  • You should add one of those knives with a seatbelt cutter and a window breaker or something along those lines.

  • whats the song name o and i rilly love your videos you should put up a new one its been 4 months

  • I like how you put things to the test !

    Great set up and kits...

  • Why not pack a tarp or at least a space blanket for emergency shelter etc? And in the winter it's good to have a wool blanket too. No reason not to - you've got room in the vehicle.

  • My traveling bag consists of gauze, duct tape, a ka-bar, a wrench, and iodine tablets. At the end of the day, that's all you really need. Everything else is a luxury.

  • Candles are good to warm yourself if you're stuck in a car during winter. Those small rounded white candles that come in a metal cup are the best (I think they're usually used to do fondue.

  • which backpack do you think i should buy, this arcteryx mantis or a maxpedtion falcon 2 pygmy? gonna use it as an edc bag / day pack thanks

  • You should add a magnifying glass to your kit. There are so many applications that it could come in handy for.

  • Love this video! i am a volunteer first responder and I appreciate this video and the First Aid Pack Video! These two are essential and keep people safe.

  • Good kit, good video.

  • nice truck!

  • A good signaling item is those cheap little colored smoke bombs you can get during firework seasons. What would be easier to see other than a huge bright orange and blue and purple cloud of smoke coming out of the trees?

  • Dear Packrat556 i have a great kit im making for te winter becuase of ur idea with the extra clothes and other stuff Also i have a video with my main kit so please watch and comment

  • I might be mistaken but I did not see any para cord

  • Nice job on the kit. Looks like you have all the "must haves" covered. Much more that what you've got and you cross into the "nice to have" territory.

  • great video maby you can add two more things? i do carrey them whit me in my car:

a reflector vest and a (space) blanket i case of you need to stay long in your car

    take care (ecelent channal two)

  • would love to see that maxpedition 1st aid kit reviewed.

    great video man.

  • good vid. very practical stuff, nothing crazy as I sometimes see in other folks' vids.

  • You sir are extremely prepared for anything with that kit. Love the Arcteryx pack you have too, quality stuff. One day I'll have something similar

  • Nice

  • Hi Packrat thanks for sharing whats in your bag. I noticed you did not have much for shelter such as a tarp and sometype of heat retainment like a sleeping bag or wool blanket. I know you have the black garbage bag. Is this becasue of the area your in or just a diffrent outlook to what you will need. I carry basic shelter items and less food, my pack weighs in at 20 pounds without the water. Thanks, Steve.

  • ¡Great!

  • I would maybe include a good tarp to go with the bag and poncho it may seem like a redundancy but the bags rip on me in windy situations other than that ...... man you have it all great vid thanks for posting.... side note i live in such a crappy neighborhood that if i leave a bag in my car it would be gone in record time hahaha

  • I think most people overlook some sort of entertainment aspect. A book or something to use to relax during down time.

  • good vid as always thank you for what you do

  • I was looking at those water bottles in WM the other day and the label said not to put hot liquid. Have you tested it out by boiling water in it? Just wondering

  • thanks for the video, no doubt you are well prepared for emergencies, Take care!

  • Show us your favorite pack

  • you don't need a get home bag if you drive a gmc

  • this gives me a few ideas for my backpack even though i don't have a car i still try to be as prepared as possible.

  • Great video! Got me thinking about mine a little more. Good to see uploads from you again!

  • Great vid. Nice kit, well thought out.

  • a good add is some reflective tape to put on your cloths if you have to walk at night so you don't get hit.its better then a vest because there may be passangers with you.and then you can leave the glow sticks buy the car so it don't get hit.

  • Great job and very educational. Always good to see some good equipment from someone that has obviously used whats inside. Gotta pick a movie night and watch more of your videos.

  • by the way nice set up you have.

  • Are you able to have a CCW in your state? If so why no firearm?

  • Very nice.Great to see you posting again.

  • Very nice.

  • where do you cook your food?

  • Hey PackRat, looks like you got everything pretty much covered. I would reccomend adding a siphon hose to the kit or somewhere in your truck for siphoning gas or maybe getting water from a hard to reach place in the wilderness.

  • Excellent setup! Man it's good to see you Brother! I trust that all is well with you and yours! God bless you folks!

  • GREAT video!

  • Great video PackRat. Good to see ya back online.

  • Great video man keep the vids coming!great point on keeping certain items to stay only in your car or truck!

  • Good video. Keep up the good work.

  • great kit. Thanks for taking the time to share... CT is an awesome fella...lol

  • 9/11 was an inside job. See the collapse of building 7. Currently the US Military is helping to insert Al-Qaeda into Libya and bombing civilians; you remember those fellows that supposedly flew planes into the WTC. Now, as then, we have them on our payroll and we use them to run False Flags and terrorize other countries were bombing around the world. You do understand that your lied to daily by your Government and the National Media they control. However, I do like your videos.

  • Yay! you made a new video.

  • That truck is disgustingly clean and tidy.

  • was thinking we hadnt seen a vid for a while. good to see everything seems well with you. thanks for the vid.

  • What about some sort of insect repellent? I keep a spray can and also OFF! travel wipes in my truck that I use all the time when I'm out somewhere and the mosquitos come out. Other than that very thorough as usual. Keep the vids coming!!

  • PackRat!!! Well as in typical fashion you've created another top notch video. What's makes this one & all your other videos great isn't so much the "gear" that is featured, but the "why".

I appreciate the response brother, take care.

  • As always, another great video with excellent information and suggestions.

Great to see you continuing your video series, and always looking forward to your next posting. Thank you .

  • Great to see you making videos again. Hope to see more soon and hope you and your family are well.

  • Nice to see a video from you PackRat

Your videos are what first turned me on to bug out bags and the whole culture of prepping about 3 years ago.

Thanks for continuing the channel with great content.

  • Great video, think I will have to update my car kit

  • Nice vid, PackRat. Take care.

  • Nice car-kit, PackRat.

In my car I also have a equipment kit.

What good is the best equipment when it is at home. (e.g. if you go to work.)

A good equipment in the car is always good. :-)

    Thanks for showing.

    Have a nice day.

    Greetings Tito

  • Great video. I got lots of good ideas from it. I have those exact binoculars.

    Keep posting bro!

  • That cosmetic bag is a good idea. You can see everything inside. On those light sticks they last a long time don't they? Thanks to this video I checked my light stick to see if they still work, and it does.It is dated 2005.Very helpful videos thank you for doing them.

  • gotta say you make some really great videos of preparations and ways to stay safe and i do like to use a lot of your ideas and reviews as guidelines for my own. Thank you for making these videos and I am looking forward to more.

  • great vid and kit....i will be using some of your ideas. From personal experience i would keep a tiny cheap portable AM/FM radio in the bag. About the size of a pack of cigs but probably your most important prep the first few hours of an event. Obviously your truck has one...but when you grab your pack and go...you will need the know the info....routes, c events etc.....

also those lith AA are perfect for the radio...2 batts last me over a year in mine.

    i bought mine from CCom.

    hope it helped.

  • @YuddaLevy

:) just watched CFTs video..... and almost verbatim he shows the radio w/ the lith batts.

    again....great job.

  • I got to say that the LED Lenser flashlights are the best. I have a keychain flashlight and one that I dedicated to my B.O.B bag. I don't know how much you got your healamp for but my flashlights were, 15 dollars for the keychain and 20-25 dollars for the B.O.B light. I'm sorry for this long comment but you sure are prepared for anything. Take care.

  • ... useful kit indeed!

  • Awesome kit, gave me a few good ideas! Thanks for the vid!

  • Great video!

I carry a lighter too.. but I always get the clear ones so I can always check the fluid levels. I also keep mine in an old medicine bottle to keep it waterproof.

I don't know if you keep one in your truck or not..but I ALWAYS make sure to carry a pair of nail clippers... a hangnail will drive me bonkers. lol

    Thanks for the vid. =D

  • great vid man... i hope that u will make more and keep up the great work..god bless u!!

  • Thx for the info. My pack is probably too big. Now, I would hide the money somewhere else, though since all of YT knows where it is.

  • great vid

  • Toilet paper?

  • No canned food?

  • Great vid keep em coming

  • Nice vid. Keep them comminggg!!!

  • FYI you drive slow everyones passing you lol,but love all the videos hope there will be more

  • Cool..Likin It, Like it a bit better without the country music...=(... =|

  • very nice kit! I need to get one of these put together but i've just been putting it off. just hard to find a place for one in a single cab pickup. very little room behind the seat, and underneath has the mechanism for the seat adjustment. You've motivated me to get on it though. Surely I can find a way

  • Excellent stuff, brother! Also, i love to see people being prepared, more people should be. I carry my Maxpedition Remora get home bag/day pack with me EVERYwhere i go. Some people think it's over kill to carry it everywhere, but I'm prepared. Tonight for example, my car broke down. Had my pack with me, fortunately i was close to home and had my cell phone. But my point is, it was raining, dark, and i had my pack with me with things in it to take care of myself and get me home safely.

  • Great video. Nice to see you back!

  • Great video really like the pack

  • Excellent; you have most comprehensive car kit I have seen (other than my own). Maybe consider coins along with the bills which may be nice in case you find picky $ machines along the way. I also carry mainstay's water packets which are nice-they do not freeze in the winter and carried in the summer. Another thing I have is a lockable rubber-mate style container that has two wheels if you pull off the vehicle that can be dragged like a dolly cart (again wall-mart) if need to abandon the car.

  • i learn so much from your kits thank you so much be well!

  • i always love your video it teaches me everything i should know and it make me smarter for boyscouts

  • Great Vid

  • @DeanC993 Thank you my friend! I appreciate your time in watching!

  • Thank you! Much appreciated!

  • Great kit PackRat. Thank you for the video I always enjoy them. Take Care.

  • @1097411 Thank you my friend! I appreciate your time.

  • @PackRat556 Great video. Just wondering what do you use in the way of self defense? I did not see any guns or ammo in your pack. What are your thoughts on that?

  • I noticed you have some of the mountain house freeze dried meals in your pack. have you ever tried the beef stew? i did a review of it..seemed kinda soupy to me..not bad tasting though.

  • @mrmattvan I have eaten that one. If you add a little less water it thickens up nicely. I appreciate you watching and for commenting.

  • @PackRat556 Thanks for the advice! ill keep that in mind next time. Keep up the good work i enjoy the videos.

  • cool video man

  • @marbles112 Thank you my friend!
