wow, i wonder why its called that...must be alot of white roses growing there huhh...oh no i think that is where the slaves were but fucked by old mr joe.
i work in White Settlement. the name was chosen in the 1850s to distinguish the village of white settlers from a grouping of seven villages occupied by Native Americans.
No, White Settlement really was established by, and for, white folks. There was a referendum to change the name of the city in the last year or two, to escape that legacy, but it failed.
"White Settlement" is a suburb just west of Fort Worth, TX
This was hilarious, and here's how it all happened: All of the Big 4 stations here in North TX were following a police chase in progress. This breaking news took up so much time during the 10pm news that it forced all the stations to basically scrap all of their originally planned stories at the last minute. WFAA made a last-minute call to toss to weather. Troy and Pete Delkus were unprepared to be tossed to, and the rest is history.

the best one was them reporting live from mystiqal on 2-2-2008, a guy gets on the stage with the reporter and gives the camera the both fingers. he manages to jump down right when the reporter turns around...earlier in the broadcast he gets petlted by mardi gras beads.i had it dvr'd but magically it got erased...then last week while dirk nivinski was being interviewed you can hear someone in the studio saying the f word...i have this one and will upload it at a later time..
I love the off-camera remarks. Two seconds in: "We're live!" Eight seconds in: "Back to a two-shot, we don't have it. We don't have it." God, I miss Chip Moody and Tracy Rowlett.
WFAA in the post-Marty Haag era has gone down the toliet. What was once one of the best stations in the southwest has become a bottom of the barrel car chase and murder highlight reel.
those complaining about unprofesionalism can suck the anchors' balls. I would love to have seen you handle this situation. Mistakes may happen, like in any other situation. What matters is that the channel handled it without any interruption.
Yo, let me add this: how significant the mistake in terms of how many TVs are reached can also be a factor. In this case, the viewers in Austin have to be questioning the production during that part. If this was a national broadcast, it would be more severe an impression on the unprofessionalism on the network, even though it was unintended.
Food for thought when you're producing something for the Tiffany, Peacock, and/or Alphabet networks and beyond.
Actually, it is the most professionally-handled live meltdown I have ever seen. At the station I work at, it would not have gone that well. WFAA is widely respected in the industry for being consumate professionals, as they were in the way they ahndled this situation.
i gota say they easly handeled the situation like their was nothing wrong. Most news anchors hit the deck when the shit hits the fan these guys just keep rolling with it.
Kool!! I live here in Austin also, I live in West Austin ( West Lake Hill ) But I work downtown and own a business there so also have a condo there likewise. I'm in N/Aistin alot also as I have meny friends there...well hope to see back from you soon until then have a good day by by.

i know but its just funny how they bounced right back on track
NuJerseyDevil91 5 years ago
I consider this funnier than so-called bloopers. Grandmas falling down slides, people getting hit in the sack, other bloopers as such, not funny.
Local news screw ups... hilarious.
Okay, sack shots are also hilarious.
