It's too bad we're never going to see a match-up of today's young guns with the legends of the past at their best - IMHO, nobody played better all-around pool than Varner in his prime (of course Efren Reyes springs to mind, but he's no spring chicken anymore either).
Isnt it a little ironic that the commentator said that Varner is the only person to ever win the title back to back. Little knowing that his opponent will be the only other one in the years to come.
Watching these, helps me with our play as a team in APA! I am the captain of the team and have chances of calling time outs to help my players win. Varner made some shots that just didnt help him and could have taken an easier rout. That is y i call time outs for my players on team. GREAT MATCH TO WATCH TY :)
They had the whole conversation about where Mika was born, and played snooker on another match up. How many times are they going to colour the commentary with the same stuff? Dilberto is probably senile and just can't remember those details anymore. I love how Dilberto describes every shot with surprise and then claims the shots were not accidental.
Love how the announcers clash alot....like 42:17 one guy saying 'dangerous' (position play) and the other saying 'never a doubt' (refering to intended position)...too funny
Just a little useless info, when danny says never a doubt he's being sarcastic. He also says that when a ball stops in front of the pocket and dribbles in. Like never a doubt but there was alot of doubt
@ashleysdad1 Actually, the other guy was simply agreeing with the first guy as in "no doubt you're right". If you look at the context of his gasping as the ball is rolling, it's clear that that's what he means. No disagreement there.
He just prayed that he won't get snookered. And he can be snookered with only 1 ball left - that is when you can't take a shot from this position. He was lucky that he still had a thin cut left.
I agree, I don't like Incardona either for the same reason. "Notice how he brought the cue ball around the 7 in order to get the proper angle on the 5 into the bottom left hand corner. It was imperative that he get the right angle on the 5 in order to go back up table for the 6. Very good shot."
Dude, shut up! The people who watch billiards understand enough, we don't need a 30 second analysis of every damn shot. I like Danny a lot, he's funny =)
Danny's a moron... but in his defense he's referring to playing the one, bank between the 6 & 7, snookering the cue behind the 5. He wasn't proposing the the 1 could be potted.
Not quite the Varner anymore I used to know in terms of unforced errors, but one can still see why he has always been considered one of the most intelligent and creative players. Interesting to see he doesn't dare stick to his soft break once his opponent's on the hill - natural impulse to want to wack them with one's back to the wall, I guess. Immonen is his usual solid (and still youthful) self, of course. Thanks for uploading this!

There's a great 11-10 Mike Sigel v Nick Varner match from Accu-stats.
Nick Varner is one of the great representatives of pool people forget that he's won everything there is to win.

fuck off guys. Danny and Jim are great commentators. love danny's funny stories.
Don't like Billly Incardona 'cause he overanalyzes and narrates each and every shot.

He's just doing his job, be nice please.
sanydman247 2 years ago 2
I just don't understand why they continue to employ Danny. He's just awful as an announcer. He makes some of the most ludicrous comments.
dand100 2 years ago 2
Danny second-guesses the players a little too much. Billy Incardona does a much better job at explaining the table and entertaining the viewers.
Also, Jim Wych's Canadian accent is so obnoxious, with the twirled vowels.

sorry, but what is the problem in the break of rack 6?
noesilloz 2 years ago
He was questioning a rule that normally is in effect during tournament play and that is for it to be a succesful and legal break, that 3 balls have to pass the head string after the break. It prevents someone from soft breaking.
orko119 2 years ago
Ooh thanks for the response.
In this case it was a legal break because 3 balls passed the head string.
noesilloz 2 years ago
No, it was legal because they didn't have that rule in this particular tournament.
