This has to be the most confusing scene in Supernatural, I can't for the life of me figure out what their facial expressings and body language mean at all, like what did Castiels mean when he stared at Death in the end?
@GhostPirate6 when they asked if death can kill God he asks them how they think he can, but im not sure if he forgot he told that to dean or he was looking for an easy way out. and when he said "destined to swat you i think" did he actually acknowledge castiel as God or a god and think maybe thats who he was destined to kill. Im just dont think he can Kill God at least not as easily as everyone thinks
@eftultima I really do think that Death forgot that he told Dean as it was over 2 years ago. For him it is an insignificant detail that he told Dean. Why any need to remember it?

@THEDRAKKUS Basically means that Castiel's belief in his own power, with help from his new followers, created so much hype so to speak that he thought he was as powerful as either Death or God.

He is over all but he can be bond (someone people can prolong their life span you know, but they will still die because death will always be there) Michael is just an angel while death is an opposing energy to life(God).... In supernatural death said God will die too...
@death41626 Michael is hardly a midget - his true form is bigger than a building whereas Death's true form is only slightly larger than a person. Did Raphael use Death to kill Cas? No. Powerful beings can kill weaker beings without weapons.
@M4ttM3224 Dean: "So this is the part where... Where you kill me?"
Death: "You have an inflated sense of your importance. To a thing like me, a thing like you, well, think of how you'd feel if a bacteria sat at your table and started to get snarky. This is one little planet, in one tiny solar system, in a galaxy that's barely out of it's diapers. I'm old, Dean, very old. So I invite you to contemplate how insignificant I find you."
@death41626 Didn't Death say "... and started to get snug...? The Angels have wiped out other planets before ("this isn't the first planetary enema we've delivered") and they also find Humans 'insignificant'.
@M4ttM3224 we're just making a novel out of this... death said Lucifer was a only child having a tantrum, that settles it all. angels can not be compared to death.... death is all in all, the beginning and end of everything, even God. Ask death he'll tell you how the angels, universe, and every other thing was created... He is omini-everything and he will reap God too.
@death41626 If Death is 'omni-everything' (all-powerful, all-knowing) then why didn't he know that Dean would bind him? Why didn't he know why Dean had bound him? Why can't he undo the work of two Archangels? Why can he be bound? Why can't he release himself from a binding spell?
@M4ttM3224 because he was finding their activities entertaining so he lets them have free will to do their wish just like God lets us too... God is sometime a victim and so is death....
here is his profile : supernatural dot wikia dot com/wiki/ Death
@death41626 If Death is all-powerful (he has limitless power) then why not un-bind himself from Lucifer? Why not release himself from his "box six-hundred feet under"? Those wikis are just people opinions/interpretations.
@M4ttM3224 to get your answers you must first eliminate the bias thought of God the only all powerful we can find... Death had just compared himself to God in terms of age and even absolution, that he'll reap God. You and I know that things are not working according to God's original plan for man and he allows somethings to happen because he has to obey the natural order. The reason those things you stated can happen to death is because he also allow them to happen by following the natural order
@death41626 I still think God is all-powerful whereas Death isn't because it has been shown that Death has limits (he couldn't properly fix Sam, for example) whilst God hasn't been shown to have any. If Death could un-bind himself then why not do so when Lucifer was using him? That would preserve the natural order more than leaving it for Sam and Dean to do later. The only thing that has said God has weaknesses is Death who claims to be able to reap Him (that is a very bias comment).
@M4ttM3224 they are both victims in the scheme of things as they are opposing each other. Death said that he found the leviathans entertaining and also he doesn't care for us humans too. We can use this as a light into the fact that we are God's creation(his pets). That reminds me even the arch angels can't find God, they believe he's dead. What does that tell you?
@sn54 you should read all my lines from when i stated posting... i said "...one of the reasons i think those things could happen to Death is because he has to follow the natural order just has God has been following them and even becomes a victim of the laws sometimes"
@1Lanavis1 Of course at that time Cas was having enough nuclear arsenals so he could be a God along side... noticed he even dared death who had more nuclear than him? LMAO
@1Lanavis1 that's the point he tried to make when he told dean he'd reap GOD too... because everything always die... i somehow think death is God himself in another form like we have many personalities and we show it to different people at different occasions
i just cant forget the sad look on castiel face when dean , yell to death to kill him , castiel look so betrayed and heartbroken; that i am always in tears seeing this .
When inside a vessel Castiel didn't seem to do any damage, Raphael did lots, Lucifer did more and the damage Michael would do to his true vessel is said to be "far worse" than what Raphael did to Donnie.
@M4ttM3224 Lucifer only damaged Nick because he wasn't Lucifer's correct vessel. None of the angels have done any external damage to their vessels. Even if they did do certain damage, angels possessing the wrong vessel will do much worse damage. And Nick wasn't Lucifer's true vessel.
@GhostPirate6 Castiel entered, left and re-entered his vessel and it was unharmed; Raphael entered his vessel once and when he left it was severely damaged and Cas said Michael would damage Dean a lot more. It would seem that the stronger the Angel the more damage it does to it's vessel.
@M4ttM3224 While you do bring up a fair point, one can also argue that it was only internal damage that the angels did to their correct vessels. Jimmy did mention that it felt like being chained to a comet when Castiel possessed him. But they don't burn through their correct vessels, unlike Lucifer when he began destroying Nick.
Did you know Dean means: church offical as in an occupation. What if Dean is really god for supernatural who has amnesia? If he is able to be the host of the most powerful archangel why not. I thought it would be funny that once he knows - he and death will probably have a dis-spectfull conversation.
@shadowscion Uh no, I don't think Jim Beaver will be returning as Castiel. For one thing Castiel can't possess Bobby as Bobby and Jimmy aren't related.
@GhostPirate6 What does that have to do with anything? Angels in supernatural don't possess random people like demons(they pick special vessels), but the only requirement is they need permission, they don't have to be related. Plus, that came from Singer(the producer) himself.
@shadowscion Uh no, that's not their only requirement. The vessels have to be related. That's why Michael can possess John, Adam and Dean. Castiel also possessed Jimmy's daughter Claire. And we've seen Raphael possess someone who was specifically black. If all angels needed were permission why did Raphael specifically choose a black woman, or Castiel possessing Claire for that matter. If you're not convinced, just search for Castiel Scenes 4x20 The Rapture.
@GhostPirate6 the blood line serves for "true" vessels... an angel can posess any human... but deteriorate if incorrect such as lucifier and nick, his first vessel.
@GhostPirate6 Damage to the vessel does depend on the Angel's power - when Dean and Cas were looking at what Raphael did to his vessel Cas said "Michael is much more powerful, it will be far worse for you".
@M4ttM3224 That is when an angel leaves their vessel. Michael also promised Dean that he won't leave Dean in a drooling mess like Raphael did to Donnie.
@M4ttM3224 And Raphael wouldn't heal Donnie? Then explain why Donnie hasn't shown any sort of rotting of the skin during the entire time Raphael possessed him.
@GhostPirate6 Raphael isn't as powerful - he didn't harm his vessel as much as Michael and Lucifer would. Just look at Raphael in 4x18 and Michael in 5x18 and see how much damage each one does to people.
@M4ttM3224 Raphael didn't do harm to his vessel was because he was in his correct vessel. As for Michael appearing in 5x18, Castiel did the same thing to the demons working in a diner and burned their eyes out. The guys at the bar were killed but Zachariah's vessel remained perfectly fine when Michael arrived. And Zachariah is far weaker than Raphael. Not only that, Raphael blacked out the entire east coast when he actually touched down.
@GhostPirate6 You can also argue that Raphael was only concentrating his powers on Lilith during episode 4x18. Chuck, Sam and Dean were supposed to remain unharmed. Chuck being the prophet that Raphael was protecting; Sam and Dean being his brother's vessels.
@GhostPirate6 Instead of people/beings look at the damage done to the buildings - Michael smashed loads of glass when he arrived (with talking) but Raphael didn't smash/damage any.
@GhostPirate6 Before Michael started talking there was some damage to the building/glass. Perhaps they don't burn through their correct veseels however it would seem that the more powerful Angels do lots of damage to their vessels (Jimmy said it was unpleasent but he was otherwise unharmed).
@M4ttM3224 And my original point was, Castiel couldn't possess Bobby as he will start to deteriorate. And we only have Lucifer and Nick to go on, so as far as we know, the damage can be the same.
@M4ttM3224 Even if temporary, Castiel will still end up damaging Bobby. Also there has been no mention of Bobby being a vessel either. Not everyone can be one.
@Monbajes No, the TWO dislikes were that of the Leviathans and Castiel. The Leviathans count as one because they're technically one single entity inside Castiel
People of course god came before death. If there is no god there is no death as god came first and created everything. Giving death a job to do. How can death come before god what would death be killing? The whole one day I’ll reap god too seems to me like an event when the world starts again or something meaning that everyone dies including death just to be reborn and start the cycle all over again. Or I could be wrong who cares.
@crazyboy19881 yes and god created the universe. God has the power to give life and take it away so technically that would also make death apart of him in a manner. I think nothing will change your mind so let’s just end the debate.
@abiodun98 Death state neither he nor God can remember who came first, Death is as old as God, neither of them care who is older so why do you guys? lol
The moment they realize Death is unbound from their control, and most likely pissed at them for binding him in the first place, together with an, as Death put it: "Mutated Angel", whom also want them dead... Love their expression :D
So I have given this thought, I do not think Death can kill God. Death once told Dean that he could not destroy souls because they could not be destroyed. If God created souls and man was made in his likeness, then I feel that God himself, the origin of souls, also can not be destroyed...help me out anyone?
@JumperSC Yeah, I think Death was bluffing, cause, really? How are you going to go about killing God? He created all of them so, I'm pretty sure He's more powerful. Plus, He hasn't made one appearance yet and I don't know if He will. Kind of hard to get that kind of being on screen and be realistic about it.
Death is older than god. Or at least, as old as. As soon as something is alive, then Death will exist to take that life away. Be it god, or a human or anything. God is alive, so therefore, can die. Remember the Angels speculation about God being dead or just missing?
@JumperSC During Cas's story S6E20, Crowley offered Cas a deal and Cas said 'I cannot make a deal, I have no soul'.
So Angels have no souls however they can use souls to become more powerful (Like when Crowley gave Cas 50 000 souls from hell or when Cas got souls from Pergatory).
It is also possable for Death to remove/ give souls, like Sams soul.
Perhaps Death can kill God by removing souls from God or Heaven. Cas did say souls are pure energy without that energy maybe God can be killed?
@JumperSC It's likely that when it happens God will allow himself to be reaped by Death. Or they way I see it since both Death and God are incredibly powerful beings it's a form of keeping God in check. He's not perfect in the Supernatural universe and it's likely he feared that he may go on some dangerious ego trip so he gave Death the power to reap him if he ever went out of control.
@GhostPirate6 That does seem very likely. I try not to confuse the actual God with the one in Supernatural so I do understand how he could allow Death to be the "Stalemate" he needs in case he OD's on power. This way both entities can never truly destroy one another but they will never be more more powerful than the other? Kinda see what I'm saying?
@JumperSC Yes I do. There was a similar discussion over on IMDb on the Supernatural forums. I talk about it there too. You can check it out if you want.
They should bring God on the show the real one

@M4ttM3224 we're just making a novel out of this... death said Lucifer was a only child having a tantrum, that settles it all. angels can not be compared to death.... death is all in all, the beginning and end of everything, even God. Ask death he'll tell you how the angels, universe, and every other thing was created... He is omini-everything and he will reap God too.
death41626 1 month ago
@death41626 Death is the beginning of everything? You seem to have misinterpreted lots of things.
M4ttM3224 1 month ago
@death41626 If Death is 'omni-everything' (all-powerful, all-knowing) then why didn't he know that Dean would bind him? Why didn't he know why Dean had bound him? Why can't he undo the work of two Archangels? Why can he be bound? Why can't he release himself from a binding spell?
M4ttM3224 1 month ago
@M4ttM3224 because he was finding their activities entertaining so he lets them have free will to do their wish just like God lets us too... God is sometime a victim and so is death....
here is his profile : supernatural dot wikia dot com/wiki/ Death
death41626 1 month ago
@death41626 If Death is all-powerful (he has limitless power) then why not un-bind himself from Lucifer? Why not release himself from his "box six-hundred feet under"? Those wikis are just people opinions/interpretations.
M4ttM3224 1 month ago
@M4ttM3224 ok here are some of his quotes
"Life, death; chicken, egg; regardless, at the end, I'll reap him too." "God? You'll reap God?" "Yes, God will die too, Dean" - Death and Dean
"Nothing lasts forever. Well, I do." - Death to Dean
"Please Cas I know God and you sir are no God!" - Death
"Try to bind me again, you'll die before you start! Nice Pickle Chips, by the way" - Death to Dean
death41626 1 month ago
@death41626 That doesn't answer my questions.
M4ttM3224 1 month ago
@M4ttM3224 to get your answers you must first eliminate the bias thought of God the only all powerful we can find... Death had just compared himself to God in terms of age and even absolution, that he'll reap God. You and I know that things are not working according to God's original plan for man and he allows somethings to happen because he has to obey the natural order. The reason those things you stated can happen to death is because he also allow them to happen by following the natural order
death41626 1 month ago
@death41626 I still think God is all-powerful whereas Death isn't because it has been shown that Death has limits (he couldn't properly fix Sam, for example) whilst God hasn't been shown to have any. If Death could un-bind himself then why not do so when Lucifer was using him? That would preserve the natural order more than leaving it for Sam and Dean to do later. The only thing that has said God has weaknesses is Death who claims to be able to reap Him (that is a very bias comment).
M4ttM3224 1 month ago
@M4ttM3224 they are both victims in the scheme of things as they are opposing each other. Death said that he found the leviathans entertaining and also he doesn't care for us humans too. We can use this as a light into the fact that we are God's creation(his pets). That reminds me even the arch angels can't find God, they believe he's dead. What does that tell you?
death41626 1 month ago
@death41626 yet can be put in a box and binded up really omni-everything
sn54 1 month ago
@sn54 you should read all my lines from when i stated posting... i said "...one of the reasons i think those things could happen to Death is because he has to follow the natural order just has God has been following them and even becomes a victim of the laws sometimes"

@death41626 yea but who made those laws seems gods appoints ppl since fate herself said that god gave her and her sister's their job.

When inside a vessel Castiel didn't seem to do any damage, Raphael did lots, Lucifer did more and the damage Michael would do to his true vessel is said to be "far worse" than what Raphael did to Donnie.
M4ttM3224 1 month ago
@M4ttM3224 Lucifer only damaged Nick because he wasn't Lucifer's correct vessel. None of the angels have done any external damage to their vessels. Even if they did do certain damage, angels possessing the wrong vessel will do much worse damage. And Nick wasn't Lucifer's true vessel.
GhostPirate6 1 month ago
@GhostPirate6 Castiel entered, left and re-entered his vessel and it was unharmed; Raphael entered his vessel once and when he left it was severely damaged and Cas said Michael would damage Dean a lot more. It would seem that the stronger the Angel the more damage it does to it's vessel.
M4ttM3224 1 month ago
@M4ttM3224 While you do bring up a fair point, one can also argue that it was only internal damage that the angels did to their correct vessels. Jimmy did mention that it felt like being chained to a comet when Castiel possessed him. But they don't burn through their correct vessels, unlike Lucifer when he began destroying Nick.

Did you know Dean means: church offical as in an occupation. What if Dean is really god for supernatural who has amnesia? If he is able to be the host of the most powerful archangel why not. I thought it would be funny that once he knows - he and death will probably have a dis-spectfull conversation.
archangel2467 1 month ago
The actor playing death is so scary and funny at the same time. He plays the role extremely well - respectfully.

Nameless0061 1 month ago
@Nameless0061 The actor that plays bobby is returning as Castiel. Misha's role as Castiel is done but he might be returning as a different character.
shadowscion 1 month ago
@shadowscion Uh no, I don't think Jim Beaver will be returning as Castiel. For one thing Castiel can't possess Bobby as Bobby and Jimmy aren't related.
GhostPirate6 1 month ago
@GhostPirate6 What does that have to do with anything? Angels in supernatural don't possess random people like demons(they pick special vessels), but the only requirement is they need permission, they don't have to be related. Plus, that came from Singer(the producer) himself.
shadowscion 1 month ago
@shadowscion Uh no, that's not their only requirement. The vessels have to be related. That's why Michael can possess John, Adam and Dean. Castiel also possessed Jimmy's daughter Claire. And we've seen Raphael possess someone who was specifically black. If all angels needed were permission why did Raphael specifically choose a black woman, or Castiel possessing Claire for that matter. If you're not convinced, just search for Castiel Scenes 4x20 The Rapture.
GhostPirate6 1 month ago
@GhostPirate6 Castiel explains that it's in Claire's blood as it was in his.
GhostPirate6 1 month ago
@GhostPirate6 As for Jim Beaver returning as Castiel, I haven't heard that. Just that both he and Misha are returning.
GhostPirate6 1 month ago
@GhostPirate6 the blood line serves for "true" vessels... an angel can posess any human... but deteriorate if incorrect such as lucifier and nick, his first vessel.
simonking195 1 month ago
@simonking195 I know that, that's why I don't believe Jim Beaver will be returning as Castiel as we'll soon seem him rotting much like Nick.
GhostPirate6 1 month ago
@GhostPirate6 It would depend on how strong the Angel is. Cas would take ages before he started burning through a different vessel.
M4ttM3224 1 month ago
@M4ttM3224 Burning of the vessel has nothing to do with an angel's strength, just the bloodline.
GhostPirate6 1 month ago
@GhostPirate6 Damage to the vessel does depend on the Angel's power - when Dean and Cas were looking at what Raphael did to his vessel Cas said "Michael is much more powerful, it will be far worse for you".
M4ttM3224 1 month ago
@M4ttM3224 That is when an angel leaves their vessel. Michael also promised Dean that he won't leave Dean in a drooling mess like Raphael did to Donnie.
GhostPirate6 1 month ago
@GhostPirate6 Because Michael would heal him.
M4ttM3224 1 month ago
@M4ttM3224 And Raphael wouldn't heal Donnie? Then explain why Donnie hasn't shown any sort of rotting of the skin during the entire time Raphael possessed him.
GhostPirate6 1 month ago
@GhostPirate6 Raphael isn't as powerful - he didn't harm his vessel as much as Michael and Lucifer would. Just look at Raphael in 4x18 and Michael in 5x18 and see how much damage each one does to people.
M4ttM3224 1 month ago
@M4ttM3224 Raphael didn't do harm to his vessel was because he was in his correct vessel. As for Michael appearing in 5x18, Castiel did the same thing to the demons working in a diner and burned their eyes out. The guys at the bar were killed but Zachariah's vessel remained perfectly fine when Michael arrived. And Zachariah is far weaker than Raphael. Not only that, Raphael blacked out the entire east coast when he actually touched down.
GhostPirate6 1 month ago
@GhostPirate6 You can also argue that Raphael was only concentrating his powers on Lilith during episode 4x18. Chuck, Sam and Dean were supposed to remain unharmed. Chuck being the prophet that Raphael was protecting; Sam and Dean being his brother's vessels.
GhostPirate6 1 month ago
@GhostPirate6 Instead of people/beings look at the damage done to the buildings - Michael smashed loads of glass when he arrived (with talking) but Raphael didn't smash/damage any.
M4ttM3224 1 month ago
@M4ttM3224 Castiel did the exact same thing in 4x01 when he was trying to speak to Dean. He nearly destroyed the gas station Dean was in.
GhostPirate6 1 month ago
@GhostPirate6 But that was with his voice.
M4ttM3224 1 month ago
@M4ttM3224 And Michael was talking to Zachariah wasn't he?
GhostPirate6 1 month ago
@GhostPirate6 Before Michael started talking there was some damage to the building/glass. Perhaps they don't burn through their correct veseels however it would seem that the more powerful Angels do lots of damage to their vessels (Jimmy said it was unpleasent but he was otherwise unharmed).
M4ttM3224 1 month ago
@M4ttM3224 And my original point was, Castiel couldn't possess Bobby as he will start to deteriorate. And we only have Lucifer and Nick to go on, so as far as we know, the damage can be the same.
GhostPirate6 1 month ago
@GhostPirate6 In their true vessels the stronger the Angel the more damage is done so I'm going to assume that the same goes for other vessels.
M4ttM3224 1 month ago
@M4ttM3224 Even if temporary, Castiel will still end up damaging Bobby. Also there has been no mention of Bobby being a vessel either. Not everyone can be one.

Or I could be wrong who cares.

crazyboy19881 1 month ago
@crazyboy19881 yes and god created the universe. God has the power to give life and take it away so technically that would also make death apart of him in a manner. I think nothing will change your mind so let’s just end the debate.

So I have given this thought, I do not think Death can kill God. Death once told Dean that he could not destroy souls because they could not be destroyed. If God created souls and man was made in his likeness, then I feel that God himself, the origin of souls, also can not be destroyed...help me out anyone?
JumperSC 2 months ago
@JumperSC Yeah, I think Death was bluffing, cause, really? How are you going to go about killing God? He created all of them so, I'm pretty sure He's more powerful. Plus, He hasn't made one appearance yet and I don't know if He will. Kind of hard to get that kind of being on screen and be realistic about it.
TheKuroshikyo 2 months ago
@TheKuroshikyo why would death lie? He has nothing to gain. His only interest is keeping the natural order.
jason71ist 2 months ago

TheKuroshikyo 2 months ago
@TheKuroshikyo No one bosses death around without a binding spell.
jason71ist 2 months ago
@TheKuroshikyo
Death is older than god. Or at least, as old as. As soon as something is alive, then Death will exist to take that life away. Be it god, or a human or anything. God is alive, so therefore, can die. Remember the Angels speculation about God being dead or just missing?
Giantfxckingoctopus 2 months ago
@JumperSC During Cas's story S6E20, Crowley offered Cas a deal and Cas said 'I cannot make a deal, I have no soul'.
So Angels have no souls however they can use souls to become more powerful (Like when Crowley gave Cas 50 000 souls from hell or when Cas got souls from Pergatory).
It is also possable for Death to remove/ give souls, like Sams soul.
Perhaps Death can kill God by removing souls from God or Heaven. Cas did say souls are pure energy without that energy maybe God can be killed?
gingy717 2 months ago
@gingy717 AAAAAAh Another great theory. I love this
JumperSC 1 month ago
@JumperSC It's likely that when it happens God will allow himself to be reaped by Death. Or they way I see it since both Death and God are incredibly powerful beings it's a form of keeping God in check. He's not perfect in the Supernatural universe and it's likely he feared that he may go on some dangerious ego trip so he gave Death the power to reap him if he ever went out of control.
GhostPirate6 1 month ago
@GhostPirate6 That does seem very likely. I try not to confuse the actual God with the one in Supernatural so I do understand how he could allow Death to be the "Stalemate" he needs in case he OD's on power. This way both entities can never truly destroy one another but they will never be more more powerful than the other? Kinda see what I'm saying?
JumperSC 1 month ago
@JumperSC Yes I do. There was a similar discussion over on IMDb on the Supernatural forums. I talk about it there too. You can check it out if you want.
