As a Brit my one regret about the prospect of a Democrat victory next year is the loss of Condoleezza Rice from the administration. She understands the value of diplomacy and being from Alabama she's seen the negative side of the United States. I think this gives her a more pragmatic view of the effect her country has had on the world.
I am not a political analyst nor an expert in international politics, so my question may sound naive to you, but here it is anyway: How come U.S. and Britain have the right to nuclear capabilities while Iran and Syria do not? Who or what entity made such a determination, and on what basis?
that guy in the background wants to be on youtube...lol. Good video. armed neutrality is what i've heard it called and it should be our position on almost all foreign matters, at least militarily.
What is our world role? We should revert to isolationism and rebuilding our economic position in the world. Our economy is showing some very serious long-term weaknesses, and China and other ascending economies are about to eat our lunch.
Just out of curiosity, becuase I'm not even sure where I stand on the subject, under what circumstances *would* you want America to intervene in the working of another country?
I am not sure that I'd want the American military to intervene in the working of another country. I think ambassadors have a legitimate role to play. I think the political, economic, and cultural effects of trade trumps military coercion any day of the week. Missionaries also play a huge role. But government ought only act in our defense, and only when the threat is mortal.
