@12mausmovies no it is not modded because when they first made the recon they didnt put on a plunger cover. they recalled it because people complained that it would pinch and pull skin leaving welts on the hand. thats why it has a plunger cover now. look up nerf recon recall on youtube.

The nerf recon was one of the worst nerf guns by its rang. If u look closaly wen one of the kids are firing The back end i taken off(the orange is shoing) witch means it was moded to shot farther. Nerf faked its rang by moding it. :-)

@TheGSutt Yea yugiohzeldaguy is right the older version doesn't have a black cover. The reason why it now has the black cover is because some kid got his face caught in the plunger and NERF got sued for it. So, They had a recall and put that cover over it decreasing range but making it "safer". Personally I have an old Recon CS-6 and I put my cheek against the plunger, it didn't get caught I am definitely not going hand in my Recon so they can make worse.

@legonerfkid99 A sucessfully modded recon is the best weapon ever! I had it modded so it shoot farther, can use any type of bullet (like the sticky ones), got it in shotgun mode, upgraded the laser pointers, and finally spray painted it. It looks awesome.
