IF this was a professional news organization, when hostess says it is seeking bankruptcy because of the rising prices of sugar and flour, the first thing that should occur to you is figure out what the sugar and flour in a box of twinkies really costs. You could compare it to what it cost in the past and also to ALL the other costs involved in the business. While I do not doubt that Hostess is having trouble, I do not think the ingredients are a big cost.

@christinedbates : A scary amount of food stuff contains gluten also, most regular bread including most organic ones have gluten. So that has little to do with whatever these things are (never had a Twinky I have to admit) but I assume they're just disgustingly sweet and unhealthy for loads of reasons besides gluten.
