I'm working on guitar looping and i would like to know what kind of equipment lets you change the pitch of the recorded pattern (as you start using the distortion) whenever you want. Thanks
@madekri This isn't looping - It's an entire piece recorded a number of times to build up layers with a final layer simply added on top live, not a loop. The pitch change you hear is in fact a key change.
actually, on second thoughts, and listening to classical versions, there's a lot more going here, so no, not really Mike Oldfield. What would be interesting would be to hear his electric version of this, given his distinct guitar playing style. As he can't read music, may be difficult.
this is what i love. endless repetition of beautiful sounds. just like our ancestors danced around the fire repeating their shouts endlessly til ecstasy or complete calm. so close to the soul. timeless.
@TheSquidKiller By the comments it seems you're right. :D Personally I'm just someone who loves music. It's good to see people doing GCSEs are being directed to something this beautiful, though. Shows what can be done with an electric guitar.
@lancejackchaza the score can be purchased for around $45 I think.
dude obviously nailed the performance, but i'n not really a fan of the different effects or of adding vibrato. i don't think it's stylistically appropriate to this genre in general, or to reich's music specifically.
WOW! Well done! I'm not a guitarist, but I'm a HUGE Reich fan, and love this particular piece. Excellent performance. You clearly understand the complexity and spirit of this piece. Nice effects on the guitar too!
what meter is it? and what key is it in? :)

@TheMatthewwheeler The key changes ALOT during the piece.
