@skywardism well 1.6 fixed the 16 x mono instance, and even added a 16 x stereo instance that works in Logic so you kinda don't need this anymore....I was doing this way back to get around the limited 8 x stereo instance (which was the only one that worked in logic at the time).......you can however use this to get 32 sounds out using the 16 x stereo version of maschine in Logic, which is still pretty cool if you need it......didn't even know 1.7 was on the way...gotta keep an eye out for that!!
@cprovenzo I wouldn't need that many outs (32) but I'll go over this again. Im just still new to logic. There is a real cool video on YouTube, I added it to my favorites. He creates an multiple out instrument in logics environment, cables it to the channel Maschine is on in the environment, switches his controller to midi, adds an external instrument track, and records midi directly into the channel that then in turn gets played back. I'm trying to set up my hits on diff channels(multi) this way
@cprovenzo as of either 1.5 or 1.6 on both mac and pc systems you can launch Maschine in 64bit. Although I'm on MAC Lion and I can't launch 64bit mode. Keeps crashing, not sure about snow leopard. If you're on Mac right click the Maschine app symbol in Finder and choose get info. Uncheck 32bit.
Yea I still need some help. I instantiated the 16xmono out and tried to follow, but all the extra 1.5 workaround stuff is throwing me off. Would you please hit me up with a little more help? I'm almost there, just still getting random results and not sure if I'm even supposed to do the bus share you do in this video.
How do I do that on maschine? and after Im done doing this.... does this mean I can record from maschine to logic? Sorry Im new at both logic and maschine.....
@MD2x Hit the SOUND Tab in Maschine (right screen side) and then hit the OUT tab (left screen side) that will bring up the window that lets you choose your outputs for each sound......the manual explains this also really well.....open up the pdf and search for OUTPUT....it will take you to the page that explains how to do it
Thank you for this. I like the export too. but this is great for quick changes in your sounds like if you wanted to change the kick or snare in Maschine.
hey i followed your instructions but for some reason as soon as i assign each to a bus the 1st two are fine pad 1 and pad 2 but when i do pad 3 pad 1 plays pad 3 sound at the same time and the same for pad 4 and pad 2. it doesnt double the sound but if i hit pad 3 it shows in pad one as well.
@SimeonQsyea I'm not sure what you mean, are you saying that when you hit pad 3, pad 1 plays, or are you saying that pad 3 comes out on the same output as pad 1?
@MD2x see above, I bet your doing the same mistake as this guy, you need to make sure that you have assigned all your pads in maschine to the different outputs IN MASCHINE....pad 1 and 2 to output 1, pad 3 and 4 to output 2, pad 5 and 6 to output 3 etc etc......
@SimeonQsyea That means you didn't assign pad 3 and 4 to output 2 in maschine.....remember pad 1 and 2 go to output 1, pad 3 and 4 go to output 2, pad 5 and 6 go to output 3....etc etc......that should do it for you....
@hifreak1c use the tab that says output on the top left of the maschine hardware.....use the top left most button to get their, make sure you looking at the individual sounds parameters and not the group parameters.......in that screen you change the output for the currently selected pad
This is great! I absolutely love my Maschine, but Native Instruments is THE WORST at providing actual tutorials for stuff like...they only seem to have tutorials for their partnerships with Ableton and Pro tools. I am currently using Maschine by itself, but I just got Logic Pro 8. I can't seem to find a tutorial that is step by step like this one. Where are the Maschine/Logic Pros on YouTube!?!?!? Someone Help Me!!!
@trzzonline Hey glad I could help.....if you're new to logic and want to learn more, check out SF Logic Ninja's youtube page.....David Earl is his name and he's a pretty smart guy who makes good tutorials for logic, other than that I would say check out the apple training series books for logic, they are awesome......
typical NI nothing ever works as it is supposed to. I was thinking about getting maschine but just like there other products it appears to be a load of b.s.
@Vipmaxp Don't get me wrong, Maschine is awesome...but there have definitely been some bumps along the way......I don't regret the purchase, and I'm pretty sure a lot of maschine owners would agree....
For some reason I cant get each drum on the different aux's in logic, they just stay on the first Inst channel strip (I do the paning and everything). Does anyone else have the same problem or I'm I just doing it wrong?

@DirectionDMP I think your problem is your not choosing a multi instance of Maschine, in this example I chose the 8 x 2(stereo) instance, either that, or your not assigning your outputs properly in maschine, you have to go to the output tab for each sound and assign it to the different outputs, pad 1 and pad 2 on output 1, pad 3 and 4 on output 2 etc..........if you really can't figure that out I can try and put a video up showing you what you need to do.....
Thank you so much for this. I've only had Logic for a little while now and this is the first thing i've done in incorporating Logic with Maschine. Your explanation was very straight forward and very easy to follow. Thank you once again for this
ok this whole panning thing. How do you get the full stereo sound do you pan it back later or something? I been wanting to this this with my Motif for the longest but I also have a maschine. How does it affect the sound when you pan it like that?
@chriscash1982 you would basically be taking stereo sounds and reducing them to mono......that may or may not work for you depending on the sound from maschine or the motif.....for me, it's ok for my drum sounds to come out mono because I put all my stereo efx (reverb, delay etc) on these tracks in Logic......if you're using stereo efx from maschine, or are using a sample that has a lot of stereo info, you are going to lose that in this process.......
Logic is cool if you JUST use logic w/ its instruements. thinking outside the box w/ logic is a headache man. Cubase is better in this regard as are several DAW's. Digital Performer is THE BEST when it comes to the clutch utilities such as Polar
@1stplates Logic is awesome in so many ways, but it definitely not the most user friendly.....that said, you can do sooo many things in logic that those other user friendly programs cant....so to me it's a give and take LoL
So can you bounce individual tracks like this?

Ahh. No 64 bit. Wtf.
FYICREW 6 months ago
@FYICREW Maschine is 64bit compatible?
cprovenzo 6 months ago
So we can record what were doing with the separated channels?
FYICREW 6 months ago
@FYICREW Yeah, but for that you would use audio tracks instead of aux tracks and follow the same procedure....
cprovenzo 6 months ago
Would you mind making a new multi channel set up video with Maschine 1.6 and log9?
FYICREW 6 months ago
@FYICREW Uhh ....it's the same exact thing...there's no difference except now you can get 32 out using the SAME exact technique..
cprovenzo 6 months ago
So now in ver 1.6, I can select multi out 16, assign each pad an aux channel in Maschine, and it should work?
