I have an M&P compact in .40 now but I think I wanna upgrade to a full sized. Do you have any idea what makes the PRO series different? I tried to find info on the S&W website but had no luck
i have one of these. quite a good gun. I've won a number of service pistol matches with it. even shoots well out to 50 yards. although apparently the rifling is designed for jacketed ammo. allegedly the rifling doesn't always grip the cast projectiles properly, although I've never had any problems with mine. an armorer told me that S&W have to pay Glock $5 for every one they sell, due to it being a very close copy of their design.
The L stands as said for "Long" , the barrel and slide is about an inch longer than the standard modell.
I have this L verson and it's by far my favorite 9mm, deadly accurate and very confertable to shoot.. I'd recomend it to anyone. I use mine for IPSC Production Minor and have never had any kinda problems or misfire. It goes bang every single dang time.
whats the l stand for??? does it come with a built in lazer?? Th m&p is a beast of a gun. i just did a tactical shooting course with mine,and the shotter with me used a modded glock with sand papper hand grips lightend fireing pin, and a butt plate on the end of the mag, and i still shot a better score. the m&Ps all day.
@GunWebsites absolutely nothing, just thought someone should mention it so you don't keep making the mistake. Just throw a little piece of electrical tape over them and you've "covered your ass" for possible future problems.
Damm, ive been trying to pry myself out of a blackwater tactical-MP9 dilema for about 48 hrs now and cant decide between the two. Sad part is that already gave the downpayment on the tac and iive in P.R. if you know what i mean.
Nice ! it seem it was designed to go head to head with a Glock 34. Interesting ! Can you give some specs... That will look cool in the video. Good Job !
Only down side I see is a lot of manufactures are starting to smooth down the rear sights (the front of the rear sight that is) making it harder to clear failures one handed....small thing I guess but its nice to be able to tap rack with one hand using the holster or belt and the rear sight.
New camera or just having fun with the macro settings?
oooooh boy a glock in drag

apparently the piece of felt inside the return spring is there to change the harmonics as the spring kept breaking.

@gusr6 S&W might have to pay Glock for the Sigma, which is heavily based on their design, but the M&P is a very different design.

L = long

@mympsick I bet I could shoot my glock better or any pistol. Its not the gun its the shooter.
Almost all guns are more accurate than the shooter can be.
