I find it kind of funny that when you look at the 'science fictions' in this title sequence, many of these have been completed, like cloning, personal computing, laser surgery, and stealth technology. (although I am no expert on mondern technology and for all I know all of these have been invented. :/ )
@AirStryke71 lol, I believe that was the point, it's saying that all of those were at one point considered fictional and now they exist so who's to say that all the the science fictions in the normal opening won't one day be possible.
@Criz19710819 What is this cold fusion people keep talking about... I'd rather have my fusion warm, just out of the oven. With a side of pudding of course.
@iinspectra yes i think it might be on purpose (not being facetious)...some things progress faster than others ...a red 80's intro would be a trip....'dark matter' etc. lol
@hylianlegends Haha, as it turns out, things have changed! I started a few months back, and I'm more than halfway through Season 2. It's going pretty enjoyable so far. C:
I forgot how amazing this Fringe intro was! Even the text font choices are perfect, the grid structures, but the clearly CHEESY 80s synthesizer and drums were pitch perfect! I have alway loved old title sequences, such as Twilight Zone, and this just brings back those awesome memories!
J'adore ^^ en plus tous ces mots qui sont écrit comme dans le générique original suggère que c'est pas encore développé et que c'est des lubies de scientifiques *-*
qui sait peut être qu'un jour la pyrokinésie du générique original sera banale :p

@eXAKR Yeees, you're right! They showed the Cortexiphan experiment with the young Olivia (in Subject 13) in 4:3, too. :)

The scientists would have a heart attack in the 80's if they would get to know the technology in these days.
But technology can always improve... and science can always go forward.
I wonder what will the future bring.
Sometimes I want to be an Observer just for minutes - to know the future.
