Frozean was already low on scvs, so he couldn't spare any more to scout out *potential* bases in obscure areas. If effort hadn't scouted frozeans base as early as he did, and his first hatchery finished morphing, he could've been in a bit of trouble. Frozean had a sound strategy as far as cheese goes, so you can't really blame him for trying.

He could have scouted with some of his marines though I think. His bunker was enough to hold Effort in and he could have spared a marine. I'd be happy to be corrected if this is not the case.

But yeah, it was a pretty well executed cheese to be honest, and he got beaten by a counter risky move...

@attackfighter if the zerg hadn't scouted the base in his first shot he would've deffinitely lost the game.

and frozean didn't need to use scvs to scout, he could just used a single marine.

if you go for a 2 rax opening you either go all in(with SCVs) or you put early pressure and turn back into an econ build. Frozean did neither, he basically put up a contain, but still pumping marines. so he didnt do much early damage nor did he get sufficient economy. not to mention that the cheese backfired on him since Effort did sneak in a base outside of the contain.

Effort was a lucker with that drone getting out and expand.

Also, Frozean should of scouted the map for hidden expansions. 1 or 2 marines were enough to do that.

lol, not pro at all, but the players think more in depthly in their games. Effort knew he was going to get attacked so he sent the drone to another expansion, that was not by chance. Even killing the medics wasn't really luck( lucky that they were medics instead of marines) but he knew there would be units he could intercept as they were newly being built.
