  • So it turns out my local national TV station here (I'm in Singapore) is rerunning the season of Fringe that has this at 1 AM three times a week.

HECK YES. Can't wait for this episode.

  • fantasticaaaaaaaa

  • They should have shown this in the 4:3 ratio as well.

  • @eXAKR Yeees, you're right! They showed the Cortexiphan experiment with the young Olivia (in Subject 13) in 4:3, too. :)

  • personal computing - check cold fusion - success being disputed cloning - check dna profiling - check nanotechnology - still only passive nanotechnology invisibility - still experimental genetic engineering - check (though somewhat limited) laser surgery - check stealth technology - check in vitro fertilization - check virtual reality - still more or less experimental 7 out of 11, not bad
  • there is no observer message in the intro, how did observer save peter?or maybe is the sign of "the observer didnt save peter in the alternate timeline"

  • @MrQazwer001 very good question. we should ask Andrew Kramer about this.

  • ... wait this was on in the 80s????????????

  • I almost forgot about this. It's so going to be my new ringtone.

  • The scientists would have a heart attack in the 80's if they would get to know the technology in these days.

But technology can always improve... and science can always go forward.

I wonder what will the future bring.

Sometimes I want to be an Observer just for minutes - to know the future.

  • Haha, when I saw this, I laughed. It was so appropriate that they made an 80's themed title screen for an episode that took place mostly in the 80's. The music sounds just right from that time too.

  • This splash heavily reminds me of the film Tron.

  • I find it kind of funny that when you look at the 'science fictions' in this title sequence, many of these have been completed, like cloning, personal computing, laser surgery, and stealth technology. (although I am no expert on mondern technology and for all I know all of these have been invented. :/ )

  • @AirStryke71 lol, I believe that was the point, it's saying that all of those were at one point considered fictional and now they exist so who's to say that all the the science fictions in the normal opening won't one day be possible.

  • @Luxallmighty You understood my comment when browsing YouTube... I'm pretty suprised accually...

but then again, it IS a Fringe video....

  • @AirStryke71 Still waiting on cold fusion, though.

  • @Criz19710819 What is this cold fusion people keep talking about... I'd rather have my fusion warm, just out of the oven. With a side of pudding of course.

  • I love this version

  • This is my Ringtone. :D

  • @xEscalon I bow to you.

  • Walter Bishop and Kevin Flynn would have a field day in The Grid.

  • awesome

  • Best one, hands down.

  • we already got some of those

personal computing, genetic engineering, in vitro

    and others we're working on

    but that was the 80s

  • this is the best intro they ever made!! GO WALTER!!

  • Looks very British. Great stuff! :-)

  • @EvilDogMedia Lol! For a minute there, I though you actually made this (I've never watched Fringe). Note to self: Read the description.

  • @EvilDogMedia lol no it doesn't

  • This is sooo RETRO... I luv it.

  • My fave.

  • LOL. Now I get it. I wondered why there was a different theme...I'm so far behind and catching up fast. :)

  • @icekat83 same here :)

  • two people are observers pissed that they are not in the intro xD

  • Spot on music! :)

  • 0:04 - 0:06 uh we have laser surgery now, thats not fringe lol

  • @274joe Back in the 80's laser surgery seemed like Star Trek shit.

  • Laser surgery who knew back then that was a fringe science lol

  • lol. personal computing.n lol.

  • @themacbox or a palmprint without the thumb joint

  • I can just imagine those retro women with the big hair and way farers dancing to this XDDD

  • et pour une vraie version du générique en 1985 : 240p !

    (and for a real opening's version in 1985 : 240p !)

    ;P

  • @tokiomanga483 ouai ^^

  • my ringtone! best intro ever!

  • I got this on itunes, and I just put it on repeat

  • Awesome Fringe theme music , love it !!!

  • Personal Computing? Don't make me laugh.

  • Thats a realy nice Intro !

  • "Time Travel"

  • Not my favourite episode, but my favourite opening.

  • two people are observer

  • I want this as my ringtone

  • the hand is not very good

  • Where is the "observers are here" line? :O

  • 2 people were born in the 90's

  • I love how some of the ideas in the video are things we have achieved!

  • Fringe is awesomw .I like it . Is the best serie since X-Files.

  • @pain0405 they are so alike in some ways! both are amazing!

  • Did anyone else notice that 'nanotechnology' is in both the normal and this intro? :D

  • @iinspectra yes i think it might be on purpose (not being facetious)...some things progress faster than others ...a red 80's intro would be a trip....'dark matter' etc. lol

  • I don't even watch Fringe - only seen the normal intro - and this still made me grin.

  • @iinspectra Well you sir/mam need to watch it! You're missing out. It's been 4months since you wrote this, I hope that's changed :)

  • @hylianlegends Haha, as it turns out, things have changed! I started a few months back, and I'm more than halfway through Season 2. It's going pretty enjoyable so far. C:

  • Lmfao at the retro "fringe" subjects that pop up.

    Stealth Technology

    In Vitro Fertilization hahaha

    Virtual Reality

  • The only thing that is missing to make it authentic 80s is having Mike Post as composer.

  • i cant stop listening!

  • I just wish this was ten minutes longer.

  • great!!!

  • It's amazing that what was considered Fringe science in 1985 is now considered normal and mainstream.

  • is it bad that i rock out so hard to the 80's intro?

  • @GallofaSwan Not at all. I only wish there was an extended version. :)

  • @RzTen1 yes me too ;)

  • I forgot how amazing this Fringe intro was! Even the text font choices are perfect, the grid structures, but the clearly CHEESY 80s synthesizer and drums were pitch perfect! I have alway loved old title sequences, such as Twilight Zone, and this just brings back those awesome memories!

  • J'adore ^^ en plus tous ces mots qui sont écrit comme dans le générique original suggère que c'est pas encore développé et que c'est des lubies de scientifiques *-*

qui sait peut être qu'un jour la pyrokinésie du générique original sera banale :p

  • As an 80ies guy I can to say that this title sequence isn't just retro - it's as genuine as could be made.

  • 0 dislikes... fringe ROCKS TO THE MAX!!!

  • Anyone know what "tone" the theme line would be on a keyboard? I think "grandpiano80's" was kinda close but this is more techno

  • I want to dance

  • i wish that this was longer :(

  • @themacbox Yes it definitely does :D

  • Sounds like Tetris :D

    I LOVE FRINGE!!!

  • Awesome!

  • I love how the director played with the audience's hindsight... we've already accomplished all of what the intro said!

  • if you read it, most of the things are already done, like invitro fertilization, and nanotechnology

  • this episode (i think it was called "peter") was absolutely awesome ^^

  • Having clicked the 'like' button, this is something I like.

  • @riverfr0zen

Having liked you liking this and subsequently clicking the 'like' button, this post is something I like hence my clicking the 'like' button on your post.

  • "Personal Computing"

  • as a biotech student I can say I have done the great part of the things written in this intro :)

    it's kinda nice :)

  • anyone have the music track Retro Fringe

  • @BrunoSchagasLeiter watch?v=Ta5ov0q_abs there's a link in the video description.

  • I wish this were an entire song. This episode was incredible!

  • This is owesome. Absolutely best and funniest intro ever. For those who watch Fringe

  • @RAdenter you said the exact same things on /watch?v=-sXVCMeSeQc lol
