madonna doesnt need to be a great singer, she's an entertainer, THE entertainer, the white beyonce if you will, honestly her singing is average at best but if we want to get into analysis of singers, janet, and britney are just OK singer, its the dancing and magnitude of performances that make them what they are. beyonce is the full package, good voice, great dancing, but she still doesnt have the strongest voice, again its the performances that make these women icons of the music industry.

The truth is that MADONNA was and is the biggest act ever to perform there. Keep talking ur shit if you want, but NO ONE DOES it BETTER than the QUEEN. Later that yr her tour went on to be the biggest tour by a solo artist EVER!! Daft Punk is no match for the number one female recording artist of all time.

If being surrounded by "more talented singers and dancers" meant longevity and worldwide success, Michael Jackson would have kept his success in his final years, and none of those manufactured pop sentations (boy/girl bands, Britneys, etc) would have a huge drop in their careers and/or completely disappear, after all, they are surrounded by a machine and a number of talented people.
@freddycannonII According to the Guinnes book of Records, she IS the most successful female in music AND very recently (actually, her latest tour, 2008/2009) became the most successful tour ever made by a SOLO artist, male and female. Not to mention that every little thing she does is watched by the entire world, and she's the most photographed woman on Earth. I guess it pretty much means she rules the world. I agree with you knut. I was there, and Daft Punk rocked it! Madonna was such a dissapointment, and she was the whole reason I went to Coachella that year. The sound was horrible and she played such a short set. It was a let down. I agree that Madonna is amazing! That's why her performance was such a let down.
@snshyn7 As I can remember, she was not only praised by concert goers, but also by the ciritcs. And she didn't even play on the main stage, she played on the dance music tent (Sahara). And just for the record, shows on the main stage never stop for the shows in the tents. But Madonna drew so many people to the Sahara tent (and outside) that they had to stop all the other performances during her short set. And it was amazing.
