If all these soldiers banded together to turn there backs on corrupt government officials...then it would be done. When people revolt, the government send troops and declare marshal law. If the soldiers also were on the peoples side...then who would enforce marshal law? Scary stuff.

If you think about it, there are lots of soldiers that don't like the way the country is being run. A lot of them being forced to do 2-3 more tours in Iraq. If all these soldiers banded together to turn there backs on corrupt government officials...then it would be done. When people revolt, the government send troops and declare marshal law. If the soldiers also were on the peoples side...then who would enforce marshal law? Scary stuff.

I'm not arrogant, simply realistic. Actually, what happened at abu-graib was the late night antics of an unsupervised squad on guard duty. The highest ranking person who knew was the squad leader, probably a Corporal, until the story broke. They fucked with some detainees because they were bored. Those responsible have been court martialed. That means the members of the squad. Its that simple, they did it on their own and as soon as their superior officers found out they court martialed them.

I have friend in the military, and some who are veterans that just got out. They also feel like the countries straying in the wrong direction. They came back after fighting in front lines (most Marines clearing houses), and are like "Ya we made Iraq safer...but at what cost. Honestly bro we should be in Afghanistan, I never knew why we were really in Iraq." Even Colin Powell admited it was a bit off to invade Iraq.
