@MrIrfanCrazier In the commentary, the director explains that prostitutes, for a time, were required to expose their breasts in order to overtly prove their femininity, that is, to prove they weren't men. The lords didn't like it when they bought a prostitute only to discover, at the inopportune time, she was a he.
